[DL-C] Arrival and an Unexpected Occurance

Raissa and Kehan were fine by day, just riding on, but at night, things were
different. He kept having nightmare, ones he refused to talk about, or
would barely talk at all. The only thing Raissa knew for certain was that
they all were about Kendra.
Kehan was becoming very moody, and nothing she could do could draw her
friend out of his misery.
"Kehan, we'll be reaching the cleft in about an hour," she commented.
"Hmm," he responded.
"It's not time to be monosyllabic, friend, we have to find that warren, and
I need you to scan the skies for a welcoming commitee," she replied.
"Fine," Kehan said.
Raissa did a quick emotional scan for other creatures in the area and found
only dragons. This bugged her, the only reasons that she should be sensing
only dragon emotion would be if it was a pack of wilds or an intensly strong
moment for most of the dragons at Cleft Warren.
She hoped it as the second.
They rode on silently for about ten minutes, and then Kehan noticed a
strange expression on his companion's face.
"Raissa?" he asked.
"Huh?" she responded. "Oh, there's a mating flight at the warren. It can
be a little overwhelming sometimes. Especially since I wasn't expecting
anything important."
"So, how far away are we?" he asked.
"Right over there, look at the flight," she replied, pointing at a
multicolored stream of dragons.
Raissa nudged Evalie into a gallop, and smiled at Kehan struggling to keep
his seat catching up. Just as they entered the green, two dragons collided
overhead.
One of the dragons, a black, tumbled out of the air and crash-landed on the
ground. Raissa then noticed a rider strapped onto his back. She stopped
her horse, and dismounted to run over to the injured dragon and his rider.
She slowed down as she approached. As Raissa reached the region of the
dragon, she saw a older woman in red and black approaching.
"Just what were you doing up there?" she said, causing the young man to turn
around. "Can't you control yourself better than that? You could have both
been killed!"
"Why don't you sit on a nail, sister," he snapped. "Until you strap
yourself on several tons of rutting dragon, what the hell gives you the
right to chastise me?!?"
Another man, much older than the first, stepped forward and said, "I found
someone you needed to talk to, B'rand. This is Cynthia, our Warrenlady."
The warrenlady? Raissa thought to herself. I thought she would be too busy
to watch a mating flight, and I'd heard when I stopped at Whiteriver that
Syren was already egg-heavy, so it couldn't have been hers.
She moved to intercept the warrenlady and that fool rider.
"Excuse me, Warrenlady Cynthia?" Raissa asked, even though she knew the answer.
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry, my friend and I just arrived and were wondering what is expected
of transfers. My name is Raissa Orthallen, Bard and Healer, trauma
specialist. Could you give me some instuctions," she explained.
