Cynthia smoothed her hair in place. The day was just barely begun and
already she could tell it was going to be a busy one.

<The hatchlings are flying!> Syren informed her gleefully.

<Wonderful!> Cynthia sent back. This was indeed good news. Now she could
assign more patrols.

Cynthia continued with the paperwork at her desk when suddenly a knock came
on the door. She looked up in surprise as she wasn't expecting anybody, but
then she was used to the unexpected around here.

"Come in!" she beckoned.

In walked Farr'in and a woman she didn't recognize.

>"Warrenlady Cynthia, this is Callana Blade," he made the 
>introductions. "A new transfer from Marrid Warren."

>"Thank you for showing her here Farr'in," the woman said as she 
>stood to offer her hand to the new rider.

>"Yes thank you..." Callana said, her eyes meeting his for the 
>first time.

Cynthia studied the young woman, noting there was a hardness in her ice
blue eyes.

>"Any time," he grinned. "I'm glad I could be of some help, but 
>now I must be off. Unless you need me for anything more Cynthia?"

>"No Farr, I can handle it from here," she said. "If I do though, 
>I'll have my Queen bespeak  your Tergath if you don't mind."

>"Not at all. Seems I'm off patrols today anyway so I'll be around."

>"Oh? And why is that?" the Warrenlady asked.

>"Seems like my patrol partner decided he'd had enough of the rough 
>life and transfered back to Telnor. I thought you'd have heard

>He bowed then and backed out of the door.

The warrenlady sighed. Yes, she did have her hands full. But right now she
needed to concentrate on matters at hand.

"Callana Blade," Cynthia repeated as she searched her desk, "Ah, yes, I
have your transfer papers here."

"So, would you like to tell me a bit about yourself; your abilities,
interests, anything else you want to tell me?"

The warrenlady listened closely to everything Callana told her. She noted
that the woman only disclosed the bare minimum and was closely guarded
about her past. Cynthia knew that she would not find out much today from
this one.

"Well, if there is nothing else, I will send for Farr'in and he can show
you around and get you situated."

== Later that day ==

Cynthia leaned back and rubbed her temples, attempting to ease her
throbbing headache. This day had been unusually busy and the stress was
taking it's toll. 'Tomorrow will be better,' she thought, relieved that it
would soon be time for dinner. Then came another knock on the door.

"Enter!" Cynthia called out.

A young woman entered and shyly said, "I'm Katrina Silvera of Norwall."

Cynthia noted that no one else accompanied her. She smiled warmly at the
young woman, "Come in dear. Did you find you find your way here yourself?"

"No, Lenna showed me here."

"Ah..." Cynthia responded, wondering why Lenna didn't come in with the new
transfer.

"I see here your dragon's name is Azure?"

The girl nodded.

"Tell me some about yourself, dear, and then after we talk I'll have Lenna
get you show you around and get you situated," Cynthia said.
