DL-C: ...but what's a Landborn have but his hopes and dreams to drive him?

D'Ren walked away from the dragons and their riders who were unloading
the injured nomads. He arrived back at the gate and told the men to step
down as he further explained the situation. To his surprise, most of the
people felt pity for the burnt nomads, and he had no problem gathering a
small guard that would be sent with supplies to the nomads' settlement.
Shaking his head in disbelief, D'Ren headed to his room for the night.
In the morning, he awoke early and armed himself as he went to check on
the gate guard. He could see that two men were near the blockade, but he
doubted their alertness.
"I don't think that the nomads are going to attack us anyway. From the
amount of wounded, I doubt that they will be much of a threat to anyone
anytime soon," he thought heading to the dining hall.
D'Ren wolfed his food knowing that the supplies had to be ready for
Dan'yar, and he didn't want to let the Wingleader down. He was feeling very
good of his new self-appointed position and thought about talking to Cynthia
about a permanent posting as militia leader of Cleft Warren. Not as grand
as a dragon rider, but what's a Landborn have but his hopes and dreams to
drive him?
"Another excellent meal," he said to himself, and he exited the hall
just as Dan'yar was walking in.
"Dan'yar, several men have volunteered to help with the nomad village,
and I'll have supplies together in just a few hours," he said to the passing
Dragonrider.
"huh? Oh...ah...good job D'Ren," Dan'yar replied in a most districted
way.
"I sure hope that he doesn't think...I mean he did see Brisse and I in
that most embarrassing dragon-provoked embrace yesterday. Though I must
say, that it was not unpleasant. I just hope that he doesn't get the wrong
idea," D'Ren thought as he went out to get the supplies ready for the day.
NRP: Well just wanted to post, and maybe encourage some writing from our
players. : )
