---------------------------------------------------

During dinner, Dan'yar had to keep himself from laughing out loud as
he watched this new mate of his baby sister's ordering her around as
if she was his personal servant. His respect for the man went up a
notch each and every time he cut off the girls growing temper with
just a mire grin.

He knew half of the Warren had felt relief when it was learned that
the fiery blond had finally found herself a mate. But the verdict was
still out on the sanity of the man who asked her. Half the Warren felt sorry
for him and the other half thought he was crazy for taking her
on.

But the man had proven he could handle her. There hadn't been an
explosion inside the Warren for a couple of weeks now.

But now long could the peace last.

His eyes moved to take in the woman in his own life. The woman who
owned his heart.

How much she had grown and blossomed in the last few weeks. she was stronger
now, a little more confident, and the way she had come to
respond to him and the girls, touched his emotion deeper than
anything else in his life ever had before.

With maybe the exception of witnessing the birth of his daughters.

In some ways, what he felt for Brisse was even more powerful then
the love he had shared with his first mate.

Layla. He could smile when he thought of her now, and knew she would
have wanted him to find someone like Bri to make him happy.

"Dan'yar? What's going on with your sister and B'rand?" Bri asked from where
she sat beside him. Her eyes were following the taller woman as
she crossed the room to get the red-head a cold beer after he'd
complained that the one in front of him was now to warm to drink.
"What's with this "Yes Dear" that she keeps saying when he asks her
to do something?"

"Farr'in told me they had a bet going and Lenna lost. So now she had
to do everything B'rand tells her to do for the next week," "Then
should I start wearing my riding helmet whenever she's near," the
young queenrider joked as she tilted her face up to look into the
eyes of her loves.

"Not yet," Dan'yar leaned down and gave her a brief kiss. "Give it
another day or two. Then I think it might be a good idea."

They made their excuses a little while later and left the hall after wishing
every one a good evening. Neither of them saw the smile that
graced the face of Danki. The woman was so happy that her middle
child had finally opened up his heart and let love live inside it
again.

Now she was waiting for the grandbabies she hoped they would have.

-----------------

He was a little worried about her.

He understood when she told him she want to wait until she found out weather
or not she was...pregnant, before they did anything together.
He did understand. But the waiting was getting harder as time went by.

Gods how he wanted her!! Wanted to show her how wonderful loving
could be between two people who cared deeply for one another. But
he would wait. She was to important to his life to screw it up by
pressing her before she was ready for them to move on to the next
step in their relationship.

They were both relieved the morning she came to tell him that she had
started her period. He understood when she again asked him to wait.

When she started to complain about feeling strange.. or odd as she
called it.. he suggested she go see a healer. But she had told him
she was all right. Really. She felt it silly to go see a healer when
it wasn't affecting her that bad.

But then it happened the next night

On the third night it happened he once again told her "I really think
you ought to see the healers. This isn't normal."

"Maybe it's just sympathy symptoms with Tymor. Cynthia says she'll
probably be laying tomorrow."

"I suppose it could be. Oh, I got you something today."

He was hoping she didn't think he was being silly when he handed her
the book of love poems. When he had seen it yesterday morning, he
thought about her. Now that she was getting better at reading, (and
he so proud that she was trying so hard to learn) he wanted to give
her something to show his feelings.

*******

"As much as I hate to say it, love. It's getting late. You want
Shinner
to fly you home?"

"Mmm..." She snuggled in closer to him, closing the book of poetry
that had so intrigued them most of the evening, and hugging it to
her. "I'd like to stay tonight with you."

"With me?" A fire shot throughout his body. His breath caught as he
tilted her face up until he could see what was in her eyes.

"Yes," she answered the unasked question, "with you."

"Are you sure you're ready?" He didn't want too, but knew he had to
ask. She had to be totally sure this was what she wanted. Then
prayed her answer would be yes.

She nodded. "I'm sure."

"And you're feeling well enough?" Another question he had to ask.
She was so important to him that he would take no chance with her
health. A few hours of pleasure wasn't worth the risk.

"I'm feeling better now."

Without another word, he rose and picked her up in his arms and
started towards the bedroom. When her arms slipped around his neck
and her lips opened under his, he nearly lost it.

Gods she tasted so sweet. She didn't even know what her innocent
little kisses did to him. They held the power to bring him to his
 knees.

He carried her into his bedroom and laid her on the bed. She
started to reach for the buttons of her blouse, but he stopped
her. "Let me do it, love. I want to savor this time."

He fought to dampen the fire raging inside of his body. The need
to spread her legs and drive his hardness deep inside of her where
he longed to be. Her hands touching him didn't help, but he fought
and won. He wanted to make this night special for her. He wanted to
give her pleasure, so he put his own needs from his mind and set
out to woe her to him.

He started by brushing his lips back and forth acrossed hers, barely
touching, until he heard her moan softly. Only then did he deepen
the kiss just a little. He didn't want to scare her by coming on to
strong. His hands began a slow exploration of her body, learning what
would please her, and letting her get used to his touch upon her naked skin.

When he heard her whimper and her breath catch, his touch became
bolder. He ran his finger tips over her face, her eyes, and her
mouth. His gaze dropped to her breast and he reached for them,
holding one in each hand, his thumbs teasing the tips into hard
little peaks. His head bent and, trembling, touched his lips to
her. He drank of her sweetness, tasted her, urging her pleasure on.

His hand moved downward, while his lips move to occupied hers,
sweeping over her hip and down the back of her leg, only to sweep
back up the front of her leg. Several times he did this, each time
coming closer and closer to that part of her he knew he would soon pleasure.

Closer.

Then finally he was touching her...and nearly lost it again when he
found her damp to the touch. Gently his fingers explored her until
her body suddenly tensed up and she was crying out his name...

Still he didn't quit. When her breathing slowed, he began all over
again, until finally... he felt that she was ready for him. Slipping
slowly between her legs, he looked down into her eyes.

"You're sure love?" he asked giving her one final chance to change
her mind.

"I've never been more sure of anything," she answered. "I love you Dan'yar."

"As do I you, my heart,"' he said then slowly he entered her and
their bodies came together even as their hearts already had.

Afterward, she cried in his arms, tears of joy, and they fell
asleep together.

Sometime later he felt something nudging him shoulder and opened
his eyes to find his love staring down at him.

"Hmmm?" he asked, pulling her to him. His lips were reaching up to
her when she told him...

"Tymor is laying her eggs."

He sat up and rubbed his tired eyes, then smiled down at her naked
body in his bed. "Let's get dressed and I'll take you to her."

Sometime during the early hours of the morning he fell asleep but
came awake later when he heard her calling out to him.

"Wake up. Dan'yar, wake up. Oh, it's terrible!"

He started awake at once and was immediately looking for the source
of her distress. "What is it, love? What's wrong?"

"They're sending someone to measure Tymor! They think she might be
bigger than Kaeryth. Oh, Dan'yar, what if she is?! What am I going
to do?"

He wrapped her in his arms. "Calm down, love. It's okay. It's okay."

He spoke calmly to her trying to still her fears. It was some minutes before
he could get her calmed.

"Are you okay now?" his eyes searched her face, looking for any more
signs of distress.

She nodded.

"All right. Let's go get something to eat and talk, okay?"

She nodded and stood.

He saw her body waver for a moment and then she was retching on the
cavern floor. He never moved so fast in his life, taking him only
seconds to reach her side. "Brisse.. love.. it'll be all right.
Easy love, you'll be all right."

His hand moved to stoke her hair as he supported her limp body.
When he was convinced she had emptied everything she possibly could
from her stomach, he picked her up into her arms and carried her
from the cavern.

"You are going to see the healer love," he told her in a tone that
would book no argument on her side, nor did she even try. "We're
going to find out once and for all what's wrong with you."

He carried her the whole way, until they came to the new medical
center and refused to let her go until they were shown to a room
and a healer came in.

"Dan'yar what is it?" the healer asked when he saw who it was.
"You're not having anymore headaches are you??"

"No," he assured him, then looked at the pale face of the woman
he loved laying on the bed. Concern for her colored his words as
he told the healer.. "It's Brisse. she's been having problems with
nausea or something like that for sometime now and just a few
minutes ago she was violently sick.... We have to find out what's
causing this."

"That's what I'm here for," the healer told him, and began to move
him towards the door. "You ...wait... outside in the waiting room
and I'll come out and let you know when we're finished."

He didn't want to leave her, but she gave him a weak smile and
told him she would be fine.

"I'll be right outside the door if you want me love," he told her
and then went to wait.

It hit him like a ton of bricks as he closed the door behind him.

No...it couldn't be...

The twenty minutes or so that he stood waiting out in the hallway,
were some of the longest in his life. Dan'yar was just about to
knock on the door of the examining room to remind the healer that
he was still outside waiting, when the door opened and the healer
asked him to come back inside.

"I'm going to go run a few test," he told the rider. "So why don't
you stay in here and keep the lovely young lady company until I get
the results."

"Are you okay love," he asked as he moved to sit on the side of the
bed next to her.

"Oh Dan'yar!!......."
