They walked out of the Medical Center, Brisse still a little green about
the gills.
<Brisse, I have heard that Syren's rider has strangely fallen asleep.
Azure and her rider are there now.>
Brisse frowned. She hoped it wasn't serious. She couldn't handle running
the warren yet.
Two strange men approached the Medical Center. "Excuse us, miss, we're
looking for Brisse, rider of Tymor," the blond said.
"I'm Brisse," she answered.
"We're M'yer and P'ker, of Keldarra," the blond continued. "We're here to
measure Tymor."
Brisse fought down her rising panic, and offered her hand. M'yer shook it.
P'ker took it and pressed his lips to the back of it. Dan'yar frowned.
M'yer cast a warning glance at his dark-haired companion, then continued.
"Is it possible we could measure her?"
Brisse nodded. "I'll show you the way."
"Do you need any help?" Dan'yar asked.
She shook her head. "You need to be getting back to the girls."
They started to head toward the hatching cave when the bugling of a dragon
overhead announced the arrival of Cynthia. Brisse excused herself quickly
and went to check on the warrenlady.
Thankfully, Cynthia seemed well, just a bit confused about what had happened.
"I'll see you later," Brisse bid her, and headed back to join the two
Keldarrans.
They reached the hatching cave, and the two men cautiously approached the
brooding queen, and pulled out cloth tapes marked off in segments, and paper
and pens.
Brisse stood nervously by Tymor's snout, rubbing it gently, as much to
relax herself as the queen. Suddenly, the queen's head raised up and the
two men backed off quickly.
"What is it, Tymor?" Brisse asked aloud as well as in her thoughts.
<Someone has done something to Shinner's and his rider's apartment,> the
queen answered.
She wanted to go at once to check on him, but stopped and looked at the two
men. No. They needed to finish their work here, and the needed her help.
"It's just a piece of startling news," she explained. "Nothing against
you. Please, go ahead."
She sat and watched, glancing at the entrance, waiting for him, waiting for
news.
Respectfully submitted,
Brisse and Tymor
