Trevor
(afternoon, at the lake with Cynthia)
Cynthia's hand ran up his back and she laced her fingers in his hair.
She leaned toward him and kissed him more firmly. Their lips parted and
she whispered, we should get out of the lake so our clothes can dry."
"You're always so practical," he replied.
Holding hands they waded out of the water and on to the grassy bank.
Cynthia released his hand and said, "I'll be right back."
He watched as she dissapeared from view among some broad leaved trees.
A few moments he heard some loud rustling, and he called out, "Cynthia,
are you all right?"
"I'm fine," she replied, "I'll be back in a moment." The rustling
continued for another minute and Cynthia emerged from the foliage
carrying her clothes in one hand and holding a large, multi-fronded fern
leaf in front of her in the other.
Trevor saw her and burst out laughing, "What is that?" he asked between
peals of laughter.
"Well," she said with a trace of indignation, "it wouldn't do for a
Warren Lady to go parading around naked, would it?" She knelt down and
began to lay her wet clothes out on a rock in the sun to dry.
Trevor watched her for a moment and then said, "I'll be right back."
She grinned broadly and watched him walk into the foliage.
He returned a few minutes later and found her lying in the soft grass,
with her eyes closed and the leaf laying on top of her. He laid his
clothes on the rock, walked over and sat down next to her. "So, is this
the most unusual thing that has ever happened to you?"
Cynthia opened her eyes and looked up at him, "In general, I would
classify you as the most unusual thing to ever happen to me."
"Hey, that's not fair," he chuckled, trying to sound casual. But inside,
he didn't know what to think. This was the first time, other than those
evenings in the dining hall, when he'd ever seen her in anything other than
her role as the Warrenlady of Cleft. Seeing her like this, now, stirred
desires in him that he'd always denied himself. He knew what he wanted to do
right now...but if he made such an advance to her, how would she take it? And
if he did...gods, he'd never *done* anything like this before! He'd wind up
making a fool of himself, he was sure of it. Still, he knelt down beside her,
gazing at her in wonder.
She sat up, and the leaf fell aside. He saw for the first time, the
soft curvature of her breasts and the contrasts between her nipples and
the surrounding skin. She tilted his head up with a touch of her
finger, "Trevor, I've never felt this way about anyone before," she
laughed, "And I've certainly never done anything like this with anyone
before."
Nor had Trevor, but he found himself giving in to his desire. He'd been
attracted to women before, of course, but there was something very different
about what he was feeling now. Perhaps, in part, it was because he no longer
feared to let his own impulses guide him. But it was mostly, he knew, because
this was Cynthia, and his feelings for he went deeper than any he'd ever
known.
He leaned over and kissed her. She reached out and pulled him in close
to her, and her breasts brushed against the soft hair of his chest. He
almost gasped at that wonderful touch, so unlike any he'd ever felt before.
He forgot his fears in that moment, knowing that if she felt about him the way
he did about her, she'd forgive a little clumsiness on his part.
She lay back in the grass again and Trevor lay next to her, their legs
intertwined. He learned something now that he'd never had a chance to learn
before...that if you cared enough for someone, certain things just came
naturally. And so they did now. He kissed her neck and under her chin,
relishing the feel of her soft skin on his lips; every time they touched her,
an electric thrill seemed to go through his entire body. He worked his way
down her body with light kisses, pausing at each nipple to gently coax it into
a firm peak. He continued lower and touched the point of his tongue into her
belly button. Then her returned to kiss her lips by trailing the tip of his
tongue up her stomach, between her breasts and up her neck.
Their lips met hungrily and Cynthia rolled over on top of him. She sat for
a moment on his chest before lowing herself on to his erect manhood.
She paused like that for just a moment she began to move her hips up and
down, slowly at first, and then with increasing speed. He lost himself to his
passion, running his hands over her body, up her sides and then cupping and
caressing her breasts. Inexperienced though he was, he quickly caught her
rhythem and matched his ecstatic thrusts to her own movements. Gods, he
thought, I never dreamed it could be like this!
They went on and on, Trevor feeling his passion build until he felt he
couldn't contain himself any longer. But, sensing that Cynthia wasn't ready,
he held himself back for her. Finally, gasping for breath, they both found
their release at the same instant in an explosive climax.
Several minutes later they lay cuddled together in the warm sun, their
passion spent, but their desire just beginning. "You were very good,
Trevor," Cynthia told him.
"I was?" he asked, rather surprised.
"For a first timer," said, with a mischevious grin on her face.
"Well," he said, using a finger to teasingly circle one of her nipples,
"I haven't had much chance to practice, or even watch anybody *else* practice,
for that matter. Though I *did* see a couple of wild dragons once...they do
it a bit differently though."
He leaned around her, using his teeth to gently nibble the back of her
neck. "You see, the male grabs the female's neck in his teeth...he bites a
little harder, of course, but..."
"Oh, you!" Cynthia giggled. "I can see that you're going to need some
intensive training. I'll make sure, in fact, that it's added to your
curriculum, since you're already a trainee."
"Hmmm...Qedhar's not my type..." he told her, bringing his head back
around to plant a firm kiss on her lips.
They held the kiss for a moment, then he drew back to look into her eyes.
"Well then," she said softly, "we'll just have to see that you get a different
trainer...Bohoc??"
Trevor chuckled. "Sorry, he's definitely not my type, though I suppose he
and Triss might..."
Cynthia made a face, and after glancing over at her queen, quickly moved
to get up.. "No, no, that's not what I meant! Syren says that Bohoc is here!
He just spoke to her. She says that he's bringing Andahar here to speak to
us!" She tossed Trevor's clothes to him, then began putting her own on. "Go
and talk to him, and I'll join you
in a minute!"
Trevor had just finished dressing when he heard the sound of a dragon
backwinging in to land. He stepped around the obscuring bulk of the platinum
queen, and saw the smaller green dragon crouching down so that the Nomad rider
could dismount. Andahar walked towards him, holding his hand up in a gesture
of greeting. Trevor did likewise. Perhaps now they'd find out why Andahar
had left Cleft so quickly after his recent arrival.
"Bohoc and I saw you arrive," the Nomad said without preamble. "He felt
that I should speak to you since you come to our valley."
Trevor didn't miss the emphasis on the word "our," and realized that this
was where Andahar lived. Well, so much for giving this place over to the
rogues. He wondered even more just how much Andahar had seen *since* their
arrival...
"We did not mean to trespass," Trevor told him, hoping that his rather
scanty command of the Nomad tongue would be good enough for the other rider to
understand. Just then, Cynthia stepped into view. Once again, she looked
every inch the Warrenlady.
"We did not know that anyone lived here," Trevor continued. "Andahar, why
are you here? Why did you leave warren?"

Kellie

(at another lake, shortly before sunset)
Kellie yawned, stretching a bit as she opened her eyes. Turner, his
muscular arm around her, looked over at her. "It's not time to go already, is
it?" he asked. "I thought you didn't have patrol today."
"I don't," she said, surprised to find how much the thought of going back
dismayed her. She'd had such a wonderful time here, though she might not
admit it to him... "You did promise Dan'yar we wouldn't leave Trissana with
the girls for too long, remember?."
Turner sighed. "Well, duty first, I suppose," he said, sounding as
disappointed as he was. "Of course, that means we'll have the evening
completely free, won't it? Can't do any more renovations until those new
pipes come in tomorrow."
"Yes, I suppose you're right," she chuckled, as she swung herself up onto
Varie's saddle. Turner bounded up after her, with an ease that was unusual
for someone who wasn't a rider. "So, do you have...ah, plans, to keep us from
getting bored until we can go on with our bet?"
"Oh, not really," he said, as the green dragon spread her wings and took
off. "Some interesting ideas, though."
"I can imagine!" she laughed. "Strip poker again?"
"If you want," he said, laughing that wonderful laugh of his. "Or, we
could think of something else..."
"By the way, you're good at leatherwork, aren't you?" she asked. "Can
you do fancy work, embossing and that sort of thing? And can you dye it blue?"
"Sure," he replied. "As good as anyone - and I think I can handle blue.
What did you have in mind?"
She turned around, grinning wickedly. "Your payment for talking my
dragon into conspiring with you," she told him, and then told him her idea.
Turner laughed again. "Yeah, I can do that!" he said. "You have *such*
good ideas, you know that? But as for payment...uh, aren't we even now?"
"No, you still owe me one, even after this," she assured him, not giving
him time to think about it. "But if you're a good boy, maybe I *will* give
you a chance to even things up tonight. I happen to know another type of
poker that I'll bet you've never played before."
Before Turner could ask for details, Varie teleported. The next thing
they knew, they were gliding down toward's Cleft Warren.
"Hmmm...I don't think we have to worry about picking up Trissana," said
Varie. "They're back. I can see Syren down on the green."
Just to be sure, she had Varie contact the dragonet to make sure that
Trevor had indeed come for her. <She says she is with her rider now,> Varie
replied after a moment. <This is strange, my rider...>
*What's strange, love?* Kellie asked, puzzled.
<Well, she says that her rider - your hatchling - has invited you to
something called a fish-fry! Oh, and Blanchie's rider's clutchmate is invited
too, she says.>
Turner just shook his head when Kellie passed the news along to him.
"Here I was conjuring up all sorts of images in my mind...and they were out
there *fishing!* I've got to have a long talk with your son...!"
(Tag Barb - should they go to the cookout, or can Turner wait that long to
learn that new card game...?)

Trevor
(back at Cleft, lower green)
<Varie is back, my rider,> Triss told him, as the dragonet watched her
rider arrange the logs and tinder in a small firepit at the edge of the green.
*Oh...well, that's good,* he told her. *Have her tell my mother and
Turner that they're invited to our little fish-fry, if they want to come.*
He and Cynthia had returned to the warren a short time ago, and Trevor
had been in such a buoyant mood that he hadn't even been bothered that his
mother had caught on to his little game - particularly since Trissana had been
so happy about being able to spend the afternoon playing with the twins. He'd
thanked the girls, told them what wonderful dragon-sitters they were, and
then invited them to come over to the cookout - and to come and play with
Trissana anytime they wished.
Cynthia had, meanwhile, gotten two of Turner's workers to carry their
catch down to the green. He'd been surprised at first that she hadn't gotten
some of the kitchen crew to do it...until he saw how difficult it was for even
the two burly stoneworkers to carry it down there...that was one *big* fish!
Cynthia had gone back to her office for a short time, just to make sure there
was nothing critical demanding her immediate attention, but had promised to
come down shortly.
*Triss, would you tell Shinner to make sure his rider knows that he's
invited to come too?* Trevor asked, as he took out his flint and tinder to
start the fire. He couldn't remember whether he'd told Arly and Leyean to
extend his invitation to Dan'yar as well. *Oh....and tell your mother that
her rider is invited too!*
<Yes, my rider...what are you doing?>
*Starting a fire...what does it look like?* he asked, struggling with the
flint to get a good spark to start the tinder burning.
Triss cocked her head. <I can do that for you, my rider!> She stepped
forward, took a deep breath, and blew on the logs. Nothing but air came out,
and Trevor could feel her disappointment. <I thought I could,> she sighed.
Well, if she'd been that sure, maybe she really could - with a little
help. He told her to wait there for him, and returned a few moments later
with a small piece of coal in his hand. *It's probably a little early to be
starting you on this, but it can't hurt. Swallow this, and see if it
helps...but make sure you chew it up first!*
Triss sniffed the coal, then gently took it from his fingers. She
crunched it noisily, then stopped and made a face. <Eeew!> she said.
*Well, it's not supposed to taste good,* he told her, as she swallowed
the crushed coal. *But it might help you get some flame up!*
Triss settled herself down in front of the firepit again and took a deep
breath...but only succeded this time in emitting a rather loud belch.
*Well, that wasn't very ladylike, was it?* Trevor chuckled, while the
embarrassed little dragon looked around nervously to see if anyone had been
within earshot. He draped an arm around her neck, and spoke encouragingly to
her. *C'mon, Cupcake! I know you can do it!*
Triss furrowed her eyeridges and looked at him. <Kup-kake? What's a
kup-kake?>
*Well, its a...just ask Azure, she can tell you all about cupcakes,*
Trevor told her. *Um, then again, her rider probably remembers the cupcakes
too, so maybe you better not. I'll explain later; for now, just concentrate
on fire! I know you can do it!*
<Okay, here goes!> said the dragonet, taking another deep breath. She
closed her eyes and exhaled, and a beautiful blossom of fire leaped from her
jaws. Not a large one, but enough to set the wood instantly alight.
<Oooh...did I do that?> she asked, her eyes going wide with wonder.
*You sure did!* he said, giving her neck a congratulatory hug.
"You look just like a proud parent," Cynthia told him, striding into the
firelight. "There was nothing too major going on, so I decided to come over
and see if I could help." She was carrying several long loaves of bread under
her arm to go with the fish.
Together they saw to the work of cleaning and de-boning the fish. "I had
a wonderful time today," Cynthia told him, as he sectioned the fish up into
steaks and set the first couple into a pan to cook.
"So did I," he said, turning to look at her and noticing how lovely she
looked with her face lit by the glow from the fire. "I was thinking of how
nice it would have been to just stay there all day, and...well, you know!"
"I do," she said, smiling. "But we've plenty of time."
He nodded wordlessly. There was so much to be said between them...but
that could come later, when they knew they wouldn't be interrupted. The
others would probably start arriving any minute.
Guessing his thought, Cynthia looked around. "Who else did you invite?"
she asked. "Kellie?"
"And Turner," he agreed. "Also Dan'yar and the twins. It turns out they
wound up babysitting Triss this afternoon."
Cynthia chuckled. "How surprising," she remarked. "Make sure you save
one of those steaks for Syren...we did promise her, after all. Trevor...if
you invited Dani and Turner, what about Lenna and Lonnie, and the rest of the
family? And Brisse? Dan'yar wouldn't want to come without her."
"Well, Triss talked to Tymor and Shinner...you're right, I should ask
Lenna...and Katrina as well, since they've both been so much help to me on the
mapping." He turned to his dragon. *Triss, would you tell Blanchie and Azure
to ask their riders if they'd like to come and have some of our fish? Oh, and
tell Meritanth the same thing.*
<I already have, my rider,> the little dragon told him, clearly proud of
her foresight.
*Good girl! Um...did I miss anybody?*
<I told Shaithos and Tehshah,> she replied. <Their riders have done such
a good job with our training, you know.>
*Oh, yes, that's right...*
<Blanchie said she'd tell Rook, too.>
*Oh, that's good...*
<Leis heard about it from Tymor, and I told him that his rider could come
too if he wished.>
*Well, okay...*
<Adrian asked too, and even though I'm still mad at him, I told him to
tell his rider as well.>
*Uh, that's...wonderful, Triss...so, just who all did you talk to about
this?*
<Well, just a few others...Novara, Kelanth, Faile, Kime...> The list went
on for a good while. <Of course, I just had to tell Trinaka and my other
clutchmates!>
Trevor put a hand over his eyes and shook his head. *Sounds like you
invited everybody except the rogue!*
<Garoth thanked us for asking, but he didn't think his rider was feeling
well enough to come.>
"What is it?" Cynthia asked, seeing the expression on his face.
"Well...I was exaggerating a bit when I said that this fish would feed
half the warren," he told her. "But if all the riders whose dragons Triss has
talked to show up, it might be a bit more than that...."
Cynthia looked thoughtful for a minute, then smiled. "Well, maybe I can
work a bit of magic," she told him. "Something that only Warrenladies know
how to do!"
"Magic, huh?" Trevor asked dubiously. "Well, I'm open for just about
anything right now!"
Cynthia walked over and knelt down next to the sliced fish steaks and the
loaves of bread. "What I'm about to do is something very secret," she told
him, as he came up to look over her shoulder. "You'll have to promise not to
tell anyone about this!" Being very mysterious about the whole thing, she
began to wave her arms over the bread and the fish, and mumbled something
under her breath. Then she stood up with a satisfied look on her face.
"Done!" she told him.
Trevor looked back down, squinting a bit and wondering if he'd missed
something. "Well...we started out with one fish and three loaves of bread.
It looks to me as though we've still got one fish and three loaves of bread.
Exactly what *did* you do just now?"
She grinned broadly at him. "I asked Syren to pass a message along to my
courier - to have the dining hall ready to send additional supplies down here
if we need them. Also to have Karen come down to help with the cooking...that
way, we can slip out whenever we want!"
Trevor laughed, drawing her into a tight embrace. "You're wonderful!" he
told her!
NRPG:
Alton - Feel free to jump in anywhere you'd like...also, I know Triss
would have passed the word to P'ker's and M'yer's dragons, but I couldn't
remember their names...
Arlene - I lefft out the return flight to Cleft, since I didn't know if
Andahar would decide to come back with them or not.
Any and all - if your PCs aren't occupied, feel free to have them stop
by...might be a chance for some good interaction...though I'm not really sure
what kind of a cook Trevor is...
