Ankara lost consciousness for a while and when she woke was sad to find
herself in the same predicament. Alone and poisoned by her own desperation,
having eaten a strange seemingly hallucinogenic fruit.
The visions came back of her past, just as terrifying as before. There was
the man who had abducted her from her fathers tent and brought her to this
strange camp. He sat across the fire from her and ate his dinner watching her
with beady eyes. She was afraid of him, it wasn't fear of her escaping that
made him watch her so closely, she was well tied at the feet and hands with no
chance of escaping. He watched her for another reason, his eyes seemed to be
boring into her skull and drinking her fear. Every bead of nervous sweat that
rolled down her face he seamed to lap up. This man enjoyed making others
suffer, he reviled in pain and suffering, and caused it in others whenever he
could for no reason. She had watched this man rape her mother in front of her
eyes she could do nothing, and she knew that she would be next.
He finished eating and made a grunting noise to a passing old woman in rags,
she bent down and took the plate. Suddenly Ankara saw the woman's face and
realized that she was just a young girl, but her posture and her attitude made
her seem old and worn out. Ankara imagined that she would be just as broken
in a few years of living with this cruel man.
That night he took her into the tent and broke her virgin seal, but she swore
to herself that he would never break her spirit.
For eight years she would suffer from his attentions, he would rape and
abuse her, often finding small reasons to punish her cruelly.
The vision faded once again leaving the mental wounds to bleed once again.
She laid there gasping for air, tears running down her face. Her lips were
parched and cracking from the lack of water, she realized that crying only
made it worse and tried to change the subject in her own mind by thinking
about Jedora.
The first time Ankara had seen him she had thought he was a mirage. He had
been walking across the hot sands towards her and the water hole, leading a
tired horse.
He was handsome tall and had a kind face, she was dust caked and in rags, but
somehow they both felt an instant bond. She had always been so distrustful of
people she didn't know, eight years as a slave to that cruel man had done
that. Finally she was free of that tribe, having snuck off in the night to
face the dangers of the wastes rather than be slave.
He came up to her with an easy smile and she simply hadn't thought to fear
him. At first she wasn't even sure he was human, if he wasn't a mirage surely
he was a wandering God! No mortal man had such a handsome face!
The problem was after listening to the insulting words of her master over the
past eight years she had really begun to believe she was an ugly worthless
woman like he said and didn't realize that she was really a beautiful young
girl.
She was eight when she had been abducted, and there for eight years as
slave. During which time her self esteem had been stomped into the dirt, but
Jedora had fixed all that with his kindness.
He had taken her back to his camp of traveling raiders, and welcomed her like
an honored guest, giving her clean clothes, food and water. He taught her the
arts of sword and dagger and gave her a job with them with equal share of the
rewards of there plunder. They had a strict honor code, they took what they
needed nothing more. They never raped or stole what the people could not
afford to loose.
Yet it scared her to think of what she had become, not much better than the
people who had taken her from her father. She raided at Jedora's side for
three years when they came to the rocky mountain pass...
The thought of it brought on the next vision and she moaned aloud not wanting
to see it again but unable to stop it.
The pass was rocky and steep, they were all tired but eager to be done with
this landscape and back to the plains. They walked in front of there horses
in single file often stumbling and bruising knees.
Suddenly they heard a loud screech coming from above, it was a dragon!
She was huge and dark blue as the evening sky, she circled them for a while
making loud angry noises. They all tried to scatter under what little cover
the trail offered as she dived and blew a gout of flame over there heads.
Suddenly the horses spooked and plunged the raiders trying to hold them in
vain. Ankara mounted hers to keep it under control, and she was so busy
trying to calm the beast that she didn't notice Jedora until it was too late.
He had moved to the front of the line and was trying to stop the horses from
running over the edge of the rocky out cropping on the top of the pass.
Suddenly the dragon swooped and Ankara looked up only to watch in horror as
the dragon grabbed him and ripped him to shreds.
Tears flowed freely once again down her face as she saw the death of her
lover play over and over again in her mind. Each time she was unable to stop
it from happening until she screamed in terror. Looking up in the sky the
vision gone she saw a shadow decending.. It was that of a dragon, only this
one wasn't in her memories. This one was real!

((NRPG ok alton tag your it, dont forget that she is afraid of dragons and
might not go quietly.. but she is in bad shape.. feel free to nock her out to
get her to safety. oh and she speaks your language.. learned it from some of
the raiders.. some had been warren or landbound that were outcast))
