[DL-C] Next day.

The hospital was quiet, and finding the woman's room wasn't hard. He made
a point of avoiding S'olomon, as he didn't want to talk with the doctor
again. The nomad woman was asleep when he left the flowers, but he was
sure she would enjoy the color in the white room. She looked much better
now then when they first came in. Not nearly as black and blue as the day
before.
The herbs they had her on would probably keep her down for a while. He
remembered when he returned to the cleft with his wounds, he was asleep for
two weeks. Very close to dying, many thought he would.
He turned and a nurse was standing there. "She will be ok." She said it
as if to comfort him. She was young, with brown long hair, and deep gray
eyes arched with long eyelashes. She was attractive for her age.
"I don't really know her, I was just bringing some flowers. That is all."
He shifted weight. "I just know, no one knows her that is all. She could
use something to cheer here up."
"She is sleeping." The nurse pointed out. "I am Brisse, you're new here?"
	"Yes."
C'aranth noticed the bulging belly. "I am the Junior Queenrider. What is
your name?"
"Caranth," he said a bit stunned. "Junior is right." he whispered under
his breath. She shot him a look that made him suspect she had heard it.
"What are you doing here?"
"They won't let me do the things I want to do, clean up is about done, and
they want me to take it easy. So at least I am helping and can see the
results here." She straitened the sheets some and stood next to C'aranth.

He dwarfed her and looked down at her long eyelashes. "I saw you bring her
in, Dr. S'olomon says she would have died if you didn't take care of her.
The wound was infected, but it could have been worse." She looked at the
woman unconscious in the bed. "She also suffered some sever trauma from
the miscarriage. We removed what was left of the fetus."
When she turned back to C'aranth he was emotionless. If he had know that
the man would have died, maybe not then with the whole camp watching, but
during the night. "That is what she was sayingˇ" C'aranth spoke aloud as
his thoughts drifted back to the trip.
"I am sorry, you didn't know." She covered her mouth with her hand; "I
should have let the doctor tell you. Is she yourˇ"
"No." his answer was short and hard. "She is nothing to me, just helping
out. Where is your Warrenlady?"
"Cynthia is probably in her office, she will be at the party tonight." She
looked at him as he stared at her blank. "There is a joining party
tonight, all are welcome to come."
"Thank you." C'aranth turned and walked out of the room.
"Will you come to the party?" The words stopped him at the door.
"I am not good in social affaires."
"The food will be great, you really be missing out."
He could see she was not going to take no for an answer. "I will stop in."

He stopped by his apartment before he went to the Warrenlady's office to
retrieve the crossbow. From his window he could see people arriving for
the party, dragons landed in the green with what looked like half the
warren there to meet them.
He would need a gift for whoever it was who had joined, he would need to
stop by the smiths before the party. Just because he didn't like social
occasions was no reason to be rude.

NRPG: Well I thought I would just fill in the gap a little. Tag to Alton,
or anyone else, you could write me into the party B'rand.
