<<This will be a bit unconventional in writing and I promise I will not
make a habit of this, but I thought I'd try my hand at it for this post.
Please bear with me ..>>

They listen to every word I say .. smilin' and laughin' at my jokes ..
huggin' me and kissin' me. I like them very much. Even as much as Uncle ..
and he gives me sweets! Or did when we lived at the other place. But this
new place ain't so bad. 'Specially not know that Unk'Farr'in is here!

No not Unk'Farr'in .. Daddy. I wanted a daddy for so long .. a real one.
And Unk'Farr'in had been my first choice!  I'd almost had one once. He had
dark-hair and dark-eyes like me, and Mommy said was my daddy. He'd been
nice. And he like to play with me .. sometimes.

Sometime I had to call him a couple times to get him to answer. I don't
think he liked to play with me all the time. I think he had other, more
'portant thing to think about. And sometimes he'd look at me, and I'd think
he was gonna cry. But I didn't know why .. guess he was just sad.

I think maybe he didn't like me so well. Mommy said he did, but that he was
.. confused. I don't know what that mean's exactly. I think it must mean
that he had to go away.

Anyway mommy liked it when we played together. Or had for a while any way.
I remember the night he did finally go away and I never saw him again. I
was 'sposed to be sleeping, but sometimes after Mommy goes to bed, I get up
and go sleep with Vonn. She don't mind, and I like her a lot.

I was gonna go lay with Vonn that night .. but Mommy and the one she said
was daddy were yelling. Not happy yellin' either! It was kinda scary. I'd
never heard Mommy so upset. Grampa got up to see if Mommy was okay and I
went and crawled back into my bed and pulled my covers over my head.

Vonn came into my head and told everything would be okay. She hummed to me.
I like it when she humms to me.

I never saw that daddy again. Mommy had said that he'd gone on a trip, and
she didn't know when he'd be back. I was sad that he was gone .. though I
think Grampa was sadder. I asked him once about him being sad .. and he
just said sometimes things don't turn out the way they're 'sposed to. I
think that means that he and Mommy wanted that man to be my daddy, but he
wasn't.

I missed Grampa and was sad that I'd never see him again. I wondered for a
while if he went to find that other daddy. But Mommy said he went to a nice
place where he wouldn't be sad no more. I hope so, cause he'd been pretty
sad lately.

Since that daddy didn't stay, I decided I needed to find one that would.
And since Mommy wasn't doin' such a good job of findin' me one .. I found
one of my own!

I wanted a daddy like Lars and Alyne got. A daddy who loved me and lived
with me. Not one who had to go away. At first I thought maybe H'tor. He was
cool! He'd'a been a fun daddy. 'Cept he lived with Naomi .. I wanted one
who would live with me and Mommy. Besides he went away too .. I hoped he
was in the happy place with Grampa.

Then there was Jahn. He'd told me once that he would be my daddy someday.
He was okay .. I liked his dragon well enough ..

But then Unk'Farr'in came to Norwall. I knew as soon as he sat down with me
and Mommy that he was the one I wanted! He liked to joke with me .. not
like Jahn who wanted mostly to sit by Mommy and put his hand on her.

"Are you ready to go see Arly and Leyean?" Danki's voice reminded me of the
two girls.

"Oh yes!" I certainly was! I couldn't wait to tell them that it had worked.
Well I guess it had worked. We had planned how it was we were gonna get
Unk'Farr'in to stay and be my daddy. And now he was! I couldn't wait to
tell them. I jumped down off the chair and ran toward the door.

But Yarik .. he's strong .. grabbed me up. "Whoa, son .. you have to wait
for us old folks."

I giggled. He was so funny! I didn't mind havin' to go slower .. not when
he carried me. I liked him a lot. He told me he was Unk'Farr'in's daddy. I
laughed at that too! Unk'Farr'in was too big to have a daddy!

I saw Arly and Leyean before they did and I pushed against him .. my new
Grampa .. to let him know I wanted down. Then I ran to the girls, "I gotta
Daddy! I gotta Daddy!"
