Missing The Action

They popped into the skies over the location Bohoc thought Triss might be
and Farr'in had Tergath immediately start to call out for Trissana.

The brown told him that Bohoc had been able to hear her, but only faintly
and then they began the search in earnest.

It wasn't to much later that Farr'in saw the other dragon turn and dive
and a second more to figure out what was happening as he finally caught
sight of the big black dragon who had Triss trapped.

Tergath didn't need to be told what he to. The brown put on a burst of
speed and caught up to Bohoc. Farr'in made no move to hold his friend
back as he angled downward to try and drive the second dragon off of
Trissana. From his vantages point he could see she was struggling to get
away. to make enough room between them to take to the
air But so far....

Tergath dove. But before they could get to close the black he was
suddenly raked by dragon fire, and sharp talons as Bohoc beat them to
the Wilder. But he wasn't a wilder -- and the smaller Bohoc did little damage.

Tergath caught up to the faster, smaller dragon and also took in the
scene below. Roaring a challenge, they continued towards the large,
silent Black dragon.

Realizing his peril, and having the constant barrage to return coming
from his rider, Shamir, launched into the air, screaming his indignation
and unsatisfied lust, he teleported before Tergath's attack could be realized.

Bohoc and Tergath circled once before landing near the injured Trissana.
As their riders slipped off their backs, Trevor appeared over the edge of
the hillside, running and sliding as quickly as he could over the uneven ground.

Bohoc nuzzled the injured Trissana. Andahar was already putting salves on
Trissana's wounds when Trevor reached
them.

Panting, breathlessly, Trevor asked, "Where's Nikol? And how did you
find us?"

"Bohoc found you," Farr'in came up behind them after landing. He'd kept
Tergath up a little longer to make sure the black was well and truly gone
before he gave the brown orders to land.

"There's gonna be a few relieved people back in the Cleft who will be
happy to know that the news of you demise was greatly exaggerated."

"I'll bet," Trevor grinned slightly looking up at the man. "And I'll bet
they'll welcome me back with open arms just seconds before they start
chewing us out for what happened."

"Don't you think you dissevered to be *chewed out* a bit?" Farr'in met
his eyes. "I know damn well you didn't mean to do anything so stupid. And
Lenna herself would have been the first one to yell at you if she'd known
why you over worked your dragon trying to find her the way you did..."

"I did not over use Triss!" Trevor said heatedly and tried to stand up to
face him but Andahar grabbed onto his arm and pulled him back down so her
could finish his repair work.

"Hold still!"

"I know you didn't... not on purpose," the stocky rider's temper had
cooled somewhat. "I'm sorry Trev... it's just that..."

"I know.." the younger riders said, his own anger over the other riders
words slowly dissipating. "We all want her back."

"Yes we do Farr'in agreed. "But not at the expense of another dragon and
her rider. If anything had happened to you and Triss.. Lenna never would
have forgiven herself."

Trevor dropped his head down to his chest and Farr'in could see that his
words had hit a sore spot.

"I didn't realize Triss was as tired as she was until we teleported," he
said softly. And no one was in any doubt of the pain his admission had
cost him. "She thought she could do it, but I should have been stronger
in telling her no, but we both just wanted to find Lenna and help
Blanchie."

"I know Trev," Farr'in reached out and placed his hand on the younger
mans shoulder. "I know. We all want that."

"I've got to check on her," Trevor stood up quickly before Andahar could
stop him and moved to go to Triss. Both riders understood his need to
check on her after the scare she'd had and let him go. Both would have
done the same thing had it been their own dragons who'd just gone through
what she had.

"How is she?" Farr'in asked Bohoc's rider, who's dragon hadn't left
Trissana's side since they arrived.

"Scared...," Andahar replied turning to look at them. "But Bohoc is
working to calm her. I will need to look at her when I get a chance to
make sure she was not more injured then just being scared for her life."

Farr'in nodded and sat down. The two of them spoke a bit more until
Trevor came back to join them. Something had been bugging Farr'in for
the last few minutes and then it hit him.

He stood up and looked around as some nagging thought entered his mind.
"You said Nikol was with you when we arrived. *How did you find us?*"

Trevor nodded his head and then stood up looking around. "He was here
with me went we started out and arrived here. You mean you didn't see
him?"

Farr'in shook his head. "No just you and Triss. But you stay here and
tend to Triss. Andahar and I will go look for him," he nodded towards his
partner, who stood up and after one last look to make sure he got all of
Trevor's injuries taken care of, moved off after Farr'in to look for the
blaster.

It didn't take them long to find him. But they'd had to go back and look
a second time, because he'd been laying in the back of the crevasse he'd
fallen into and had landed in a dark part so they had missed him the first
time.

Farr'in picked the man up and carried him back to where they had set up
their camp then laid him down on a pallet Trevor had made up, and stood
back to let Andahar in to look the man over.

It didn't take long for the Nomad to go over him and tend to the wounds
he'd suffered, and by that time Nikol had woken and has been given a run
down on what had happened with the Black dragon after he'd been blown
into the hole.

"Look...I need to get back to the Cleft and let them know you two are
a live and okay," Farr'in told them as they sat around the small fire.
"I'm sure there are a few people back home who will be happy to know
that you're alive so they'll stop worrying so much about you."

Trevor looked up at him.

"Give us just a few minutes and we'll join you," Trevor told him and
started to get up.

"NO!!" Farr'in told him sharply. "You've already found out what happens
when you try and teleport on a tired dragon. Triss isn't going *Anywhere*
until she's rested and Tergath and Bohoc are going to make sure she is
before they'll allow her to try and fly home."

He could see that Trevor wanted to argue with him, but Triss must have
said something to him, because he backed down without saying a word.
Farr'in got up then and motioned for Andahar to follow him back over to
their dragons.

"I want you to stay here with them," he told the man who's actions
tonight had raised his respects. "Have Bohoc keep his eyes and ears
open for any sign of that black coming back. I'll be gone long enough
to let them know these two are okay and then I'll come back."

"We will keep our eyes and ears open," Andahar grinned at his use of
the new words. "We will keep them safe until your return."

"I know you will," he said and started to pat the man on the shoulder,
but remembered how he'd pulled away before and lowered his hand back to
his side. "I'll try not to be gone to long."

................

When Farr'in arrived back sometime later no one noticed that the smile
on his face somehow seemed wrong. He went through the motions doing and
saying all the right things
as he past out some food to them that he'd brought back with him.

But deep inside where he didn't let them see, his anger and hate for the
black was building for what he was now forced to do.

Then he really didn't have any choice. There was nothing Trevor could do
at this time. Not without causing harm to or even killing his Triss. That
Farr'in would never allow.

Not even if Trevor never spoke to him again. Farr'in had to do what he
felt was right. No matter that he'd rather be back helping the others.
But Triss couldn't be put into danger right now.
He thought of how he himself would feel if he later found out someone had
kept this news from him if it had been Meena or Demee... and knew he'd be
out for someone's blood. For the two of then had become everything to him.
It was bad enough with Lenna missing and no one knowing where she was or
if she was all right...

One thing was for sure. Somehow no matter how long it took. He would see
the black dragon dead... if not by his own hands then others... for today
he had signed his own death warrant.

==============================

Nrpg: Well Farr'in won't allow Triss to try to fly back until she's
rested.... he found out something when he went back to Cleft but he will
not tell Trevor because he knows Trev will try to go back... and Triss
is in no shape to try....

Tags to you John... after Trev finds out what Farr'in is hiding....

Arlene and Mike... they can't go home to soon... Figure it'll be a few
hours at lease until Triss is able for it...

Alton... let's get things rolling :)
