(NRPG: Here is Kat's take on Day 8(I hope I got the times right). I was
going to hold off on sending this until things start rolling on Day 9
and then add that to this. I decided otherwise thinking the post might
get too long. So this is just day 8 up to the egg snatching.)

Day 8 (late morning/early afternoon)

 Katrina was not a happy Dragonrider. Last night, just like yesterday,
she had not slept well. The dream of the drowning Seth and the vague
dragon shape saving her brother instead of her came back. And now after
spending the morning looking for Lenna without success, Kat's spirits were
low and she was irritable. It also didn't help that not only was Lenna gone,
but the blaster Nikol and C'aranth as well. Warrenfolk were going amiss and
Kat was ticked at the lack of success in finding them. Kat threw a dagger
at the ground in front of her in frustration.

 Things weren't totally lost, they had found Blanchie, but in such a
sorry state that it pained and worried Kat. Kat looked up at the tent
that held her patrol partner's ill dragon not far off. As Kat watched
the Healer Abby under the tent she also saw a glint of iridescent blue
nearby outside. Azure was keeping watch over her good dragon friend.
Indeed, Azure had stayed nearby Blanchie through a good deal of her
ordeal, and Kat smiled at that dedication

 <Azure I'm going to grab a bite to eat. Which reminds me, I don't
believe you have eaten lately either>.

 <Blanchie is still not well. I shouldn't leave yet>.

 <Azure you are right, and I to am concerned about Blanchie, and Lenna as
well. I think Blanchie will be fine in the healer's care for a time without
her having to work around your big balk>.

 Katrina sensed a dragon equivalent of a sigh as her dragon
mindspoke, <I will get something to eat, but I wont be gone for long.>

 Katrina smiled as she replied with,(No I am sure you wont be>.

 Katrina then picked her dagger off the ground, and sheathed it as she
headed off to get something to eat, and then maybe a short catnap.

(A couple hours later)

 After getting some lunch and taken a short dreamless nap, Kat once again
was preparing to go out and search for Lenna.

 "Excuse me," came a voice off to her right,"I have a message for you."

 Kat turned, and gave a thank you as she took a parchment from a boy
who had joined at the last hatching. The boy was a nomad, but Kat
couldn't recall his name. Kat leaned against Azure as she read the note
which was from her mom:

 Dearest Katrina,
All is well here. Business has been steady at the shop, and we have done
some traveling lately all in the name of 'the Biz'.
 We heard there will be another Hatching soon. Seth and I will be coming
by. Your father will be away looking into another business source. I've
convinced him into taking Serina with him Katrina. I myself have done quite

some dealing in 'the Biz' myself, and I thought Serina should get a chance
to try. She can be flighty sometimes, but she has the talent for persuasion
like your father.
 Take care Katrina. Seth and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Love,
your mother.

Kat rolled the parchment up and placed it in Azure's saddle bag. She didn't
have time to do anything else with it now, the other riders in the search
party were ready to leave. As Kat was mounting she herad Azure.

 <It will be good to see your family again wont it my rider? I like your
young sibling, he is a pleasent boy. I hope he will bring me a treat. And
you know he has some aff...>

 Kat cut Azure off with a curt,<Don't say it. We don't have time. Let
us be off now.>

 <As you wish my rider>, replied Azure quietly.

 As they took to the air Kat thought of the upcoming visit of Seth
and Tess, but not with complete happiness, with an uneasiness. She
shook herself to dispel the uneasiness and thought to herself,*It is
silly to be concerned. Seth is way too young. The affinity is faint.
Nothing is going happen.*

*********************
(Early evening of day 8)

 Kat was polishing her dragon dagger in her apartment when the concerned
voice of Azure entered her mind.

<Something has happened to Triss and her rider. They did not come out
of teleport after their search for the rogue warren. Oh it is terrible,
poor Triss and the mapmaker.>

 Kat dropped her dagger on her desk and went out to Azure's ledge. She
patted her dragon in comfort and spoke,(III'm sure they will be fine.
Maybe they ended up elsewhere, but are alright.>

 Kat rested her head on Azure's neck as she thought of Trevor. She
remebered how Lenna and her use to complain about Trevor, when they had
to haul him around for his mapmaking, but Kat had grown to like Trevor.
And then there was Triss, sweet Triss and still young. Kat couldn't help
but think of Cynthia as well-she must be terribly upset too.

 As Kat looked out over the Warren with concerned at this latest
developement she thought,*How many more will go amiss? What's next?
Those blasted rogues it started with them. I hope things will end soon.
The rogue's warren found and delt with, and all the Cleft members found
and alright.*

(late evening day  8)

 When Kat had went to bed she only tossed and turned. Then after what
seemed like an eternity she drifted off to sleep, only to be abrubtly
awaken by an all too familiar mindvoice.

 <They are gone>, came the frantic voice of Azure!

 Kat only slightly awake mumbled back<Yes I know, Lenna, Trevor, Triss,
Nikol, and C'aranth. We can't do anything now though.>

 <No not them! The Warrenlady and the mapmaker's Dame are gone! And
Syren is missing eggs!! A black dragon and men, probably rogues, took
the eggs! Ssssome eggs were destroyed. And my rider one of the egg's
taken was the queen egg!> Azure's last two phrases were accompanied
by keening from the iridescent blue.

 Katrina flew out of bed. She could see Azure pacing on her ledge like
a caged animal. Kat was irritated as well. She was so upset, so angry,
that she cussed and whipped her pillow across the room with such force
it knocked a chair over. She then threw on a cloak and ran out to Azure.
Not caring about a saddle, Kat jumped up on Azure between her neck ridges.

 <My rider that is not really safe>.

 Kat replied with determination, <I don't care! We aren't going far,
just down to the ground. We don't live that far up. There is no time
too waste we must see what is to happen now. Damn rogues!>

 As Azure carefully lifted off from the ledge Kat thought,*No more! We
will find our members, our eggs, and put a stop to these rogues! And I'm
going to be there no matter what.*

All: Well Katrina is ready willing and able to storm Jhezrael, find
Lenna(yeah Kat's going to do that-Alton, Barb and John know that), and
face whatever else occurs there. Death to the Rogues! mmaahhaawhhaaww<VBG>
