Meena stayed close to Amber throughout the evening of the flood and into the
next day, Only slipping out to stop and se Kellie. Amber was safely
disguised as a nomad and feeling on the whole much better, so Meena felt
little guilt. In fact Amber had told her to go and see to her family.

Demee was of course, safely tucked in at Thina's with Sasha. It relieved her
so much to see the two boys getting along now. Farr'in had worked his magic
and still made both of them feel their importance to him. Farr'in was with
Katrina trying to find her sister. If it was true that Vorbis had her she
was in grave danger and she needed help now.  Meena knew that Farr'in was
aware of the danger and would be careful. Not to mention, Meena wasn't sure
Vorbis knew exactly how difficult it was to take on Dragonriders .. in fact,
she was fairly certain he almost completely discounted the dragons
altogether .. and that would be his downfall. Oh she would love to see that!

Meena's more immediate concern .. something she could do something about ..
was Kellie. The question of who her wingsecond would be, had been up in the
air before the flood .. but now that she'd decided who she wanted, fates had
been against her. With Kellie's future uncertain, the question was tossed
back up in the air.

Vonn had relayed to her the news from both Trissana and Varie, and neither
eased her mind at all.

Upon reaching the med center, she was directed to Kellie's room and told
that the visit could not be long. She promised, and headed down the hall.

She found Turner sitting beside Kellie's bed, holding on to her hand. His
face was pure misery and for a moment Meena almost left. Maybe she shouldn't
be bothering him right now ..

But Turner heard her enter and lifted his head to look at her. Her heart
went out to the big man with the hollow eyes and pale face. Recent events
had taken their toll on the Farr'in's strong younger brother.

"I'm sorry .. should I come back later?" she asked taking a step back.

"No .. It's okay," he said, his usually full rich voice, sounded empty and
weak.

"Oh Turner, I'm so sorry .."

He nodded, and she winced slightly, thinking he'd probably heard that a
hundred times, and her saying it wasn't making things better.

"I know." He said, "Kellie would be glad you came .."

"I've been wanting to come since it happened, but .." she paused, "I've been
tied up with other things, and I know she hasn't been alone."

"No, she hasn't."

"Turner?" she asked hesitantly. "What's gonna happen?"
