<< Day Four - Late Morning >>
>Demee looked up from playing with his toys and smiled at Cynthia, "Can I go see
the Queen?" he asked.
>Cynthia looked at Farr'in who gave a subtle nod of his head. "Of course," she
replied, "just be careful near the ledge."
>"I will," Demee said as he jumped up and made his way for the door.
If there was anyone thing in the whole world that Demee loved more then
anything else, it was spending time with dragons .. particularly queen
dragons! They were so BIG! And Shiny! And not nearly so silly as some of
those smaller dragons.
He skidded to a halt directly in front of the shimmering platinum Syren, a
grin nearly as big as his face beaming up at her. <Hello, Queen Syren!> he
said respectfully, though with barely contained excitement. He'd learned
that one should not just begin climbing on any dragon without permission ..
and he certainly did not want to upset this one. She was so beautiful!
<Hello, little human,> Syren said turning her gray eyes on the small child.
<Cynthia said I could come and see you.> He beamed brightly. <It's okay,
isn't it?>
She nodded her head and let her willingness fill her thoughts which she sent
to him. <Of course.>
Demee nearly jumped for joy, and found himself moving toward her, but he
stopped himself just short of touching her, <I used to sit with Ami-thisss
when we lived far away.> He told her, <She was a pretty queen too. All
sparkly and stuff.>
Syren nodded, <Amethyst is indeed a pretty dragon.> She approved of the boys
high regard for queens.
<She would tell me stories sometimes,> he told her, <Do you know any
stories?>
Syren thought for a moment, <I have never thought about that ..>
<I bet you could tell good stories too. Is your skin warm too?> he asked,
quickly changing subjects without regard, as all small children tend to do.
<I think it is.> Syren told him, <Would you like to see for yourself?>
Demee barely contained the chortle as he nodded and stepped closer, timidly
reaching out and patting her leg. He eyed her out of the corner of his eye
to be sure she still didn't mind, and then got more confident, gently
rubbing her tough, yet very smooth and warm hide. <Oh! Very nice!> he
smiled, and lay his head gently on the queen huge leg, <Just like Vonn ..
only more sparkly!>

<< Day 4 ? - Late (With Arly & Leyean) >>
>Then the woman somewhat assured that they were for now safe. Wrapped her arm
protectively around her son and drifted back to sleep.
Her body was weak with pain and exhaustion, but Garien was safe. He was
alive .. and Krayel's deliverer's were here to help her. They'd called
themselves Dragonridah's, and assured her that the huge beasts would not
hurt her.
Now she was sure they had been sent by the God to save them .. everything
would be fine .. and she could rest ..
Her dreams were surprisingly not filled with the vile smoky death she's been
running from. Now they were filled with visions of young pale saviors with
hay colored hair, who spoke haltingly in her tongue, and rode huge monstrous
beasts. She would be safe .. and so would what was left of Krayel's tribe ..
Regards,
Demee
