Cynthia watched the door close behind Dan'yar. She managed a wry smile
as she said, "I had no idea he'd consider it such a bad idea."

"I'm sure you didn't," Katrina replied.

"What about Seth, though. Maddy said that he carried himself very well
when she went to visit her parents. He's also helped your father with
his business, right?"

[A While Later]

Cynthia rapped on the door of S'lomon's office.

"Come in," he called out.

She opened the door and stepped in, "So what was so interesting that you
had to show me in person?"

"Not as much as what as a who," S'lomon replied standing and walking
around his desk. "Feysal came in here earlier with a lovely gash in his
arm. He won't tell me where he got it, but I'd say it came from the
same kind of single edged swords the Nomads are so fond of."

"Where is he now?" Cynthia asked with a look of concern on her face.

S'lomon briefly tried to determine if she was concerned about Feysal or
about the trouble he could cause the Warren. "He in an exam room. I
stitched up the wound, but I got him to stay put by telling him I wanted
to change the bandage before he left."

They turned a corner and Cynthia smiled, "You can be devious."

S'lomon returned the smile, "I know." He stopped in front of a door and
affixed his best concerned healer look in his face. He opened the door
and led the way in.

Cynthia took a moment to survey the room. S'lomon was pulling fresh
bandages out of a drawer. Feysal was lying on the bed looking a bit
pale, and next to him, looking concerned, was Saleah. Cynthia had not
expected to see her here.

Cynthia walked over to the bed, and stopped by the foot, "S'lomon tells
me you were wounded."

"It is nothing," Feysal replied.

"That's not what I'm told. It appears to be a sword wound."

"What would a woman know for swords?" Feysal asked.

Cynthia regarded him cooly, "You seem to forget that I am the
Warrenlady, and I know how to use a sword."

"You are a woman."

Cynthia could see that she was unlikely to get anywhere down that path,
so she decided to try another, "If you were not wounded by a sword, then
what did happen."

"It was a matter of honor," Feysal said proudly.

Cynthia sighed and turned to Saleah, "Can you tell me what happened?"

The Nomad woman glanced at Feysal, and then looked at Cynthia and said,
"I can not say."

NRPG:
This isn't all, but I've been having hard drive problems and I wanted to
get this out while things are working. Hopefully my computer will now
behave and I'll be able to finish this post.
