PLAYER: Simon GaleName: Memnon
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race: Nomad
Height: 5" 8'
Weight: 75 kg
Hair: Black
Eyes: Emerald Green
Appearance:
At a height of 5"8', Memnon is a slightly taller Nomad than most and has the lean, light-muscled build typical of his tribe. His skin is a deeply tanned brown due to many days outdoors and his hair a deep black. His basic facial features are common among his tribe, a long, fine-boned structure out of which a set of unusually emerald-green eyes stare over a long finely formed nose. There the handsome features end though, a horrific burn stretching across the right side of his head, leaving no hair on that side of his head, just a lick of smooth white scar tissue. Thanks to the skill of the healer who cared for this wound, Memnon fortunately still has the use of both of his ears and eyes. Memnon's wardrobe is sparse and simple, only wearing extra or elaborate clothing when either extreme cold or society demands it. He moves gracefully and quickly on his feet and is economical in his movements.
Abilities & Disabilities:
Memnon has a natural ability with bows, both on and off the ground. He has a phobia of close spaces, and a great fear of deep water. He also struggles with an anger that can take over his emotions and send him into an unpredictable and dangerous mood, but is gradually learning to calm that anger and use it to his purposes.
History:
Memnon was born and raised in one of the smaller Nomad tribes, the Dra'ell, an upbringing strife with constant change and hardship. As a small child he lived a relatively carefree life in this violent habitat, running and playing with his fellow children. As he grew older he was taught the lore and history of his tribe by the elders, and learned how to hunt and shoot with his father and his brothers. He also began to learn the sword making skills the Dra'ell were famous for. At the age of 15 he was initiated into the tribe as a man, resulting in ritual scars across his biceps and greater responsibility. He continued to learn and grow, finding his place as a hunter in the tribe. Three and a half years later though, Memnon's world changed. A pair of wild dragons attacked his tribe's campground, high in the hills where the Dra'ell often retreated to forge their famous swords, slaughtering all and everyone. Memnon was out hunting, and arrived back late, as the two wilders feasted amongst the burnt remains of the Dra'ell. The despair he experienced on seeing his tribe destroyed drove him into a beserker rage that caused him to attack the two dragons, killing one and driving the other off. While in this fight, Memnon was caught by a gout of flame that burnt the right side of his head badly. He blacked out from the pain and was found by dragonriders from Cleft lying amongst the remains of his tribe's camp. They brought him back to the warren where he was nursed back to health. The healer that cared for him healed everything but his memories and mind and the scar he asked her to leave as a reminder.
Characteristics:
Still a young man in age, Memnon is nevertheless emotionally scarred by the loss of his tribe and subsequently spends a lot of time alone, trying to harness the terrible and often irrational anger he feels. He harbours a deep resentment against dragonkind after the loss of his tribe to two wilders and trusts few dragons beyond Rage, his bondmate. He is very agile and active with a quick and incisive mind that enables him to pick up new skills quickly. He is also quite illiterate and shows no desire to achieve intellectually despite any efforts by the teachers in the warren. Memnon is a restless and mysterious figure in the world, driven to larger and greater endeavors by his will to forget his past.
Dragon's name: Rage
Size: Medium sized dragon, well (but not heavily) defined musculature
Colour: Rust red with streaks of bright red/orange along his head, neck and the underside of his wings
Gender: Male
Characteristics:
A temperamental creature, Rage is only really controllable when Memnon is around. His mercurial attitude and fiery temper make him an difficult dragon to be around. His moods swing as the wind changes and his anger is terrible to see. He has great endurance and stamina, but is not exceptionally endowed in other aspects of physical prowess. He is quite agile and fast, but there are others quicker and more agile. When really angry, he goes into a kind of beserker rage and becomes a fearsome creature in a fight.
