[DL-D] Where'd She Go?

Dyanisa half woke up as Fae'Rhee left and sleepily figured that the girl was
going to relieve herself or something. Turning over she went back to sleep.

Quite awhile later, Dyanisa awoke again, this time all the way when she
didn't sense Fae'Rhee in the room with her. Sighing, she slipped out of
bed, threw on some clothes, stuck a knife in the waist of her pants and went
looking for the woman.

Dyanisa found it a bit ironic that she was worrying about a woman who was at
least seven years her senior and probably more than capable of looking after
herself. She liked Fae'Rhee and, for some mysterious reason, felt
responsible for her. Of course, if she should take it into her head to
worry about anyone, it probably should be the man, Nrocinu. From what she'd
seen, the two of them were very close. It didn't make sense for him to
leave like that.

Dyanisa walked into the Med Center. One of the few people Fae'Rhee knew was
here, it made sense for her to come and see him. She walked quietly to
Tair'n's room.

She found the door and raised her hand to knock, until she heard the voices.
She pressed her ear against the door and listened.

"-that she's looking for... mate," came a muffled voice. "...came by here
to see if... came by... see you." Nrocinu, Dyanisa thought, that must be who
they're talking about.

"He... here earlier," a deeper voice said, possibly Tair'n. "But... left
sometime..."

"...wish that... see... strong," the first voice said, to quietly to understand.

"...sure?" the second voice asked. "... too...she's....age..."

Dyanisa stood away from the door again and knocked. No point giving
yourself neck pains if you couldn't understand what was being said.

The first voice replied and Dyanisa went in. Automatically, she scanned the
room, her eyes coming to rest first on Fae'Rhee's sad face.

"Yes Dyanisa?" a familiar voice asked.
As Jayleigh called out for the person to enter, she saw, hope and
then sadness in the younger girls face, when the person entering
proved to be the young wilder Dyanisa, opal Sienra's rider.

"Yes Dyanisa?" she asked.

She finished her scan of the room, and quickly ducked her head to hide her
slight smile when she saw the Warrenlady sitting very near Tair'n. It was a
bit to late to be here for just a casual visit.

"Come..find..her.." Dyanisa said once she got her amusement under control.
"Woke ..not find her."

There was a pause as Jayleigh conferred with her dragon. In the back of her
mind, Dyanisa could feel Sienra grumble as the queen woke her up.

"Dy, have you been looking out for the two of them?" Jayleigh asked. She
nodded in reply.

"Bath and food.." she smiled and wrinkled up her nose as she recalled how
awful they had smelled. "Better now... we go?" Sleep was a good thing and
she really wanted to go do some more of it.

"Go?" Jayleigh asked. Dyanisa was confused by the warrenlady's confusion.
She didn't think it got much clearer than 'go,' as in leave.

"Sleep..not..not..," she frowned. How was she supposed to explain asking
for a dismisal when the only word she knew that expressed leaving was 'go'
and that hadn't worked?

<*Sienra?*> she implored her sleepy dragon.

<Ssh,> there was a pause. <Jayleigh wants you to bring Fae'Rhee and Nrocinu
to her after breakfast.>

That was dismisal if Dyanisa had ever heard one. Quickly she reached for
the girl but Fae'Rhee shook her off. Now what, Dy thought with annoyance.
Her bed was really starting to look very comfortable. Dy watched in
confusion as the woman reached out to touch Jayleigh's shorter hair, and
tilted her head as if she was asking a question.

"Maybe you can take her by Beret's tomorrow and see if she'd like to have
her hair cut?" Jayleigh said. Beret's? Dyanisa committed the name to
memory so she could find it tomorrow.

"Will find," she said, noddind her head while asking Sienra to tell Fae'Rhee
it was time to go. This time when she reached for the girl, she came with.
Just before Dy shut the door behind them, she glanced back to see the
relieved expression on Jayleigh's face. No, she didn't think Jayleigh had
come on warren business tonight.

As they left the med center, Fae'Rhee seemed to radiate sadness like the
desert sun poured out heat. Dy had a feeling that Nrocinu wasn't going to
be coming back and Fae'Rhee probably felt the same.

They both paused as the cold wind seemed to blow right through them,
freezing them to the bone. At least it probably wouldn't snow tonight, it
was too dry and bitter cold. Impulsively, Dy reached out and took
Fae'Rhee's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

The woman looked at her in surprise; Dy smiled gently, trying to show she
understood. And she did, though Fae'Rhee probably didn't think so. She
knew all to well what it was like to loose everyone you loved in a single
sweep of fate. At least Fae'Rhee wouldn't be alone, not like she had been.
Grimly she pushed those memories away. That had not been one of the better
periods of her life, to say the least, and there were very few things that
she had done then that she didn't feel remorse, if not shame, over now.

Both of them shivered and Dyanisa tugged on Fae'Rhee's hand. That was all
the warning the woman had before Dy broke into a run for their rooms,
dragging Fae'Rhee behind her.

**Next Morning**

Dy went from deep sleep to wide awake as her internal alarms kicked in. A
glance out the window showed her that it was a couple hours past dawn, while
her stomach noisily told her it was a couple hours past breakfast as well.

Quietly she got dressed and went to find some breakfast. By the time she
got back Fae'Rhee was awake, her stomach rumbling just as loud as Dy's was.
Breakfast disappeared in record time.

<Don't forget your supposed to take her to see Viktroy's rider after
breakfast,> Sienra reminded her rider after they had cleaned up.

<*How could I? She really needs some clothes, doesn't she.*>

<Why I do believe your right!> Sienra said with heavy irony.

<*Oh, just tell her to get ready, all ready,*> Dy said exasperated. <Tell
her she's going to meet-*>

<The bang lady?> Sienra said mischevously.

<*The ^what^ lady?*>

<Never mind,> Sienra sighed. <Consider her informed.>

NRPG: Just a quick question, exactly what climate, in general, are we going
by for weather? Cause I don't think its the one I'm currently residing in
(Minnesota...need I say more :)
