** Danika **
>"My Queen Viktroy said R'ven is awake now, so I'll go on in and talk to
>him," Jayleigh turn to her. "If you'll wait here for me, I hope this won't
>take long."
>
>Danika's smile was half curved at best. The girl was more than worried about
>her reception from the father she had never met. Jayleigh's heart went out
>to her. She couldn't really imagine what the girl was going through. Her
>parents had always been there for her and her brother Ja'ks.
<Will he love me? Will he even accept me?> Danika wondered fretfully. The
moment was here at long last and Danika was terrified. Her breath quickened
with anxious anticipation.
>"It'll be all right," she told the young girl. "R'ven is a wonderful person
>and a sweetheart to boot. I'm sure he'll want to see you. So don't worry.
>All right?"
>
>"I'll try not to," Danika said and her smile widened a little. "It's just
>that meeting him is all I've thought about for a long time. I can't help but
>be a little nervous."
<A little nervous? That's an understatement!> Kalindeth piped up.
<Oh, *that* really helps calm me down! Just rub it in a little more!>
Danika snapped back. She was instantly sorry that she spoke so harshly to
her queen, <I'm sorry Kali, please forgive me I'm just....>
<Nervous, I know. Though I'll never understand why you humans make these
things so complicated,> Kalindeth replied forgivingly.
>"No, I'm sure you can't help it. Now let me go in and break the news to the
>proud papa," The black-haired woman said and hugged the girl briefly, then
>turned and started down the hall to the room she'd left hours earlier.
Danika waited nervously, shifting from foot to foot and watching the door
intently. What was actually a few minutes seemed like an eternity.
The door opened and Jayleigh smiled at her and gestured for her to enter.
She walked in slowly, her heart pounding in anticipation.
>"R'ven of Daere Warren...I want you to meet your daughter, Danika, formerly
>of Epion Warren."
"Rider of the queen Kalindeth," the petite queenrider added, not knowing
what to say now that the long awaited reunion had arrived. She twisted her
hair around her finger nervously, a habit she and her mother had shared.
The two looked at each other for a long time, studying each other. Tears
stung Danika's turquoise eyes. There were so many questions to ask. And he
looked so pale, lying there in the med center bed. Danika feared for him
and couldn't stand the thought of her father being wounded so, not after
just losing her mother. What was he thinking right now, she wondered.
"I'm pleased to meet you. I've waited a long time for this," Danika said
shyly.

** Kalindeth **
The gold and silver queen had eaten well at the feeding grounds and then
went about the business of getting to know the other dragons. She found all
of them very friendly.
She landed near a distraught looking blue dragon, attracted to him because
he was so troubled, such was the caring nature of the queen.
<I am Kalindeth> the queen said in introduction, looking at the blue dragon
with concern in her turquoise eyes.
<Amadith,> the brilliant blue responded distractedly.
<What's wrong?> Kalindeth asked.
<My rider...> Amadith proceeded to show Kalindeth the disturbing thought
and memories he had received from Tair'n.
Kalindeth lovingly snuggled up to Amadith and cuddled him close, coiling
her large body around him protectively while she listened to the blue tell
her of his woes.

** Fae'Rhee **
The dark haired wilder's head throbbed painfully, the nausea she had
experienced earlier had returned with a vengeance and her neck hurt, the
light of the torches hurt her eyes.
She dutifully fed and oiled her hatchling, in spite of the pain. She knew
she had to take care of this beautiful creature who was her soul mate.
Fae'Rhee then got ready for bed and thought of the strange thing that
Sienra had told her. The image of the location where he, Maeve, and Jadain
had been taken captive, it was aerial, the same kind of aerial image a
dragon would give. Fae'Rhee thought it very strange and it troubled her.
<You need to go to the med center!> Alustriel chided.
<No, no need,> Fae'Rhee grumbled back.
She slid into her bed and quickly drifted off to sleep. Her sleep was
fitful and the small wilder tossed and turned, Her sleep disturbed by a
horrible dream.
Zert walked up to the wilder and gave her a kiss. He winked at her and
stepped back. Suddenly his image started dissolving and twisting about,
changing form. Fae'Rhee watched in horror and rapt fascination.
Then, instead of the man, a dragon stood in front of Fae'Rhee, looking at
her familiarly with his draconian eyes.
<Who are you?> Fae'Rhee asked.
<You know who I am,> the dragon said.
The dragon took off, soaring and swooping and doing tricks. Fae'Rhee
laughed in delight at the spectacle.
Suddenly the dragon turned and swooped down toward her. It opened it's maw
and fire spewed forth. Hot, blistering flames.
Fae'Rhee wanted desperately to awaken from the dream. She tried, but could
not. The dream, the terrible nightmare kept replaying in her mind.

** Alustriel **
The turquoise and fuscia dragon watched as her rider slept restlessly. She
could still feel the pain throbbing in her rider's head, the churning
stomach. It greatly distressed the hatchling. She watched the wilder's
small frame thrash about, and shifted uncomfortably at the disturbing
dreams coming from Fae'Rhee's troubled mind.
The wilder's face glistened with beads of hot perspiration, and she was
hotter than humans are supposed to be. Her curly locks clung to her face,
wetted down by the feverish perspiration.
Suddenly the rider's small form began to jerk about, convulsing in a
frightful manner, scaring the young hatchling who was watching protectively.
<Fae'Rhee, wake up!> Alustriel called to her rider in a panic.
Fae'Rhee did not respond. Her small body continued to shake and thrash
about, her head bouncing repeatedly off the ground and her arms and legs
banging about wildly.
It pained the hatchling to watch. In a panic she sent out a distress call
to the warren.
<Please! Someone help! Something is wrong with my Fae'Rhee>
******
** Fae'Rhee **
The wilder opened her eyes, and flinched as the light hurt her eyes and her
head. She tried to sit up but hands held her down.
"Lie down, your not going anywhere," a female voice said. Fae'Rhee didn't
recognize the voice.
"Do you know where you are?" the woman asked.
Fae'Rhee looked about uncertainly. "Daere," she said thickly, as much a
question as an answer.
"What is you're name?"
Fae'Rhee had to think. It was there, but she had to reach for it, try to
grasp it. "Fae'Rhee," she answered uncertainly.
"Good," the woman said, "Do you know who I am?"
Fae'Rhee shook her head. It throbbed and the back of her head was tender.
"I'm Kizera, I'm a healer," the older woman supplied.
Fae'Rhee shook her head uncertainly. The only thing she could remember was
the dream.
Kizera looked at her with concern, "You are running a fever and you had a
seizure. You hit your head pretty hard, you may have a concussion. You need
to stay here a while so we can run some tests..."
"Zert..." Fae'Rhee murmurred.
"What about Zert?" the woman asked.
"Zert's a dragon," Fae'Rhee said.

NRPG: Tag Niki! (oh the things that come from a fevered mind! <VEG>) Please
don't kill the patient. Barb and I decided to keep Fae'Rhee around since
she's the searcher, I'll just write her as my secondary.
