[DL-D] Dancing is rather tiring

To Rezsia's surprise, she and Alex actually had a fun time at the little
feast prepared in honor of saving Jadain, Maeve, and Zert. It wasn't quite
like a hatching feast, not nearly as large, but it was festive at least.
Someone had found a band to play, and people were dancing on a makeshift
dance floor. Alex tried to persuade Rezsia to come dancing with him, and she
kept declining. Finally, getting rather fed up with his constant asking, she
stepped out onto the dance floor. The dance was an upbeat dance, with a
couple tricky dance steps. Alex guided Rezsia through them, with a few
stumbles and mistakes, but by the end of the night Rezsia was dancing as
well as the rest of them.
She caught glances of Maeve and Ja'ks sometimes through the crowd, and
jealousy rose up each time. She stamped it down, however; Ja'ks had a free
will to choose whoever he wanted. If he wanted Maeve, that was all good. If
he wanted her....well, he wasn't doing a good job winning her affections. He
did, however, seem to notice her dancing with Alex; she caught him staring
in their direction on numerous occassions.
Strangely, Rezsia didn't see Jayleigh anywhere in the crowd. Someone that
important wouldn't be hidden too much; and knowing Jayleigh, she would have
probably been on the dance floor with one of her two lovers. So something
big must have happened for her to miss her son's welcome-back party.
All that dancing, and all that fun, eventually wore on Rezsia, and she
finally left the dance floor with Alex late in the evening. People were
already beginning to leave off for their own places, some two by two.
"My lady, that was probably the most fun I've had in quite a while," Alex
said, kissing the back of her hand gallantly.
"Well, I suppose I'll have to admit it wasn't all *that* bad," Rezsia
replied, gracing him with a smile. "Those steps aren't all that hard, once
you get the pattern."
"That is precisely what I was trying to tell you." He smiled at her, then,
bidding her goodnight, bowed and headed to the waiting Talafal. With a wave,
and a farewell shout, the dragon took off, sending them into the night.
<Now, that was fun, wasn't it?> the voice of her dragon admonished. <I told
you it would be.>
*Oh, hush and pick me up. Don't gloat; it doesn't become you.*
She could hear the dragon's chuckle in her head as the metallic dragon
landed in the torchlight beside her. She mounted up on the large dragon's
back, and they flew up to their apartment.
Reflecting back on the night, she realized she did have a good time. Alex
was a nice partner; he was certainly a good dancer. She supposed that maybe
they could do other nights like this. She and Ja'ks didn't do things like
this too often; they'd always been going seperate ways, meeting
infrequently. He was still her best friend, but the past few weeks had been
trying on any further relationship they might have had.
Jezabel landed on the ledge, and Rezsia leaped off the metallic dragon,
heading inside. She quickly changed her clothes, and, too tired to even
stand a minute more, let alone sharpen and clean her knives, she fell into
the bed, dead on her feet.
NRPG: Okay, Rezsia onto the next day. :) Tom: if you want to elaborate more,
go ahead.
