[DL-D] Morning Comes To Soon...
by

Morning came to early.

Jayleigh wasn't yet ready to face the day ahead of her. All the interviews
she'd have to conduct today with the people involved in the Healer Noni's
rescue, as well as those involved in the rescue of her son and Maeve.

She had to find answers to the question going around in her mind. Questions
as to why Noni had been out there alone in the first place without letting
anyone know she was leaving the Warren. But those were answers she was going
to have to wait on hearing until the healer awoke from whatever was keeping
her under.

Until then she would have to question the others who had been involved in
her rescue. One of them would have to be able to shed some light on the
strange happenings. Maybe Zert or that new rider, Nefiri, Danavin's rider.
Jayleigh had yet to meet the woman, as she had come in right after Jadain
had been found missing. As she recalled it was Rezsia who had seen the girl
settled in.

Well maybe it was about time she finely met the girl and learned more about
her. She could learn that when she interviewed her after breakfast. At the
same time she could pass on healer Kizera's request that the girl stay with
Fae'Rhee for the next few days until the girl was up and around.

She'd need to check on her new searcher herself sometime that morning. The
girl was to valuable to the Warren for her special talent. She just had to
be all right.

As she snuggled up closer to the warm body of her lover laying in the bed
beside her, her thoughts turned to the impending visit from Lord Gossimor.
with everything that had been happening lately she knew the man would be
arriving wanting to know why riders from her Warren had been reported as
having taken young girls and women from the towns in his domain and then
never heard from again.

Well that was partly his fault. Or that of his deputies, she thought. If
they had been advised of the missing women earlier they might have been
able to look into it sooner and saved themselves a lot of trouble. Jadain
might never have been taken and some of the other girls taken might have
been spared.

She darn sure was going to remind him of this fact too. the Warren wasn't
going to house all of the blame for Da'ntray's vicious acts. Or for his
betrayal to all of dragon kind and what they stood for.

At least everyone who'd been there to see to her son's release had arrived
back at the Warren alive and safe. While no one had died on their side..
there had been some injuries and she'd go by and see those who'd been
harmed. The Warren had been darn lucky that day. But then with the rider's
who lead the Wings, she expect nothing less.

<<Troy love are you awake yet?>> she sent the mental though out to her
dragon cuddling with Random out on the dragon's ledge.

<I'm wake but I'd rather still be asleep. Just as you should be.>

<<And why is that dear heart?>> Jayleigh laughed knowingly.

<After all you and Random's rider did last night when you were mating, I was
sure you would sleep all day.> the Queen's tone held a smile.

Jayleigh sighed a smile curved over her face as she remembered the lengths
Gerald had gone through last night to make her forget the Warrens problems.
He'd taken extra special care to drive her crazy with wanting him.

She turned and her violet-blue eyes looked up at his face. In sleep he
looked so innocent, but she knew better. No one could have done the things
he had done to her body last night and still be considered *innocent*. Her
tall Bard had come a long why in the time they had been together. She for
one was happy to see the changes in him.

He was something else... this man of hers.

Then her thought turned to the other man in her life. Tair'n.

How she prayed that the Doctor who'd arrived would be able to help him. To
bring him back to those who loved him. She missed his wit as much as she
missed his touch. The woman just had to be able to help him!!

<<Troy would you please ask Zenith's rider if he would be able to act as a
go between for the Healer here to help Tai?>> she was sure he would.

R'ven would do anything to help Tair'n get well. But she thought that there
was other reason's... reason's she herself didn't know about , that would
make him the perfect choice to help out. She knew something had happened in
that cave that no one was talking about. What ever it was, it had brought on
the condition her love was in right now.

She had asked R'ven to tell her... but he had been keeping something from
her, she knew it and he knew she knew it. But for the time being she would
have to let him deal with it. Maybe one day she would ask him about it. But
not right now. No matter how much she wanted to know, she'd have to trust he
knew what he was doing was the right thing.

Then there was the healers fee to worry about. A high price indeed. But
somehow she would come up with it. If the woman was as good as the Healer
Hall said she was, then any price would be cheep.

Damn!!

Where was C'nis when she needed him. More of a rouge than a dragonrider
really, but the man had known how to find what was needed and at the same
time get a good price for it. If only Velara hadn't of guarded her power the
way she had... then maybe the tall dark-headed rider would never have left.
And he'd be here to help her find a way to come up with the Healers fee....

The man could talk a town Lord out of an extra tithe and make the man think
it had been his own idea. For a smart woman, dear old Lara had really messed
up when she let the rider go. He was smooth that one. Maybe that was what
the old Warrenlady had been afraid of.

R'ven! She talk to him about it. He'd know how to help her.

<I have told Sienra and Amethyst that you will be by sometime this morning
to check up on their riders,> the Queen told her, in a quiet tone trying not
to disturb her rider's restfulness.

<<Thank you dear heart. I will see them when I go by to check on Amadith's
rider.>> Jayleigh returned. <<Have you had a chance to talk to the new young
Queen, Kalindeth?>>

<Of course!> came the happy reply. <She may be young but I believe she will
do well here. She is a smart one. She will fly soon if I am not mistaken.>

<<You rarely are love.> Jayleigh chuckled and wondered who the lucky rider
would be who won her. She also wondered how R'ven would take it.

<<Will you please ask Alustriel, and that new dragon, Danavin as well as the
school teach Zert to please come by my office sometime today after
breakfast? I will need to talk to all of them about what happened last night.>>

<I'm doing so now.> Troy told her. <You should know that Alustriel's rider
may not be able to talk to you. She is still having some problems and
Alustriel is a little worried about her rider. The school teacher was in to
see his mate and the girl got upset that he was there.>

<<Why was that?>> Jayleigh asked. Why would Fae'Rhee become upset with him
being there. The last time she had seen them together they had looked so
happy. What could have changed that?

< Alustriel says she doesn't understand her riders thoughts.>

<<Very well maybe I should go by the med center first thing this morning and
ask Danavin's rider if she will look to the girls needs.>>

Maybe the healer Kizera had a point when she'd ask Jayleigh to talk to the
new rider. She'd see about that this morning.

Reluctantly she pulled herself out of Gerald's arms and started to get up
out of the bed. A shower was what she needed to erase the sleep from her
mind. She didn't get far... strong muscular arms wrapped around her waist as
she started to rise and pulled her back onto the bed.

"Going somewhere?" he asked looking down into her violet-blue eyes. A sexy
smile covered his face as he moved his body over hers.

"Well I was planning on getting dressed and trying to pretend I know what
I'm doing while trying to run this Warren," she grinned. "But if you have a
better idea... I'm...ah... open for suggestions."

"Oh I'm sure I can come up with something," she heard him say and then his
lips were covering her's and she let him show her those ideas.

----------------------------

There was only time for a short bite to eat by the time she made it into the
dining hall. Danika the newest Queenrider was already seated at the family's
table when she took her seat.

"I'm so sorry I'm late," she told the younger girl. "I'm afraid I over slept
this morning."

"Well I think I can understand why," the queenrider replied. "Your son here
has been filling me in on all that's happened over the last couple of weeks."

"Yea well...." Jayleigh waved it off for the moment and leaned down to kiss
the top of her son's head before taking the seat next to him. Cal'an,
Tair'n's son was seated next to the boy. Both were staying for the moment at
her parents home. For it was felt that Cal'an would adjust better to his new
home if his friend was there with him. Jadain had had no problem with the
arrangement.

"So Danika, how did your first meeting go with your... father?" she asked
after Realee had set a full plate before her.

(Tag Morgie :)

A smile was still showing on her face when she past Vesta in the hallway on
the way into her office later that morning. The younger girl smiled
knowingly as she picked up her note pad and followed the Warrenlady into the
room. She was however smart enough not to make any comments about the reason
why.

"So how did it go with the Healer? Were you able to set up everything she'll
be needing or asked for?"

"Oh yes M'lady," the girls answered. "She seems like she knows what she's
doing. I'm had to ask Cally to set up times with the other dragon's to have
their riders come in to talk to her ..."

The girl went on to tell her what else the Healer had asked to be done and
then when she was finished they both got down to the papers waiting on
Jayleigh's desk.

By the time they had come to the last of the paperwork, Jayleigh was
reminded by the name on the bottom of the page of the up coming visit from
Lord Gossimor. Alex should know about that. She should warn him of his
Uncle's impending visit so that he wouldn't be surprised to see him. It
might also be a good idea to warn Dagion that she was expecting the man to
arrive here soon. Both men might find it a little...ah... well she was sure
they'd like to know he was coming.

<<Troy will you please ask...>> she started to say but the Queen finished
her sentence for her.

<Talafal and Breynath's rider have been informed that you wish to see them
later and they will both come after they have eaten, and after you have gone
by to see Amadith's rider.>>

<<Thank you love,>> she grinned. She got up and stretched, then turned to
look at the younger rider. "I'm going to head on over to the medical center
for a bit to check up on Tair'n and the others."

"Oh! I hope there's some good news M'lady," Vesta said. "I mean ..."

"I know Vesta," Jayleigh smiled her thanks. "I hope so too."

-------------------------

She was just walking up to the entrance to the hall when a loud angry cry
filled the air. the hair on the back of her head stood on edge as she
recognized the tone of the dragon's sad cries. Looking up and around she was
just in time to see an older dragon with green and yellow stripes lifting up
into the air seconds before it popped into nothingness.

<<TROY!!! WHO!!>> she cried.

< Tilal!!> the Queen replied through her sorrow. < The healer F'garin's
dragon. The healer is no more. Something is wrong with Sienra!! She can not
reach her rider and is very worried and upset!!>

Jayleigh turned and increased her steps towards the medical hall. Sienra's
rider Dyanisa was inside. What could have happened to the girl that would
have her dragon so upset? Was it possible that it had something to do with
the death of the healer?

Chula the day staffer was just coming out from behind her desk when Jayleigh
came running inside.

"Oh M'lady I'm glad you're here," the woman sighed in relief as she motioned
Jayleigh to follow her down the hall. "We've had a fire in one of the rooms.
The one where rider Dyanisa was placed last night. When the orderlies found
it and attempted to put it out they found the body of
one of our orderlies."

" F'garin..." Jayleigh supplied the man's name.

"Yes....I guess you knew that already," she said, her voice sad as she
thought about what happened to the dragon when their rider died.

"We were able to get Dyanisa out of the room before the fire spread... but
we were unable to get to F'garin before the fire was out.... the rooms
destroyed,....'

They can to the room just as two big orderlies were loading the fallen
healers body onto a cart. Jayleigh looked around the room and could see
where the fire had started near or on the bed itself. The darkest burn marks
seemed to be centered there. She sighed a sigh of relief. If Dy had still
been on the bed.....

"Where is Dyanisa?" she asked turning back to look at Chula. "Was she able
to tell you what happened?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Okay Bridget.... what will Chula tell Jayleigh.... or anything else you
think she might like or need to know....

Tom: Jayleigh will need to speak to both Alex and his cousin Dagion, about
the impending arrival of their Uncle....if you'd like to have Alex's father
arrive with him.... he he.....you have my blessings....it could be fun.

Morgie: you can fill in the breakfast with Jayleigh as much as you want to.

Mike: Jayleigh will we around so you can tell her about the drug you're
working on...

And Lea... Will R'ven be willing to acted as go between for Tair'n?....

Oh and Allen :) Gerald was *wonderful*...as he usually is :) he he!

And All: I hope I didn't leave anyone out.....sigh......
