[DL-D] Trouble in Town

NRPG:

This brings Ar'Aman up to the current time.

RPG:

He heard the scramble as Beta Wing were called to Trylar. Ja'ks was in the
air with Ari close behind him. The wing reached a safe point and they
teleported, regaining formation 2 miles North of the city. What greeted them
in the distance was a terrible sight. There were dragons flaming down
towards the streets and even though human life was in peril and the dragons
were here to help, he could feel Darar's conflict at the thought of going up
against another dragon.

<Hang in there buddy, we've got to help.>

*I know, my rider, but I don't have to like it*

And so they reached the township. Ari saw that not all of the dragons went
without a rider. He could feel the anger rise within him at the thought of
an orchestrated attack.

<Dar, can you hear the large crimson?>

Tactically, the rider of the crimson dragon seemed to be in command
position.

*Yes, he telling the others to execute a prepared plan. I don't know what
they're going to do.*

<Well, let's get him!>

They swooped towards the large crimson dragon and were spotted quickly.
Darar's speed would easily outstrip the large dragon, but he was severely
outmatched physically.

<Get over the top. Let's see if we can't oust the rider.>

*If he dies, his dragon would die.*

<Then we better not kill him, had we.>

And so the pair wheeled towards the crimson. The dragon's maneuverability
was good for his size but Dar's was better. Soon, they were atop the beast
who was doing his best to flame the interlopers. After several attempts,
Darar managed to hook a claw into the clothing of the rider. Slowing down
suddenly, Ari and Dar were able to lift the man out of the saddle. The large
crimson was unable to risk flaming them now and simply stood off, not
wanting to harm his rider.

<Good work Dar! Don't drop him.>

"Call them off or we'll drop you!" Ari roared at their captive.

"Fuck you, Daere bastard!"

<Scare him!>

Darar almost *dropped* the rider, but still he would not be asuaded. Ari
guessed the leader of this must be very frightening to inspire this kind of
loyalty.

<Let's find a spot, not too soft, to drop this baggage.>

*I see a place, hold on.*

And so they flew to a suitable height; injury, not death. They dropped the
man and were close enough to hear the crunch of his leg and his scream.

Having rendered him useless in the coming battle, Ari turned to see the rest
of the fight. Whether his actions had been of help he didn't know, but the
rest of the band of raiders seemed to be fleeing. So, after waiting to
ensure the way was clear, the Daere riders returned home. They didn't find
the home they'd left - they found chaos.
