Day 2
T'rell's Office
(Back post to answer John's retag)
<SNIP FROM JOHN'S POST>
"I can't believe you're saying we should have let them die out there
without trying to help," she said. "By the time the wing got organized,
they'd have been dead!"
"They probably would have been," T'rell agreed. "But tell me...now
that you've thought about it, and considered what might have happened to
you and Chamelle if all those wraiths you *did* see out there had attacked
at once instead of waiting....would you do it again?"
As she looked back at him, he was sure that he caught just a hint of
defiance in her eyes. "I...think I would," she said.
He immediately leaned forward across the desk, bringing his face close
to hers. "Then how would you like to have that sort of thing as an ongoing
job? But to do it in an *organized* fashion that would at least allow you
and Chamelle *some* likelihood of coming through each mission alive?
Something that would ensure that your life is never boring..."
<END SNIP>
She caught the challenge of his words and they struck a responding note deep
within her. Her life, boring. She envisioned her future and that sentiment
brought a sharp feeling of disgust. No, her life was meant to be anything
*but* boring!
"And just what did you have in mind, Mr. Wingleader?" Sharees shot back.
"What I've got in mind is a special group of riders from Gamma Wing," T'rell
spoke slowly, measuring her response as he sipped his ever-present cup of
coffee.
"Oh? And what are these riders going to be, a new Elite Squad?"
T'rell's eyebrows shot up in surprise and he sputtered, spraying coffee out
over his desk, "What do you know about .....?"
Sharees laughed, "Oh, don't look so surprised! Everyone's been talking
about how you would be reorganizing the Squad after Des'ry quit!"
T'rell grinned, "Oh, have they, now? I should have realized, dragons being
what they are for gossip -- and their riders as well!"
"As for your question, my answer is, 'yes'."
"Yes? Well... then I'll see you for training tomorrow morning!" T'rell
laughed.

NRPG: This is just to fill in the gap that was left after John's retag.
