Day 4 ( I *think* this is the day of BCS training, although I can't be sure
)
<midmorning, after training>
"So, what did you think?"
"Well," Jason replied as he and Sharees stretched out on the green,
unkinking a few muscles that had gotten a workout under T'rell and Flerrion.
"I'm still not convinced that this isn't some kind of punishment for our
little indiscretion the other day."
"Pessimist," Sharees replied with a grin. Jason chuckled.
"Yeah, yeah, perhaps I am. However, I won't say that this 'elite' wing idea
is a bad one. The training was interesting and T'rell's not a bad boss."
"Unless you get on his bad side," Sharees murmured, fairly sure that some of
the exercises T'rell had put them through *had* been a subtle kind of
reproach for their previous misadventure.
"You better believe it," Jason replied with a grunt. "I know all about
getting on his bad side." He flexed the fingers on his right hand
unconsciously, as if stretching the newly healed skin into place.
"How's the arm?" Sharees inquired curiously. "I mean, it looked pretty bad
the other day."
"Oh," Jason shrugged, "it seems fine." He grinned. "The arm is still there,
so I'm not going to question the doctors about it."
"I'd expect not," Sharees replied with a smile. "Say, I'm starved. Want to
do lunch?"
"Sure, although I need to drop by Mari's apartment first. She still has some
of my stuff there."
"How's things between you two? I don't mean to pry, but..."
"I haven't spoken to her in a few days," Jason replied with a shrug, "so I
don't know."
"She didn't tell you..."
"Tell me what?"
"Nothing," Sharees replied with a sigh.
[..]
"Knock, knock."
"Come in."
Jason and Sharees walked into Marialla's apartment just as
D'Altar poked his head out of the kitchen and Marialla walked into the room
wearing a bathrobe. The scene was interesting, to say the least.
"Did we come at a bad time?" Jason inquired. Marialla
blushed heavily as he heard Sharees snicker lightly behind him.
"Jason..."
"I was going to ask if I could pick up a few of my things,"
Jason said casually, a grin tugging at his lips as he glanced at the both of
them, "but I can see you're...occupied at the moment, so I'll come back
later."
Jason cocked his head and looked Marialla over for a moment.
"You look better than the last time I saw you Mari, the colour's back in
your face. Whatever you're doing," Jason glanced over at D'Altar slyly, who
had Sharees whispering in his ear, "keep it up."
He turned and made for the door. "Sharees, you coming?" She
nodded and pulled away from D'Altar to follow Jason. Pausing at the door,
she looked back at the two inside and grinned.
"Now don't you two get up to anything inappropriate...unless
you invite us along of course." She and Jason burst out into a fit of
giggles as she closed the door to the apartment, leaving its two occupants
in a state of bewilderment.
[..]
"That was cruel," accused Jason as he and Sharees walked
away from Mari's apartment.
"Yes, it was," Sharees replied with a grin, "funny though."
"That is was," Jason agreed with a chuckle. He looked at her
curiously. "What were you saying to D'Altar anyway?" Sharees gave him a
knowing look.
"That's for me to know and for you to make an educated
guess," she replied with a smirk.
"Touchˇ," Jason observed. "I don't think a guess is needed
at all."
"For someone who hasn't spoken to her in a while," Sharees
said casually, "you seemed to enjoy teasing Marialla."
"It's something the whole family can enjoy," Jason quipped
back. Then he sighed. "Oh heck, I know I'm just putting off the inevitable.
I need to sit down and talk to her, but I'm not sure if she wants to do the
same."
"I think you'd be surprised," Sharees replied quietly. "You
and her are more alike that you know." Jason raised an eyebrow in question,
but as no answer came forth he left it alone.

NRPG: Short, but I felt like writing it. Barb, if you do post that idea,
I'll backpost a reply to it, kay?
