DAY 1
Dining Hall
Morning
Sharees joined the table where her friends were sitting. Well, most of them
were her friends, including Allora and Jason ... and Norin? What could that
woman possibly be doing at that table?
It didn't take long to figure out that Norin was there only to stir up
trouble. Sharees decided not to be baited, but Jason fell for it hook, line
and sinker.
<SNIP of Barb's post>
"Norin... why don't you go back and crawl into the hole you climbed out of,"
Jason finally said, unable or willing to keep it in any longer. "None of us
here care a damn for your opinion so why don't you take it and go find some
poor slob who cares what you think."
<END SNIP
Sharees watched in annoyance as Norin got up slowly with a grin plastered to
her face, laughing slightly as she walked away.
"Ooo! I'd like to wipe that grin right off her face!" Sharees snarled.
"What did I do up there? Wasn't my case sufficient to prove his innocence?"
"Yes, of course it was!" Allora chimed in. "You did a superb job with
presenting the evidence. She's just causing trouble."
Jason suddenly grinned, "Yeah, and she needs to see just what kind of
trouble she stirred up."
"You have something in mind?" Sharees asked, always willing to participate
in some practical joke or another.
"Maybe, just maybe."

LATE MORNING
Maneuvers with the wing had taken up most of her morning. It was different
flying with a wing than with the small group of trainees. Different, yet
reassuringly similar. Jason had flown to her right, just as they had
practiced so many times. T'rell's dragon Flerrion had transmitted the
orders just as he had in training. But there were so many MORE dragons
flying. Any false move and you could send half the wing out of control.
M'naten, who was flying to her left, gave Sharees the thumbs up sign. He
and was just a bit distracting
They had landed finally, and Sharees, exhausted, had wanted only to stand in
her shower and let the water soothe away the tension. But that was not to
be. Chamelle needed to be cared for first; a bath, rub down and oiling.
Groaning from fatigue they headed to the lake. Sharees stood in the water
to rub the grit off of her dragon. She had not expected to go for a swim,
but Chamelle obviously had other plans! The sapphire blue dragon snaked her
tail around behind her rider, and suddenly, Sharees found herself with her
legs above her head, staring at the sky through muddy water.
Sputtering, she clawed her way up to the surface. "Oh, and you thought that
was funny did you!" She yelled outloud as well as mind-shouted at her
dragon.
She heard laughter behind her and turned, embarrassed, to see a young man
standing on the banks, "Actually, it was rather funny!"
Sharees glared at the stranger, "And just who do you think you are to be
laughing at me?"
D'Altar smiled and offered her his hand. "Sorry," though the laughter
hadn't abated.
<*My rider! I'm so sorry! Are you all right?*> Chamelle swung her large
head around to look down at her rider and bumped the young man accidentally,
pushing him over into the water as well.
Raven, who had been pleasantly soaking, roared out in protest at his rider's
dumping.
This time it was Sharees's turn to laugh.

TAG: Peter. Do you have plans for lunch?
****
NOON.
Sharees brought D'Altar over to the table where Allora, M'naten and Jason
where having lunch. She introduced him to those who didn't know him as they
sat down to eat.
The conversation around the table died when they all got that far away look
in their eyes as their dragons bespoke them. Sharees listened for Chamelle,
but her dragon was fast asleep cuddled up next to Starfire, who suddenly
pulled away. Chamelle snorted in surprise, waking.
<My love, what is going on?> Sharees asked Chamelle as the other riders at
her table suddenly rose and looked around in a confused manner.
<*Oh, some female is rising to mate... somewhere.*> Chamelle grumped.
Sharees listened but didn't hear the tell-tale call from a challenging
female. <Where is she, then?>
<*Somewhere, not too far away. At the lake I think.*> Chamelle answered.
There was a distracted murmuring as the male riders tried to determine what
they needed to do.
