[ Day 14 morning after breakfast ]
[ Morning after the dinner party at Leigh and D'Altar ]
[[ Leigh's office ]]

"We were told that you wanted to see us Mistress," Jeannie #1 spoke up as they all lined up in front of Leigh's desk.

"Have you finally work for us to do?" asked Jeanie #2, as the others looked hopefully on.

"Not in so many words," Leigh said, her face a mask of indifference. An indifference she was far from feeling. Something about these four women drove her to places in her mind she didn't want to go.

"But after last night I can see that something has to be done with you. If not for my piece of mind," she added slowly as she stood and came around to the front of her desk where the women stood. "I could.. in my position as Warrenlady here in Daere have you all arrested for kidnapping a child from her rightful watcher... And it would be within my right to have you staked out as Wraith bait for any hungry Wraith who happens to be looking this way for food..."

"Oh but we didn't.." Jeanie #3 started to say but stopped when Leigh turned to her with flashing violet-blue eyes. Number 3 Shut up. But they all took turns casting nervous looks at each other.

The Warrenlady smiled then. Not a nice smile at all. Then went on. "First off you had no ones permission to make the trip to the care givers home. *Nor* did anyone give you permission to take the child Tonia had been entrusted to watch. Taking the child from her rightful minder was bad enough!" Leigh's voice became firmer, like a Wingleader about to give his Wing a much deserved dressing down, without needing to even raise her tone
one bit.

"But this was *MY* Child! And I sure as hell didn't give any one of you permission to have a damn thing to do with my daughter!" her voice rose now, but only for a moment until she got her temper under control. "If I ordered you staked out, *no one* would argue my decision for in my position as Warrenlady here in Daere *any* threat to me and mine would be seen as a threat to get me to do things against my will. With that in mind they would see me within my rights to have you kicked out of here on your pretty young
asses."

She could see the four women were looking very nervous now and smiled inwardly. Good. Let them be scared. Let them wonder what she planned on doing to them. Let them *finally* realize that she meant business!

"As I said.. " she reiterated slowly just so they would understand her meaning. "I could have you staked out for the Wraiths... And believe me I am VERY tempted to do just that.. But calmer heads have prevailed and intervened on your behalf. Though I don't know why since you've all made nuisances out of yourselves since you got here.. So.." she drew out softly as she paced before them making eye contact with each and every one of them.

"You are to be given a choice and I do hope you make the right one," her smile was back in place now, but it did little to reassure the four. "As of this morning.. You *Will* stay away from my family and have nothing more to do with any of us.."

She held up her hand when they would have started to protest about serving their master.. "Something else has come up that I think you 4 will be just right for, so you will not be left without a means to earn your keep here.. An old friend has returned to this Warren to live and work and he will be to busy doing what he does to see to the upkeep of himself, his father and his Hall... So.. Here's your choice.. in agreeing to stay away from my family.. and to go to work for him and keep his life free of worry... I will allow you to stay in this Warren and under it's protection... Disagree and you can start packing right now. Which will it be?"

The four women looked torn. It was the first one who finally spoke up.

"We can not make a decision until we talk to the master," she told Leigh.

"Yes.. after all he saved us and brought us here to serve," #2 said while #4 stood looking as if she was going to cry.

"I didn't bring you here to serve me," a voice said from the door way, and everyone turned to see D'Altar standing there. So intent on her mission, Leigh had failed to see him enter the office, but was glad that he did. "I brought you here to get you out of the danger you were in. Your lives are your own, but my mate is right.. You have to make a choice for I will not have you disrupting our lives any more then you already have. I would prefer you accept her offer to serve the Bard.. for I would hate to think my rescue attempt was in vain. Why don't you discuss it a moment on your own."

The four women looked at each other as if passing silent messages between them, and then a moment later each nodded her head and they turned back to face Leigh and D'Altar, who had moved to stand next to his mate.

"Then if that is your wish master.." Number one said softly bowing her head in submission. "We will choose to serve this Bard you spoke of."

"And promise not to bother my family ever again?" Leigh added, wanting to make that part of the deal was understood.

All four nodded.

"We promise," number four sighed, speaking up for the first time. "If we may ask.. What is our new master like?"

"Yes is he handsome?" number three piped up.

"He's very handsome and I'm sure will be grateful for any help you will be giving him," Leigh commented with a now warm slime that hinted of none of her earlier anger. "Very grateful," she repeated, thinking the Bard would think he'd died and gone to heaven with these four lovely looking lady's seeing to his *every* need.

"When do we get to meet him?" Number one asked and all the ladies nodded with a bit of excitement in there eyes now.

"I will call have my Queen bespeak his dragon and ask if now is a good time," Leigh offered and did just that. The sooner she got them out of her hair the happier she'd be.

.....

A few moments later there was a knock at the door, and K'nord entered when she'd called out. She could see by the looks the four were giving him that they had indeed found the man handsome at first glance.

"M'Lady, Shiver informed me that you required my presence?" K'nord said formally as he entered the room.

"Yes Bard K'nord I do," she said equally as formal. "It has come to my attention that you will be in need of help getting your hall together and keeping it in good running order now that you have agreed to take over the running of the Bard's Teaching Hall here in Daere.. I've taken it upon myself to find you these four women to do whatever you find that needs doing so that you might better concentrate on the duties your position requires you to perform."

"And these lovely young women," the bard said looking them over with a pleasing glance as he smiled warmly at each one in turn. "Have they agreed to help me out?"

"That is for you to convince them" Leigh smiled sweetly.

She turned to look up at her mate and saw the amused look in his eyes.

"Don't fret my love," she whispered to Dee after introducing the new arrival to his new.. helpers. "I still think you're far the better catch."

"Oh you do, do you?" he whispered back and she could see the laughter in his eyes.

"Oh you bet," she winked. "And I'll prove it to you tonight when we're alone."

She felt heat flash through her body when the look in his eyes turned lustful. "I'll keep you to that promise."

The exchange between then went unnoticed by the others, but Leigh had to work hard to get her breathing under control as she turned back to the others in the room.

"So Ladies?" she said slowly, eyes narrowing as she regarded them. "Do we have a deal?"

[[ tags to Peter and Bob... <me> wonders if K'nord knows what he's getting himself into if he agrees to take them on... and if the Warren will get to hear any music played for a while... ]]
