"We would thoroughly welcome your presence here in the warren. We could always use some strong young people to help work around I'm sure we could find something for you to do. Do you presently have any skills at working?"
"Ummmmm. I really haven't thought about that I was more worried about a place to stay and food to eat." Rayn said it more to herself than to Jayleigh, but she said it loud enough for the Warrenlady to hear. "I am so sorry I did not mean any disrespect, I just hadn't thought that far ahead, please forgive me." Rayn cast her eyes downward sadness immediately crossed her face.
"Don't worry my child, we will get started on the major things. First things first your going to need to shower and change clothes." Jayleigh looked at the giant gash that almost eliminated the young girls shirt. "Its just a matter of finding you a place to stay."
She turned back to the other woman in the room. "Kati can I call upon you to showing our new guest here around the Warren shops so she can find something to wear, and then take her over to Quartermaster, Nicate and see about finding her someplace to live?"
"I can do that M'lady," the young rider smiled excitedly. "And you know.. Sharees over at the leather shop might be in need of a helper.. I could take her by there and we can speak to her about a job for Rayn."
"Now that sounds like a good idea," Leigh agreed. "If not you might take her by the dining hall and speak to Realee. If I know my mother she will have something."
She turned back to Rayn on the bed. "My mother is always looking after any strays that show up here. If you don't mind working in the kitchens I'm sure she'll have something you can do until you find something your more adapt at."
"Thank you M'lady," the girl on the bed said and Leigh could see the look of relief in her eyes. "I'm sure I can be a help here in the Warren somehow."
"I'm sure you will be," Leigh agreed. "Now I'll send Koda back in here to check you over one more time to make sure she thinks you're well enough to be discharged and then Kati can show you around. I do hope you'll enjoy living here and if you have any questions others can't answer or any problems.. Please feel free to come see me."

"And how did our girl seem to you?" Koda, Daere's head healer asked the Warrenlady a minute later when Leigh found her still in her office. As required by her health, the tiny healer was eating what Leigh thought a big meal.
"You're mother.." Koda laughed when she saw the look Leigh had been giving her meal. "She takes her job seriously in making sure I eat. I have this fear that if I send the plate back empty she'll start bring the food over herself and sit here while I eat just to make sure I do."
"She would too," Leigh chuckled as she relaxed in the chair Koda pointed her to. "After getting that letter from that mate of yours about the importance of making sure his favorite healers keeps up her strength by not being over worked and eating right.. She always did have a soft spot where he was concerned and it thrills her that he finally found someone to love.. so don't be surprised if my mother does *mother* you a bit... So have you heard anything about when he'll be coming home?"
Koda reached though a pile of papers on her desk with her free hand and picked up a envelope. "He says soon. The trouble they were having in Xylian is just about over. All that's left is the clean up.. But today isn't soon enough for me. Talera and I miss him dearly.. She's growing so big and he's missing all her *firsts*."
"Well I'm sure he'll be home soon and then you can fill him in on what he's been missing, but in the mean time, you have a patient chomping at the bits to be released."
"Well I'll just have to go see her about that now won't I?" Koda set down her fork and pushed the tray away from her. "I can't eat another bite, so I might as well get back to work... you know though.. I could get spoiled being waited on this way. You're mother is a wonderful cook."
"Careful what you wish for my dear healer," Leigh laughed as she got up and started towards the door. "I'll see you later."

"Well I don't see any reason to keep you here young lady," Koda told Rayn a little while later after giving her a final exam. "I'm sure you'd rather be out doing anything else but staying in here and looking at these walls.. so off you go. Kati is outside waiting to show you around the Warren.. but don't forget to get something to eat."
"Thank you healer Koda," the girl said softly as she slid off the edge of the bed. I don't know how I'll repay you but I will as soon as I can."
"Don't worry about it my dear," Koda assured her as she led her out to a waiting Kati. "It's a perk of living in the Warren.. Kati will explain it all to you won't you Kati?"
"Yes ma'am Healer Koda.. I sure will." The young rider said quickly and then
the two girls were off.
