Day 13
Late Evening
On the Ledge Outside Lexi's Apartment
Chamelle's head snapped up as the noise below her erupted. The screeching could only be that little brat of a queen, Almantha. Flerrion, of course, was involved, Chamelle could see.
She glanced over at Samson, who only groaned and shook his massive head. His rider stood to the side, also, seemingly annoyed by the display below.
It was then that something caught her attention. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted an animal bounding away. But it was obviously injured. A snack! Hmm, not a bad idea for this time of night, she thought. Wondering who had been so careless as to let the animal run away. Her stomach growled and she glanced at Samson, <Want a snack?>
The big red dragon chuckled, <Why, don't mind if I do!> He stretched his wings and launched off of the ledge.
Chamelle snorted, <Hey, it was my idea... you'd better share!> She jumped off the ledge after him.

Almantha stared at the retreating animal. Looking from her would-be-meal to the large crimson dragon, "Well you big powderpuff are you gonna go get it or do I have to do all the work around here!"
Flerrion looked helplessly down at the small queen.
"Oh never mind!" the hatchling queen snapped, "I'll do it myself!" Almantha started off after the wounded buck.
The little queen saw her rider coming but that didn't matter; the smell of fresh meat filled her nostrils and she aimed to get it one way or another.
Just then she heard a loud roar, and Almantha's head was filled with Samson's voice, "Out of the way squirt! That buck is mine!"
"That's what YOU think!!" Chamelle's voice chimed in.
>From overhead out of the darkness came a blur of red and blue as Samson and Chamelle in unison headed straight for the buck.
The two humans stopped in their tracks. To their horror, out of the darkness they saw sharp antlers of a buck emerge, aiming right at them, with Almantha bringing up the rear, trying hard to keep up. Just then the little queen skidded to a stop and looked up Pandora and T'rell both followed her gaze and out of the darkness came a huge shadow, like a giant serpent bearing down on them.
Samson roared again, <That's MY snack! you little twerp so get out of the way!> Then at the wingleader, <Back off buddy! I'm coming through!>
Pandora stared upward frozen in place. Her eyes grew huge as the shadowy serpent quickly appeared to become a two-headed dragon. Her breath came in short ragged gasps as she felt her heart jump into her throat as the strange monster bore down on them. The roars echoed through her head and her knees began to buckle as she reached shakily for the man standing in front of her.
T'rell turned to grab Pandora to pull her out of the way only to find that she had fainted.
Feeling her rider's terror Almantha's head swung around to stare at Pandora. <Rider?> she questioned in a high pitched squeak. But Pandora's predicament wasn't enough to keep her attention as she looked back at the approaching dragons and realized what was about to happen. <THAT"S MINE YOU BIG JERK! KEEP YOUR TEETH OFF!> Almantha yelled ducking as the two larger dragons glided by effortlessly.
Samson scooped up the buck as Almantha yelled at the big red dragon, <GIVE IT BACK! FLERRION GAVE IT TO ME!>
The red and blue dragons spread their massive wings and lifted upward. The downdraft kicking up the dust, causing T'rell to shield his eyes and covering the humans and little dragon with sand.

TAG: John!

Samson grunted and dropped the carcass on the ledge before he landed, <Help yourself!>
Chamelle grinned, <Don't mind if I do!> and she took a healthy bite.

Inside the Apartment
The noise only seemed to be getting worse, and even the pillow Sharees had thrown over her head couldn't drown it out. Finally she gave up and threw back the sheet.
Stumbling through the gloom, Sharees finally emerged into the night. The dragons seemed to be happily munching on something. Then she caught sight of Lexi, leaning against the wall, staring down at the commotion below.
"What's going on?" She asked when she drew up beside him.
Lexi looked at the sleepy woman next to him. Wrapping his arm around her he snickered, "The Squirt is at it again!"
She peered down into the darkness, "Who's down there? Think we ought to go help them?"
At first Lexi smiled, then frowned seeing T'rell looking after his sister. "Nah," he said quietly, "The boss can handle it!" Lexi turned to watch the two dragons enjoying their late night snack, and a little grin came to his face. Pulling the dark-haired beauty close he nuzzled Sharees's neck. "You know a late night snack doesn't sound like such a bad idea!"
Sharees arched her eyebrow, "Oh, anything particular you have in mind to snack on?"
Lexi grinned boyishly, his eyes sparkling through his black curls and said, "Well there's me, or me or me!"
Sharees returned his grin, "Don't mind if I do."
