[Med center Day 14, Early Evening]
Turi pulled the hides up one more time, not wanting to have to get up. The back of her mind yelling, screaming about something she knew she had to do, but the feeling of sleep pulling her back to bed.
The feel of the strange hides over her brought her back to reality. She slowly opened her eyes, and tried to figure out where she was. She instantly sensed it wasn't her cave. As the strange hides seemed much larger, and made from one piece rather than her mixedmached pieced hide and fur that she usually slept on.
It was dark in the cave, but she had learned to be adaptive with only the slightest of light sources. She knew it wasn't her cave in the small hill, as both the roof and floor were much smoother than her cave had been. The wall also had a strange sharpness to them, almost as if they had been cut.
She knew this must just be a strange formation, but she still didn't know how she got here. Pulling down the coverings she gasped at the chill air. Someone, or something, had removed her wraps. She had moved about nude before, but in these temperatures it might be a hassle.
Next to where she lay was what seemed to be a large block of wood. And on it lay some of the tools she had in her cave. The shark bone knife she used to cut and tear at the strange hides that she had been sleeping in. After arranging something more suitable to wear, she created a small sack in which to carry her remaining things, and began to explore.
Turi could feel the presence of Lynx in the back of her mind. The dragon was sleeping, calmly and almost with a sense of happiness that Turi had never felt from her dragon before. Once again she wondered where she had gotten.
She moved from the strange elevated sleeping platform and started for the one exit from the room where the light was comming from. She looked out the doorway cautiously, and saw a pair of humans walking and talking as they moved down the hall. She quickly pulled back and hid herself in the darkness.
After the couple moved on, she relaxed, and once again looked out into the hallway. Where was she? Then she remembered the illness, and the dreams, wakening in sweat soaked bedding, screaming at Lynx for help.
Perhaps the dragon had found some? But who. A dread filled her, what if it was the warren. Turi had thought Lynx would know better, but it made sense, only the warren and its men could make the things she saw in her room. But the dragon seemed calm, and one of the humans she had just seen was female, and walking side by side with a man. She tried to think of what to do next.
Turi knew that she needed to get back to the forest, back to the wilderness haven that she had called home for so long. But another force was working at her belly, and she realized that she was extremely hungry.
Following her nose, and trying to focus on the smell of something good, as these caves seemed to be filled with noxious fumes, and smelled of death and decay, She made her way to a smaller lit cave, with strange boxes and more of the wooden platforms.
Feeling at one of the boxes she managed to get it open. Inside were several collections of strange clear items. Turi tried tasting one, but the thing was hard, and tasted horrible.
She was about to leave the small room, when it was flooded with light. Causeing Turi to drop the box she had been looking at, the strange object smashed like ice at impact. Turi jumped into a crouch, and turned to find a woman standing and gaping at her.
*****
Tag Tree. Turi is not quite as wild and upset as she was, but she will alert lynx, and make a run for it if she feels threatened.
Sincerly,
