Late Afternoon-Early Evening
************
Kati half smiled at his words, touching the young woman's shoulder enough to hopefully rouse her she received no response. Again she gently pushed the woman's shoulder and said "Hello!"
Still nothing.
Lexi shook his head, "She's probably exhausted from her little ride or unconscious from loss of blood!" "Either way.." He said letting the sentence drop. Not waiting any longer he said, "Grab her stuff!"
Very carefully Lexi gently lifted the woman, cradling her in his arms then started off for the Med-Center with Kati once again running to keep up.
Rayn slid back and forth between the realm of dreams and reality. She felt a gently touch upon her shoulder and heard the sing song voice that beckoned her to speak, but try as she might she couldn't form the words upon her lips. Dreams once again over took her mind. Rayn tried desperately to resist the arms that enfolded her and lifted her from her resting
place. She wanted to prove to whoever was helping her that she was alright and didn't need help at all. When Rayn realized that she couldn't push herself away from the arms that held her so close she gave in to the fact that she couldn't do anything for herself. Maybe she had been hurt a little bit more than she had anticipated.
Lexi walked as quickly as he dared toward the Med-Center. The young girl in his arms had not stirred, not even when he lifted her into his arms to carry her. They pair arrived at the Med-Center door just as Allora and two other nurses fought with a strange woman who fought tooth and nail to get away from them. Lexi ducked around the chaos and proceeded to the back room where there were extra empty beds that he could lay his charge down. He looked at the young girl, her shirt ripped from the claw of the Tan
dragon. He hoped that she would be alright.
As Lexi turned to walk back into the room to see if he could assist with the turmoil there, Rayn tried with all her might to thank him for his help. Try as she might all Rayn could manage was a small squeak that made Lexi stop and smile. He walked back to the bed,
"You will be fine, just rest. A healer will be here soon to take care of your wound properly." Lexi turned and walked away, back to the task at hand.
Rayn laid there on the bed. Listening to the commotion in the next room, it sounded as though they were having a very hard time doing whatever they were doing Taking in the softness of the sheets and the exhaustion of her body, Rayn could feel the black tar that weighed her body down grabbing her limbs, dragging her back into the depths. She gladdly receded back, knowing that finally she had found a little bit of help. But Rayn also let fear over take her as now she would have no way of telling or asking what was going on. She hoped that these people would be as nice and helpful as the man that brought her from what seemed to be the last place she would see into a new hope for the future. Rayn gave in to the temptation of sleep and let the whole world slip away. She was ready for what ever the world would throw at her tomorrow, she hoped.
