**Day 2 (according to Barb's wonderful timeline :)**

"Of course, Phaedra. I'll see you later." Inagua said, relieved she hadn't
screwed thing up. She turned to her temporary charge, Violet, motioned her to
follow, and started off towards the empty rooms.

Inagua gasped as pain shot through her head when Violet loudly cried out,
äAmethysts!ä

Gritting her teeth and trying not to explode at the girl, Inagua turned around
only to see Violet on her hands and knees shoving loose stones into her bag.
She shook her head in disgust. What was wrong with the girl?

"Come on! Don't play with those! You can gather trash another time." Inagua
had turned and was glaring at her. "You need to get some rest."

"Do you have an open room? Or at least one with a window?"

"Yes. I guess you could use it for a while."

So she started climbing stairs. Higher and higher until it seemed that it was
and endless climb until . . .

"Here we are. It's a bit drafty, but there are extra blankets on the
bed. See you. I have some things to do," Inagua said.

ãYeah, like get some sleep so I can think tomorrow,ä she mumbled under her
breath as she walked down the stairs.

She entered her apartment and got into bed, hoping against hope she could fall
asleep right away. It didnât happen. Her head felt like it was going to
explode and it was impossible to even think of sleep.

Totally frustrated, Inagua grabbed her hat and quietly stormed out the door,
trying not to jar her head tom much.

She made her way carefully to the dining hall, avoiding noise whenever possible.
Thankfully, there werenât many people there and the noise level was almost
bearable.

Inagua collapsed at a table and Buary came up to her. ãIs there anything I can
get you, child?ä she said kindly.

ãYes,ä Inagua croaked. ãHow about a large class of strong ale?ä

Buary looked at her for a moment, aghast. ãWouldnât you rather have some juice
or milk instead?ä

Inagua glared at her from under her hat. ãIf I wanted juice I would have told
you,ä she said flatly. ãIf I said I wanted ale, thatâs what I want, so get me
some.ä

Baury just glared right back, a vaguely offended look on her face. ãDonât you
take the tone with me young lady,ä she scolded. ãYour too young and you arenât
getting any of that awful tuff from me!ä She lowered her tone a bit, ãNow is
there any thing else that you would like?ä

ãNo,ä Inagua said bitterly and stalked out, until she was out of sight, by then
her head was really throbbing. She knew of one more place where she could get
something to drink, her siblings.

She reached the apartment the twins shared and knocked on the door. Yechur
yanked open the door and a rolled up sock came flying out the door, barely
missing Inaguaâs head. She glared at Yechur.

He grinned shamelessly and opened the door wider. ãHiya, Iggy. Liaâs yelling
at me for being a walking tornado again.ä

ãPlease,ä Inagua begged, putting her hands to her head. ãNot so loud.ä

Yechur frowned, immediately concerned. ãYou all right, Inagua?ä he led her to a
chair and pushed her into it.

ãFine,ä she mumbled, smiling slightly at the irony of it all. ãI have the worst
hangover in history and the dining hall wonât give me any thing to drink. I was
wondering if you two had gotten a hold of anything...ä She trailed off as
Yechur started laughing softly.

ãInagua and a hangover,ä he said, teasing her. ãNever thought Iâd see the day.ä

ãChury, do you have something to drink or not?ä

ãJust a minute, Liaâs got to see this.ä He walked into the other room. A few
moments later, Yelia came out with a bottle of wine. Yechur was right on her
heels with three glasses.

ãChury here tells me that you, Inagua, the one who can out drink both of us with
out half trying, has a major hangover. Is that true?ä Yelia asked, playing this
up for all it was worth.

ãYes! I have a hangover. Now give me something to drink so I can get rid of it
and sleep it off.ä Inagua stood up, grabbed a glass from her little brother,
the bottle from her sister, and put as much wine in the glass as it would hold.
Quickly she gulped half of it before collapsing in the chair again.

The twins poured themselves a glass of wine each and sat down across from her.
For a moment they simply stared at each other in familiar silence, until Inagua
spoke softly.

ãWhat do you think?ä

It was an old question and they didnât need any further clarification. She
waited patiently, letting them think it over.

Yelia was the first to speak. ãI like it here. The people are nice and food,
clothes, and these rooms are free. Working the kitchen is a breeze compared to
some of the things we had to do and here we can go to school.ä She shrugged, ãI
think we should stay.ä

ãChury?ä Inagua asked.

ãI think Liaâs right, its nice here we should stay,ä he paused. ãWhat about
you, Iggy?ä

Inagua smiled softly, ãYou know that whether I want to stay or not wonât make us
stay. But since you asked, I like it here as well. For some reason, most of
the people here donât think Iâm a witch or demon spawn or other nonsense. And
then there is Myacura...ä she looked up almost angry. ãYour not saying you like
it here because I joined are you?ä

ãNo,ä they both said vehemently.

ãWe like it here and you like it here,ä Yelia said softy. ãAre we going to
stay.ä

Inagua smiled softly, ãI suppose so. The only complaint I have is I canât get
anything to drink around here without being harassed.ä

The three of them laughed.

Chury raised his glass, ãNot to worry, sister dear. We can buy you your liquor
along with ours.ä

Inagua frowned as she reached over and refilled her glass. ãSo long as you
donât steal it, you two.ä

The twins looked at each other, genuinely surprised that their older sister
would even suggest such a thing. Inagua had never allowed them to steal, saying
one thief in the family was more than enough.

ãOf course not, Iggy,ä Yechur said earnestly. ãWe get the money from odd jobs
we do in town. They pay rather generously for good entertainment at night and
the tips are even better. We have plenty of money to buy our wine.ä

ãI believe you,ä Inagua said softly. She put the cup on the floor and stood up.
ãIâm going to bed. Thanks for the wine-ä Yechur stood up suddenly and held out
a bottle of wine he had pulled from behind his back. ã-bottle and the talk."
She took the bottle with a smile. "Lunch tomorrow?ä

ãSure, Gânight,ä they said simultaneously.

ãNight,ä Inagua said and left. She reached her apartment and saw a green orb
glow slightly in the darkness, Myacura.

*<Yes, Mya? Did I wake you?>* Inagua asked getting into bed.

<No, you didnât wake me,> Myacura paused, her mental tone uncertain. <Why do you
drink? Are you unhappy? Some of the other dragons say their riders drink when
they are unhappy. Is it because of me?> she asked all in a rush.

Inaguaâs heart nearly broke at Myaâs tone. *<No..no, Iâm not unhappy. Iâve
never been happier in my life. And I certainly donât drink because of you. I
drink because it relaxes me and I enjoy it. It makes me happier, Mya.>*

<I donât like it when you do.. but if it makes you happier than I suppose I can
live with it,> the young queen said grudgingly.

<Thank you, dear. That means a lot to me,>* Inagua said, climbing into bed.

<I love you,> Myacura whispered.

*<I love you, too, Mya,>* Inagua managed before she fell into a deep dreamless
sleep.

NRPG: Just something to finish up the day with, nothing much but that's ok.
I'll move onto Day 3 next post.

FYI, Inagua, Yechur, and Yelia are no strangers to drinking. If they aren't
alcoholics then they are the nearly so. They found that the wine was usually
safer to drink than some of the other beverages offered in inns around the
Dragonlands, so they took up drinking cheap wine and ale. They don't have much
experience with strong liquor (which is one reason why Inagua got drunk off it
so quickly :)
