[DL-G] A botched kidnapping

NRPG: I jumped the gun a little bit, the talk V'dar gives to everyone in
the hatching caverns comes *after* the hatching party. My bad. Please
adjust the time to suit you.
***Cygnus***
Kirin turned around and frowned at her dragon. Turning around
again, she put an innocent smile on her face. "Actually, Cygnus, I
wasn't even leaving until tomorrow, but it never hurts to be
prepared." She used her sweetest, most innocent voice for this, but
nothing could have hidden the touch of sarcasm at the edge.
Whys is she being sarcastic? Cygnus thought. And she's acting like
I've done her a great disservice. What have I done wrong? Well, perhaps
she'll open up at the party.
"Well then, since you aren't leaving until tomorrow, we might as
well make the best of the situation." he offered her his arm, which
she took.
Cygnus was chatting away companiably, jabbering about the
hatching, a new queen, wasn't Yothick one of the most beautiful
dragons she'd ever seen? She just nodded.
This wasn't working, either; something was on the young queenrider's mind.
"How about we see how the party is progressing?" he asked. Kirin nodded.
"Excellent!" he added. He guided her towards the dining hall...
***Phaedra***
Phaedra relaxed in the high-backed chair, H'nin sitting beside her. She
felt much better; blissfully, Melith had calmed down considerably once
the hatching had finished. We should take a trip sometime soon, she thought.
<<That would be wonderful. I've been cooped up here far too long.>>
<*I would love it too. I'll have to see if C'rin will escort us, H'nin
will be busy the next few days.*>
<<Just as long as we don't have to go to the Chalet.>>
Phaedra sighed in frustration. <*All right, I understand you don't want to
be near the smiths. But I was looking forward to some skiing.*>
H'nin sat up suddenly beside her, involuntarily glancing at his fingernails.
Phaedra looked over, then looked again. It was Ghost, but completely
different! She was dressed and made up, and looked every bit of the 17 years
she now claimed.
"Who is that?"
Phaedra grinned, a rare thing. "That's Ghost."
"*Our* Ghost? When did she grow..." Phaedra glared at the Alpha wingleader.
"Ah, sorry. She looks much different. Much."
"Try not to drool on yourself, H'nin dear. Why don't you ask her to dance?"
"It's too late. See? C'rin got her. Ah, well." His eyes wandered. "Wait,
there's Inagua. Perhaps our new queen rider would like a dance..."
Phaedra watched as he excused himself to run over to the new queenrider.
(tag, Bridget)
***Cygnus***
"See? It's not so bad, really." Cygnus grinned as he escorted Kirin into the
hall. "Everyone's here, and why not enjoy yourself before your trip?
Have a glass of wine, and of course," he added, bowing to her, "dancing is
much more fun with music. I don't do too badly-may I have this dance?"
(tag Brosh)
later part of the evening to be continued shortly...
=====================
nrpg: Lavinia, I was going to continue with people noticing Sazarnth and
Bazie the next day, but I noticed you had Saz gone for two weeks...that's
certainly possible, but it will put both of you out for a long time, as
far as posting goes. Were you wanting to be introduced the day after the
hatching, in the timeline?
