[DL-G] A New Arrival
by

The twin peaks were what U'rik noticed first. As they approached
he slowed his dragon to an easy glide to let the magnificent view
     engulf him.

U'rik spoke to his life-mate <Look at that Cedric, have you ever
     seen anything like it?>

<<It is beautiful, my rider, but at this rate, we will never get
there>> Grumbled the small red dragon.

<I'll have none of that, first time experiences only happen once,
they must be savored so as to remember them always.>

<<It's easy to enjoy the view when all you have to do is keep
from falling out of the saddle, just who is doing the work
     here?>>

U'rik allowed himself a chuckle. <That's why I slowed you down,
to keep your feeble young wings from getting stressed.>

<<Look whose calling who feeble, it is time for another lesson in
manners. I recommend you hang on.>>

Immediately, Cedric whipped his wings back and tore into a nose
dive, the ground rushed instantly up to meet them. It was all
U'rik could do to hang on, his boots digging into the stirrups.
The sickening feel of weightlessness started in his stomach and
worked its way quickly up to his throat. U'rik wanted to close
his eyes, but the pressure was too intense, tears formed quickly
from the corners and were just as quickly swept away. Just as it
looked like they would drill a hole in the earth. Cedric swept
his wings out and used all the stored up momentum to carry him
straight up this time. At which point he threw himself into a
corkscrew that left U'rik's head spinning.

U'rik had finally reached his endurance, <E...nough, ...Cedric,
     Please>

Cedric allowed gravity to slow his ascent and then glided down
into a level position. <<Who's the feeble one now, rider?>>

<I bow to your superior endurance> U'rik laughed. For some
strange reason, he enjoyed these wild flights. He would
purposely goad Cedric just so he could enjoy the thrill of what
his dragon could do. The twin peaks of Mt. Carno loomed ever
closer. U'rik could now make out the caves of the Warren below
     them.

<Down there, Cedric, hopefully this will be our new home.> U'rik
coaxed his dragon down onto the ledge. He swiftly dismounted.

It seemed as though a thousand eyes were staring at him. "I
imagine no one as ever seen a white-skinned, blue-eyed man
before." He thought to himself. He walked to the closest person
there, "Excuse me, might I inquire as to the whereabouts of
     Warrenlady Phaedra?"

After receiving directions, he found his way to Phaedra's
apartments. He knocked on the door. "Come in, the female voice
     sounded."

U'rik walked in, "Hello, allow me to introduce myself. I'm U'rik,
from Jasra. I've only been joined a year now but I requested to
move here, The colder climate is more to my liking. If there
would be a place for me, I would sincerely appreciate it. Before
joining, I was a fairly accomplished healer, I've had experience
     with dragon healing as well."

     TAG: Allen, here I am.

NRPG: Hello everybody, its great to be in a warren. I've been
role-playing for about a year now, but this is my first
appearance in DragonLands. Any tips, comments, or criticisms
about my writing are always welcome and encouraged. U'rik wants
to get settled in and start meeting people so feel free to say
     hello.
