**Faedos Hithra**

<Someone's here, Fae,> Barnath said as they started in for a landing
followed by their two companions. <Two dragons.>

<*Where?*>

<I don't know... they disappeared almost as soon as we ported in, I
barely caught it.>

<*Damn.*> If Barnath had barely sensed it, there was no chance in hell
Denik's beast, Cinkyre, and T'renij's Manfred would have picked up on
it, they had 'ported in after he had. T'renij might be good in a fight
and intelligent enough, but neither of them possessed a wit of caution,
which made them dangerous in more ways then one. Denik was just to
damned stubborn and in his mind 'abused' by his lack of position to
agree.

He quickly dismounted his slate blue dragon and waited for Denik and
T'renij to land on the drive. They slid off their dragons and
approached him, exchanging a look, which told Faedos that they knew he
was worried about something.

"What's up, Fae?" T'renij asked softly, yanking his green flight jacket
back into place.

"Barnath sensed two dragons. I think we should call it off. Our
contact can take care of himself." He had this feeling that something
wasn't right.

"Call it off!" T'renij exclaimed. "Are you out of your mind?! Do you
have any idea how much shit we'll get in if we ditch this meeting?"

Faedos clenched his hands into tight fists, trying not to strangle the
man.

"And do you have any idea how much more shit we'll be in if we get
caught by Geode dragonriders?" he managed to get out between clenched
teeth. Why did T'renij always have to question him, he was the one in
charge!

"Cinkyre didn't pick anything up," Denik said with sullen belligerance.

"Barnath and I arrived first so they coul-" Faedos started to explain
with as much patience as he could muster.

"Manfred didn't pick anything up either. I hope this isn't one of your
feelings again, Fae. I remember what happened the last time." T'renij
glared at his leader and jammed his hands into his pockets.

Faedos glared right back. His feeling could have saved Higs from going
up in flames during the attack on Phaedra, but of course trust them not
to remember what the damned feeling was for!

"I tell you I know someone is here!" Faedos said angrily, tired of their
insubordination and thick skulls. "Barnath said he sensed two dragon's
when we teleported in."

"So where are they now?" T'renij asked mockingly.

"How the hell should I know," Faedos answered, wishing that the man
hadn't joined so he could strangle him. "But I know they have to be
around here somewhere." He paused, knowing that there was no way he was
going to get them to leave, their stubborn male egos wouldn't allow it.
'Sides, T'renij was partly right, they'd be in deep shit if they backed
out on nothing more then a brief sense of other dragons. He was going
to have to compromise, and maybe convince T'renij to be careful, though
it was unlikely

"We just have to find their riders and make sure they don't ruin
anything," he said grudgingly. What was the use anyway?

"How can anyone be here?" Denik asked in his slow way. "I thought the
owner assured us that no one would be here this week? that's why we set
the meeting to be here."

"Well maybe if Barnath can't sense them any longer they're gone,"
T'renij offered, knowing as well as Faedos and Denik that if they blew
up at each other, something was going to go wrong and right now it was
only a possibility.

"Maybe... but I would feel better knowing that for sure before the
others arrive," Barnath's rider growled and then started towards the
steps leading inside. "If you find anyone here, make sure they don't get
away."

"I still think he's crazy for having this meeting so close to Geode
Warren," Denik muttered. "What if we get caught? *He* won't like it."

Faedos sighed, that was Denik for you, not as stupid as he sounded, but
always a victim. They walked into the chalet and split up to scope the
place out. A few minutes later they met up in the front hall again to
report.

"Well someone was here, even if they're not here now," T'renij admitted
grudgingly.

"Yea, there's fresh dishes in the sink in the kitchen and those rooms we
found upstairs," Denik said, looking around as if expecting someone to
just walk in the door.

Faedos couldn't blame him, it had to be damn obvious that someone was
here for both of them to agree with him. He was just thankful that all
of them were now aware that this rendezvous wasn't going to be so easy
anymore. Still, no sign of them which meant that it was going to happen
today; he didn't want to go through this again, that is if he didn't get
sent to scrub pots like some newly joined.

"Well they ain't here no more," the leader of the three spoke. "Or we
would have found them. But just to be on the safe side I think we should
have our dragons stationed outside to make sure no one leaves here or
enters without us knowing about it."

The two of them nodded, for once all of them in perfect agreement. They
gave the orders and their dragons took up their positions. Then they
started to do a really thorough search of the chalet while they waited.

About an hour later, their dragons informed them that a man was
approaching on horseback. Only Faedos went out to greet him, holding
the horses bridle while the averagely built man dismounted.

They clasped forearms in a business like fashion and sized each other
up. Faedos could find nothing particularily remarkable about his
contact; he had longish black hair, palish skin and brown eyes.

"Faedos Hithra," he introduced himself, not bothering to give a false
name.

"Dhemley Rin."

"Let's go in from the cold, one of my companions can take care of your
horse. We have business to discuss after all."

"Yes we do. Though I assure you, we won't be long enough to make
unsaddling the horse necessary. We're merely exchanging terms for our
betters to decide upon, as you well know I'm sure."

"Yes," Faedos agreed, not a bit disappointed. He already disliked this
Dhemley Rin.

Side by side, though by no means friends, they walked into the chalet.
It was time to get down to business.

NRPG: Yes I'm aware its rather a dead end, but what they hey, it was
fun. I'll get to your tag Tracee when Allen posts (hint hint *EG*) so I
can get that whole time slot out of the way in one swoop.
