NRPG: I'm sorry if you get this twice, my 'battle' mailing list was goofed up, so about half of the people bounced, so I'm just sending this out again, also as an email test :) .... Louise RPG: December 1 >(Next morning, on the green)(from John's post) >Gamma was as ready as it was going to be, T'rell thought as he sat atop Flerrion and watched the wing making its final preparations. He'd thought at first that the wing would be one dragon and rider short - Jayleigh hadn't been willing to budge on her orders that Nefiri and Danavin remain in the warren for the time being. Fortunately, she'd allowed riders from Alpha and Beta wings to volunteer to go along. One surprise he'd gotten was that Vesta, the warrenlady's courier, would be flying with them. And now he got another surprise as Sprarroe landed alongside Flerrion. Piper breathed deeply. She wished that she was going home, but she knew that she would never forgive herself if she didn't go to the help of Geode in their need. She had no Warrenlady to clear her decision with, but she felt that Evelle would have wanted her to go. She wondered briefly about Aleipha and Devon. Where were they? Would they show up at Geode Warren, also? >As one, the dragons of Gamma Wing leaped skyward, circling the warren once before teleporting. Piper was taking a place of a rider that wasn't going for some reason or another. She felt naked and unprotected without Aleipha at her right hand. The pair had flown together since they had trained at Norwall Warren, and she missed her and the blue dragon, Penthos. >He held on tightly as Flerrion closed his wings and dove, with the whole wing right behind them. <T'rell, where is Callyanth going?> Flerrion asked, just as T'rell saw Vesta's dragon peel out of formation and plummet downward, disappearing a moment later into the bowl of the embattled warren. Piper was horrified at what appeared to be the retreat of an unimaginable throng of wraiths. It seemed impossible, if the wild lands had emptied their hideous population and sent them to destroy one warren. She sighed as the attack seemed to suddenly break off. This was not going to be an easy task. The enemy seemed purposeful and directed, much moreso than any of the wraiths that Piper had ever dealt with. As the word was given, Bishvilea settled down onto the ground of the bowl of Geode warren, and Piper left to find if any from Jasra Warren had arrived yet. She knew that if Aleipha had gotten the message she would turn up sooner or later... most likely, sooner. Suddenly, Piper heard a voice, loud enough to carry the meanace to her, but not loud enough to carry far. >Farr'in growled and moved Meena gently out of his way, "You self-centered little prick!" >Devon glared back, not cowering exactly, but definitely taking a step away from the bigger man. >Suddenly there was a fourth voice, yelling as a tiny figure pushed her way protectively in front of Devon , "Stop! Stop!" >"Piper!" Devon said happily as he forgot all about Farr'in and Meena and wrapped his arms around her. "I've been looking for you." >Meena grabbed Farr'in's arm and pulled him back, as she turned to look at the young woman. Piper squirmed out of Devon's grasp, and said, "Stop it, Devon! Stop it!" Turning then to Meena, her gaze took in Farr'in as he stood protectively next to the woman who looked enough to like Piper to be her older sister, at the least. Farr'in gazed back at her, wondering. "Meena, please, I'm so sorry. I never wanted to come between you and Devon, I only wanted happiness for both of you together," Piper's eyes filled with tears as the memories rushed back, from the first confused love that had turned into disaster at Norwall to the relationship that seemed to develope almost on its own, in Jasra, by the sea. "Piper, don't you see?" Devon said, stepping close to her again, laying his hand on her arm, "Meena has a new mate." Her gaze fell more fully on Farr'in, then she looked at Meena and turned then to Devon. Her mouth opened and shut and then she turned back to look at Meena. The other woman's gaze was held by her mate. Turning back to Devon, Piper said, "It doesn't matter, it's wrong. I.. we.. I.." her voice quivered and she stammered, not knowing what to say. Finally, her gaze fell on the crews that were helping to clear the destruction that the wraith attack had left in its wake. "I.. Meena, I'm sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen, but now, we should help and not quarrel. After all this is over, then there will be time to .. to.. talk, I guess." Piper turned away from Meena, not wanting to face the woman any longer, she felt filthy, evil, and nothing she could ever do would heal the wound that was left, of that she was sure. Respectfully submitted, Piper and Bishvilea NRPG: Just a little private fun during total destruction.. I mean, what's the fun of a war if you can't have a little love/hate relationship in the midst of it all :) Louise Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle: If you know how fast you're driving, you must be lost.
