"Let me out of here!!" the man yelled as he pounded on the door to the room
yet again, wincing in pain from the sound of his own voice echoing in his
ears. The hangover was bad .. and all he needed was a little drink to deaden
the pain. "Com'on!" he hollered. "You can't keep me locked up here forever!"

"Step back from the door, Slime!" a gruff voice responded, "Tara's here to
see you."

Devon did as he was instructed, scratching at the scruff on his face, before
running his hands through his greasy hair. It was about time, now maybe he'd
know what the heck was going on! He'd been attacked and they locked him up!
It wasn't fair!

The door clicked open and the gruff-voiced man walked in with a large sword
poised ready .. followed by Tara.

"Tara." Devon's voice was filled with relief. "They've locked me up here ..
and I've done nothing wrong. I was attacked!"

He clutched his head, trying to drive out the pain so he could talk to her.

"You were drunk on duty, Devon." Tara said firmly. "That is not acceptable
behavior."

"I was NOT drunk!" he said indignantly .. then from Tara's look, he dropped
his head, "Okay I had a bit to drink. But I was doing my job! I tried to
stop the creeps, but a group of them jumped me! Ask Xanith!"

<<Day 10 - Evening, I think >>

The large Crimson dragon cuddled happily with the queen now that the little
pests were gone .. but even that was short lived as Varaenna suddenly roared
angrily and rose up awkwardly heading toward the door of the hatching
cavern.

<Where are you going?> he called to her.

<There's an unwelcome queen in my warren and I'm going to chase her out!>

<Varaenna, you are in no condition to ..> Sabbith protested but Varaenna was
already on her way to confront the intruder.

<Females!> he growled and hurried after her, tripping over his own feet and
making the ground rumble in his attempt to hurry after her.

She was already facing off the seadragon queen by time he finally caught up
with her.

>The seadragon queen was taken aback to suddenly be faced with an  opponent
larger than herself, but would not back off as long as she felt her
hatchlings threatened.  The two queens growled menacingly at one another,
teeth bared.

>Sabbith was  growling angrily as he tried to figure out a way to separate the
two queens before they could strike at one another.

Sabbith looked in surprise as the young Loki stepped up to face off with the
queen as well. He would have laughed had the situation not been so serious.
The young dragon was actually trying to communication intelligently with a
*WILD* dragon. Did the young dragons not learn anything in training anymore!

>Loki then sidled right up alongside the wilder and snuggled in.

Sabbith's jaw dropped .. the dragon obviously had a death wish!

>Varaenna snarled at Loki's maneuver and puffed up. In response, the seaqueen
arched her neck angrily as her sides swelled.

To his surprise the young dragon's move seemed to settle the wild dragon ..
but Sabbith did not trust it. <Loki! Get out of there, before you get
yourself killed! Look what you're doing to Varaenna!>

>The sea dragon queen was settling down without another blast of steam and that
Loki was crooning happily. Varaenna, on the other hand, still looked
furious, but with Sabbith trying to restrain her and Loki in the way, there
was little she could do - right now.

The moments ticked away .. slowly, and Sabbith, next to Varaenna waited on
edge as Loki continued to try to talk sense into the wild queen. He was as
shocked as anyone when the sea queen stood and headed away from Loki .. and
her now joined hatchling.

>The white-silver queen tossed her head angrily, but Sabbith blocked her path to
the retreating intruder.

<She's going, Varaenna .. let her go.>

<She should not have been her in the first place!>

Sabbith wrapped his neck about hers and caressed her gently, <Come .. it's
over. Your own children need you to get some rest. Let's go back to the
hatching cavern.>
