Day 19 – afternoon

After discussing the initial diplomatic meeting with Tara,
Yasu set off to his apartment. These sea people were of great
interest to him, but the duplicitous nature of the discussion he had
witnessed did not please him. Hidden agendas and veiled innuendos
had no place at discussions of this nature, in Yasu's opinion. It
was an idealistic view to be certain, but it would greatly simplify
the process.

He spied Gus approaching him, and by the look of her he had
an idea of what she was looking for. Stopping in his tracks, he
bowed politely to the young lady, "Good afternoon, young Gus."

"Can I talk to you," came the inevitable question.

Yasu smiled serenely, "Of course, I was just going to my
apartment. We will talk while we walk."

Day 19 – evening

<Dining Hall>

Yasu preferred to dine in quiet environs, usually his own
apartment where he could quietly ponder the days events. However,
given the events that had transpired, Yasu figured that he should be
more social during meals for the next few days. Event though he was
available whenever aid was needed, this emphasized that impression.

He saw Corwin and another lady sitting, with the new one,
Summer, taking a place with them. Sighing deeply, he walked over to
the table.

Corwin glanced up, "Yasu! I don't think I've seen you here
in the dining hall at this time. Come, have a seat with us."

Yasu smiled, "Thank you for your kindness, friend Corwin."

He took a seat opposite Summer, "Good evening, friend
Summer. I welcome you to Jasra. May you enjoy your stay here."

Corwin looked over at Yasu, "How goes the situation with
Selene?"

Yasu paused, "I was able to visit her briefly today, as the
diplomatic talks kept me occupied. From what I could interpret she
took my words to heart, but will need to develop more discipline to
make herself better."

Corwin chuckled, "Best of luck to you and let me know if you
need help."

Yasu nodded, "I thank you for your offer, friend Corwin."

He turned his attention back to Summer, "I must apologize for
my rudeness the other day. I sometimes follow a routine too
vigorously. I hope that I did not anger you with my behavior."
