"No...." Danielle's  eyes filled with tears. Her whole life ruined. Her
tear filled eyes met Kay's and suddenly she was in his arms crying. Her
whole body shook with sobs. She felt Kay's arms tighten around her,
holding her as she cried out her sorrow. They sat there like that until
Danielle's sobs lessened and finally stopped. She sat back and searched
his face with her eyes, trying to figure out what he was feeling. "So, why
did you come back?" she asked.

*You needed me ..* he signed, then shrugged, *I wanted to make sure you
were ok.*

"After all I have put you through, you still come when I need a friend."
Danielle looked at him with wonder in her eyes. "I am surprised you don't
hate me."

*How could I ever hate you,* he signed, *you were my first .. * he paused
then changed his mind, *I do not hate you. Never could hate you*

Danielle looked at him, a very small smile coming to her face as she
remembered the first time they had made love. She took his hand in hers.
"You are very special..." and then she looked down, as she could not meet
his eyes, and muttered 'and I was very stupid.'

*Now is not the time to think such things,* he signed after pulling her
face up to look at him. He had been watching her carefully and her self
depreciating remark had not escaped him.

She looked angry for a moment as she again thought of her loss. "If I had
stayed with you, the man who cared for me, the man who loved me, and not
chased some silly teenagers dream, none of this would have happened, and I
wouldn't have lost my baby. We would be happily preparing for the birth of
our child." Danielle had new tears in her eyes. "Instead, I am left with
nothing! No baby, no mate..." Her voice trailed off as she let out a
choked sob.

He pulled her into his arms cutting off her anger and letting her fall
into loud sobs against his chest. It was good to get out the grief.. he
would hold her as long as it took.

Danielle sobbed out all her heartbreak there against Kay's chest. It felt
so good to have him hold her again, his warm strong arms around her,
holding her tightly. Slowly her sobs lessened and she moved back slightly
from him, her red tear streaked face looking at him. Then she let out a
short non humorous laugh. "I must look a mess with all this crying." she
said as she shoved her hair back from her face.

*You are Beautiful .. a beautiful angel..* he smiled.

She actually smiled a real smile with that comment. "You're biased." she
said, leaning forward to kiss him softly on his mouth, a butterflies
caress.

He grinned wide, pleased to see a bit of light come back to her eyes, *Or
at the very least blinded by you.*

Danielle was about to lean forward and kiss him again, when the door
opened and in walked R'chein. He smiled, glad to see she was awake.
"Danielle...glad to see you are back with us this morning." Then his face
sobered. "Did Kay tell you?"

Danielle's face fell a bit and then she nodded. "I know I lost the baby."
Danielle said, her voice threatening to break into sobs again, but she
fought them off. "You're going to let me go home, aren't you?"

R'chein looked at Kay, realizing that he had not yet told her that as well
as losing her baby, Danielle would never be able to have children again.
There had been so much blood loss, they had had to do surgery, and take
her uterus. "Well, I am not sure. I don't want you by yourself."

Danielle's face fell, then suddenly she looked pleadingly at Kay. "Could
you come stay with me, Kay? Please?"

Stay? Kay was a bit surprised. He couldn't stay .. could he? Tara was
expecting him back soon .. but the pleading look in Danielle's eyes made
his body respond before his head had stopped spinning, *of course ..*

Danielles eyes lit up and she spontaneously leaned forward, kissing him on
the mouth again, this time with a bit more force. She then looked up at
R'chein, "See, there is no reason not to let me go home. Kay will take
care of me."

R'chein looked thoughtful but then nodded. "Just take it easy, and I want
daily checkups for the next week."

Danielle nodded and then as R'chein left the room she stood up peeling off
her gown as she headed for the small closet in the room, assuming she had
clothes there. She frowned as she opened it up and realized there was
nothing there. She turned around and looked at Kay, still nude, and asked.
"Any idea where my clothes are?"

Kay shook his head quickly trying to take his eyes off her. Despite all
she'd been thru her body was still perfect. Very little changed since last
he had touched .. *no,* he signed finally able to pull his eyes away by
standing up and turning around.

Danielle smiled when Kay turned around. She walked over to where she had
dropped the gown and picked it up, pulling it back on. "Well, I guess I'll
wear this home and bring it back later. I mean, you may have seen
everything under it, but the whole warren hasn't." She tugged a bit on his
sleeve. "Lets go."

Kay found it hard to believe that  there was anyone in the warren who had
not seen Danielle naked. She was in no way shy about nudity! He allowed
himself to be led out of the med center calling to Sabbith to meet him at
the entrance.

Danielle walked out and saw a familiar red dragon waiting, as well as her
own precious Violet. She gave Violet a quick hug and then apologized to
her. (I am going to ride with Kay on Sabbith, Violet. I am still a bit
weak and I don't think either of us would be happy if I fell off you.) She
then moved towards Sabbith, letting Kay help her mount.

Kay helped Danielle carefully into the seat then slid in behind her
wrapping his arms around her and giving Sabbith the order to fly .. he
didn't have to tell him where to go .. he knew the way ..

Danielle slid off when they reached her apartment and entered slowly,
almost hoping that Violet had been wrong when she had told her that Trap
and Diemas were really gone. Danielle slowly walked around the apartment,
feeling the emptiness. Thankfully someone had cleaned up the blood.

Kay watched Danielle carefully, and did not miss the paleness that came
over her as she tentatively entered the apartment, *Are you ok ..?*

Danielle straightened up and looked at Kay with determination "I will be.
After all, there is no reason I can't start again."

She moved over towards Kay, draping her arms around his neck. She then
kissed him again and looked at him with a twinkle in her eye. "Start again
with someone who cares about me." Danielle was determined to erase the
memories of a certain man named Traplin.

Kay tried to pull back, quickly signing, *Wait ..*

She looked up at him questioningly, and he plowed on, *Now is not the time
for you to be thinking about another relationshiop already ..*

Danielle looked at him and smiled. "Oh, I know you're worried if I am
physically up to anything. Don't worry...we can caress and kiss. We don't
have to do anything more." She reached towards his groin and softly
stroked him, not listening to his objections. Danielle had always
forgotten her hurts by quickly moving on and pretending they didn't hurt.

Kay pushed back again, *It's just that ..* but he coulnd't object as
Danielle grabbed his hands and pulled him in for more kisses and
carresses .. Kay's heart began beating wildly and his body was responding
quickly to the familarness of Danielle.

Danielle reached one hand up and undid the gown, wrigling her body so it
slid to the floor. She reached for one of Kay's hands and placed it on her
right breast as she started to undo his trousers, caressing him through
the material as she did so. She started to think of Trap, and then quickly
pushed him out of her mind as she concentrated on the man before her, the
one who had always been there when she needed him.

Even as Danielle's mind flashed with images of Trap, Kay found himself
seeing Tara's face and knowing she would be upset  .. He made one last
halfhearted effort to pull back just as Danielle's hand slid around his
manhood and began to work her magic.
He wasn't even sure when or how, but he was was soon naked, laying back on
the cushions as Danielle's mouth took over where her hands had left off.

Danielle felt her own body flush as she caressed Kay, her mouth sliding
over familiar territory, and as his hands caressed her body as well, she
moaned softly. This was what she wanted to remember, not the pain and loss
associated with Trap. This...Danielle's mind pushed everything else out
except the joy her body was feeling, forgetting even that she had promised
R'chein to take it easy, as she slid herself onto Kay's hardened manhood.

Danielle felt a small twinge of pain, but then even that was gone as she
smoothly moved on Kay, driving him into her wetness.

Kay lost himself in time .. and in reality .. as he forgot everything but
Danielle's body. It was just like it always was with her .. complete
erotic bliss, and he took every sensation .. every taste .. hungrily.

Danielle continued to search for every sensation she could to block out
all the pain and sadness she had felt these last few days, luxuriating in
the feelings as Kay and her moved as one. Suddenly, she felt it, felt
herself losing hold, as her body exploded into sweet orgasm, feeling Kay
arch as he did as well. As she rode it out, her world was swimming a bit,
as she lost her grip on this world, sliding off into a beautiful half
sleep/half unconsciousness, with Kay still inside her, and a smile on her
face.
