It struck both Darlea and Minty at the same time. David was intending to do
great harm to V'rdeen.  The girls both called to their dragon's at the same
time. Darlea ran out of the hall jumping on Makayla's back. They couldn't
allow David to do something he'd regret.

<Where is Kalin and David?> she asked her little green dragon.

There was silence as Makayla checked with the other dragons for thier
location. <Kaylin'sha won't answer Kirimith. If he won't answer we can't
find them that way.>

<Just fly high and look then, deary. We have to find them!> Makayla did as
she was told and made for the heights to find the pair. It didn't take long
to spot the large Onyx dragon hissing by V'rdeen's light purple one.

<There they are!> Makayla shouted, spotted them.

<Tell Kirimith.> Said Darlea, but Kiri and her rider had already spotted
them and were heading down toward them. Darlea followed close behind her.
Quickly landing the two young women ran to David.

"David, don't do this..." said Minty, pulling on his arm.

"Back off, Minty. I've got 'te do this." David said shaking her off.

Darlea moved over and helped Briana up. Then the two girls moved between
David and V'rdeen, blocking his access to the man who seemed truly
distraught behind them. Darlea remembered the way he had deceived her....
what if he was just doing it again. It didn't matter. If David killed
V'rdeen, it would be bad for David.  Killing another human being, even one
as despicable as V'rdeen was a serious offense. Not to mention what the loss
of the dragon would do to the Warren. Even to David's own dragon.

Dragon's mourned the death of other dragons deeply. The death of even just
one could set them off and into mourning for several days.

"Aye, now ye two ge' ou'ta my way." David said glowering at them, obviously
not thinking about the consequences of his intended actions.

"No, David." Said Darlea, "This isn't the way. We have to do this right. No
sense ruining everything you've gained for .... him." 

David hesitated for a moment and Minty put her arms around his waist.
"Please listen," she whispered.

"No! He must be made te pay fer his misdeeds!" Shouted David and making a
move toward the female barrier in front of him.

"David... please. Think about what you're doing...  Think about Kaylin...
Think about Minty. If you do this, you will make it worse for them." Darlea
pleaded.
