Minty and Darlea realised what David had in mind at the exact same moment,
and both women ran for the door, calling their dragons


"Kirimith stop Kaylin.  David needs time to think... tell Kaylin to keep him
aloft!*  Minty was frantic


*Kaylin will refuses to hear me!  I am sorry Minty... I should not have
called Kaylin to bring David to you, I thought only to help.....*  the
dragon was contrite,  *....but you could not keep this to yourself.  David
needed to be told!*


*I know Kiri, I know!  Now we must stop David before he does something he'll
regret when he calms down.  Bespeak Alicynth and Malekith.... maybe Kaylin
will answer them!*


*Done!  I still have no answer from Kaylin....*  suddenly Kirimith banked
sharply, bringing the pair towards the training arena that Brianna had
erected.  *They are here Minty.....*  and she backwinged to land neatly
beside her mate.


Minty slid down and ran to where Darlea was trying to dissuade David.
Catching his arm to gain attention, she said


"Don't do this David.  Please love....."


"Back off Minty.  I've got 'te do this." David said shaking her off.


He tried to walk round her, intent on reaching V'rdeen, not thinking about
what killing the man would do.  V'rdeen continued to hide behind the other
two women, fear etched on his face.


"He's sorry for what he's done...." shouted Brianna  "Don't you think he
deserves a second chance.  Surely you could give him that much....."


Minty threw a look of disgust at the girl, but concentrated on keeping David
from his purpose


"Think love, please think!"  she stood in front of him, weaving from side to
side as he sought to pass her.  "Please love.... don't throw everything
away!  He's not worth it!  A coward.... he allows a woman to fight his
battles for him.  Please love.... don't take yourself down to his level!"
*Kirimith....talk to Kaylin!  If David kills V'rdeen then Quezarth will
teleport to his death.......*


*We're both trying to make him hear us.....*  Kirimith said shortly


Darlea added her pleas to Minty's;


"David... please. Think about what you're doing...  Think about Kaylin...
Think about Minty. If you do this, you will make it worse for them." 


Minty suddenly had an idea;


*Kirimith.... speak to Kaylin and Makayla... block David... don't let him
reach V'rdeen.  He will not hurt you or the others.....*


Suddenly Darlea gave a small "Oh" of surprise, as Makayla told her what the
dragons intended doing..... and the three dragons moved into position
surrounding David.........
