Briana did as she was told & rested Starleana & oiled her more & got to 
know her dragon over the next few days. Star didn't seem to be growing as 
big or as fast as the other dragons but she was just right for Briana. 
Briana had heard V'rdeens punishment & she also knew that he had tried to 
make some indiviual apologies but people had avoided him. He had told her 
privately he was going to give them a little more time & then try again.

Briana & S'brogh were also spending more time together, & S'brogh was 
showing her a few combat maneuvers on the side as Wynn had put off her 
training for a few days because of Star not being very big. He finally 
let her join the wing as he realized that even though Star was smaller, 
she was strong & agile.

Briana & S'brogh spent more & more time on their mountaintop when they 
weren't busy training & patrolling. The discussion had again come up 
about getting a place together but no decision had been made. Now that 
Star was flying Briana had spent some time staying with S'brogh but 
nothing had been finalized.

About a week after the hatching Briana & S'brogh were relaxing together 
near Keldarra when S'brogh said "I have to go. There is a wraith attack 
at Marrid"

(Malekith says we are to stay here, its too massive & we don't have 
enough training) Star said to Briana

"Wynn says I am to stay, I don't have enough  training" Briana said to 
S'brogh.

"I'll be back soon" S'brogh said & kissed her quickly before mounting 
Iganeth & flying off.

Briana sighed at having to stay behind but she understood. She didn't 
want to risk Star without enough training.

She passed the time & when Gamma wing came back she went over & asked how 
things were going.

"Not good, many deaths" one of the riders informed her.

"Did any of you see S'brogh?" Briana asked.

"I think he is injured, but am not sure how badly" he replied "He is at 
the Marrid medical center.

Briana gasped. She knew she needed to see S'brogh but she also knew not 
to fly there til the battle was over with.

(Star, ask on of the dragons for a picture of Marrid Warren so we can 
teleport there as soon as I feel its safe)

Briana paced & paced & as more of the wings came home she found the 
battle was over. She also got confirmation that S'brogh was in the 
medical Center but that it didn't seem serious, some injurues to his legs.

(Star, its time)

Briana climbed up onto Star & they took off & as Briana & Star pictured 
Marrid in their minds they disappeared from sight....

And appeared over Marrid. The sight was devastating. Bodies everywhere, 
dragons keening.

As Briana landed she heard another keen as a dragon launched itself into 
the air & disappeared.

(Star, find Iganeth & stay with him while I go see S'brogh)

(Briana, Iganeth says S'brogh is depressed a feels like an invalid & 
doesn't want to see anyone)

(Star, tell Iganeth to tell S'brogh that I am coming in to see him, & he 
is not an invalid)

Briana pushed her way into the medical center & gasped when she saw how 
many injured there were. She looked around & spotted S'brogh. She went 
over to where he was laying on his side.

"S'brogh...."

"I told Iganeth to tell you that I didn't want to see anyone" S'brogh said

"But, S'brogh, you & I are close....& I was afraid for you, worried about 
you" Briana said

"I told you I didn't want to see anyone....I am useless like this" 
S'brogh spat the words out.

"But S'brogh, you are alive & will heal" Briana said.
"Look at all the others who have died here!"

"I don't care, go away!" S'brogh yelled

Briana was getting angry by now. "How can you be so selfish! Half the 
warren here has died, including a pregnant queen & her rider & you are 
depressed & feeling sorry for yourself because of two broken legs!"

"Go away!" S'brogh yelled

Briana turned & ran out of the medical Center crying. She thought he had 
cared about her. How could he act like that to her. She was standing 
outside the medical center when she heard a soft voice behind her.

"Can I help?" Briana heard Almiron ask.

"Its S'brogh, hes depressed about being injured & refuses to see anyone" 
Briana cried. "I didn't know I cared so much til I heard he was hurt & 
then didn't know how bad....now he doesn't even want to see me cause he 
feels like an invalid"

"Maybe I can help" Almiron said "let me think for while"

"Almiron, there are others who need you worse right now" Briana said "but 
maybe, if it isn't too much on you, could you help him later?"
