(DL K/M) Waylene goes back to Marrid

[DL] Waylene

Waylene sat through the first half of the Council of Warrens. She fought to
keep the tears out of her eyes. Several of the Warrens were giving far
beyond what she would have expected. Some were even planning on asking for
volunteers to transfer to Marrid. She was truly touched by the help.

When they took a recess, Waylene and Z'lec sat in the dining hall and
stoically endured the sympathy from the other WarrenLady's and thier
seconds. It was something that Waylene, as WarrenLady of Marrid, knew she
would have to do, though she would have preferred to hide up in a hole.
Ophelia from Telnor was very gracious, as was Jaquel from Norwall. B'Nair
from Falagand seemed distracted and raging over something, but she still
payed her regards.

Once everyone was done with paying thier respects, they pretty much avoided
the pair. Waylene understood that, after all who would want to be reminded
that this could happen.

"You seem to be holding up pretty good," said Z'lec taking her hand.

"Just on the outside," said Waylene. "Z'lec, I really appreciate the help
from the other Warrens. I know we need it. But I can't help but worry that
it won't be enough. We lost over half our dragons... It will take several
clutches to repopulate. It will take Aura years to do that."

"They are asking for volunteers, 'Lene. Have a little faith. It'll work out."

"I'm trying, really I am. But that horrible Malk is still out there. Do you
really think he will leave us along?" She looked desperately at Z'lec. She
really wanted to believe that he would, but watching Z'lec's face, she knew
that there was little hope that he would.

Soon there were the sounds of dragon wings returning, so Waylene and Z'lec
headed back toward the Great Hall. Evelle met them there.

"We should be starting again soon, Waylene. I hope it won't be long before
you can take some good news back to Marrid."

Waylene smiled, "I hope you're right. They could use some good news right now."

Z'lec agreed, "Yes. Though, you'd be surprised how much spirits were up when
I was there yesterday. With news that there was to be this council meeting
and some of the riders and dragons being healed so quickly... Thanks, I
might add to the Keldarra healers... the Warren is actually in pretty good
spirits, all things considered."

"I'm glad to hear that." said Evelle smiling.

Christalla finally called the Council back together and everyone took their
seats.

[DL] After the council meeting.

After a total tally it looked like there would be a total of 22 dragon pairs
moving from various warren's to Married. The number was much higher then
Waylene would have expected. While it didn't make up for all the lost pairs,
it would help considerably. And two queens! Between the three of them, they
would have the Warren full in no time.

Waylene was especially surprised at the Falagand WarrenLady's generosity,
considering her foul mood in the earlier session. Though watching her as she
left to return to her Warren, it seemed her earlier cloud had dissipated.
She seemed almost jovial.

Waylene thanked each of the WarrenLady's as they left to return to thier own
Warrens. When only Christalla and Evelle were left, she turned them. "I want
to thank you so much for your hospitality, and for allowing me to stay here
in Keldarra for the last couple of days. But I think now it is time I
returned to Marrid. I would like to deliver the news myself."

"I understand," said Christalla. "We only did for you what we know you would
do for us were the situations reversed."

Waylene nodded, "Please tell those who are volunteering to transfer that
they may come as soon as they are ready. I'm sure there will plenty for them
to do. Z'lec tells me the wing from Telnor returned yesterday to thier own
Warren, so our remaining dragons could probably use a break from patrolling."

"I will do that," smiled Christalla.

Waylene nodded and left the great hall. Aura and Raynod were already
awaiting their riders. Together the WarrenLady and her mate mounted thier
dragons and teleported back home.

NRPG: This should be Waylene's last post to Keldarra :) I will be posting
again tonight, with a post that will set up Marrid a little better. However,
I won't need to send that to both groups, I don't think. Those moving to
Marrid... feel free to post before that if you want... Right now D'nar is
in charge... though he's not very happy about it :)
