(DL - K) Exploration...

Ames stepped out from the confines of the main guild hall, definietly
tired. It had been months since the construction had begun, and now is
was drawing at an end, with him in charge. Sighing, he leaned against
one of the heavy oaken doors, and stared at the sky. Some dragons were
flying about, probably doing maneuvers. That was a sight he would never
get used to. Living in a warren required alot of new things.

He thought back to the meeting he had just concluded with the rest of the
new council. An odd sort of mixture to be sure. Each one had a distinct
personality, and a different way of doing things. He knew his wife, Khi,
and Everette BladeMistress, but the others were new, transferred from the
other Guilds around the DragonLands. Zephyr seemed to be the one most in
control, yet he didn't talk much, and tended to just listen, not offering
any input unless called upon. Then there was Stephan, and Ames was
reminded of himself when he was that age. With a shudder, he smiled. He
was going to be a wild one, but would grow to be a good leader.

They were all going to meet again for dinner in the warrens dining hall, more
to look around and meet the locals than to really discuss anything
important. Many in the guild were exploreing the new warren, getting
tired of being cooped up inside a musty cavern for the past months. He
just hoped there would be no trouble between his people and the warren
folk. There seemed to be an incident recently due to being landbound,
but Michelle had put a stop to it quickly and quitely.

Getting up, Ames started walking, not really caring where he was going,
just wanting to explore. He was curious about the surroundings of the
warren. And besides, he needed to talk with Christalla about a few
things, mostly political. He hated doing the job, but as Senoir Council,
he was required to. Passing a few people, he received a mix of
reactions. Many offered a 'good afternoon' and such, and Ames eagerly
said the same, chatting with some for a few minutes. But then there was
the occational glare from those who didn't quite accept LandBound living
amoung them. Shrugging them off, Ames was determined to keep his good mood.

Walking out onto a grassy field, he saw Zypher BladeMaster sitting
underneath a tree reading a book, and definitly entrapped within it. Walking
up to him, the man blinked and looked towards Ames. Smiling, he folded
the page he was on and stood.

"Zephyr, how are ye doin?" Ames said, extending his hand.

Shaking it, the man just shrugged and looked around him. "It es very
peaceful here, Ames. I like it, being in te'mountains." He breathed
deeply, and streached. "We are still goin t'te'dining hall tonight?" He
said a bit nervously.

"Aye. We are goin t'try t'mingle with te'locals and see how they react."
Ames said with a michevious glint in his eyes. "Maybe ye will meet a
nice young woman..."

Zephyr shook his head and chuckled. "Ames, I be older than ye are. I
just wasn't meant t'be married..."

"Well, ye never know. I be on me way t'see Christalla about a few
things. Do ye wish t'come along? I would appreciate the company." Ames
mentioned while watching aome more dragons in the sky.

"I don't know. I assume I will have t'meet her eventually?"

"Aye, might as well be now. She don't bite, Zephyr, though I've heard
she can be a bit like Michelle..."

Zephyr laughed and nodded. "I'll go with ye just because ye may need a
body gaurd." Ames laughed with him, and the two walked off seeking the
DragonLadys office.

It took a while of puzzleing out the seemingly infinite expance of
tunnels to find her office, but after about an hour, they arrived. Some
young DragonRiders were just leaving, and they nodded towards Ames and
Zephyr civily. Shrugging, Ames knocked on the door and recieved the call
to come in. Waling into the room, the two men found the DragonLady
stareing at a few documents, absorbed in her work. "I assume you've come
to inquire about the transfer?" She said without looking up.

"But we just got here a few months ago?" Ames said, confused. Christalla
looked up with a start, clearly expecting someone else to be there.

"Ames! Please excuse the mistake. I've been so busy with the transfer
of riders and the council that I didn't know you were here. Who is your
friend?" She asked, looking at Zephyr who was looking amoungst the
bookshelves at a series of works.

Ames smiled and lay a hand on his shoulder. "Zephyr, this es te'DragonLady
Christalla."

The older man gave a start, and blushed deeply. "Hello. I was looking
at a few o'te'books on yer shelves, and..." He just trailed off, not
knowing really what to say.

"Zephyr es one o'our council members in te'new chapter. We came t'discuss
just a few things now that te'chapter has been finished." He
said, getting buisness out of the way.

Christalla sighed. "Now isn't really a good time. We had an attack a
few days ago..." She explained what had happened at the battle to Marrid
warren, and that between the transfers and the council, she was swamped
with work. "Has David told you he volenteered to transfer to Marrid?"

Ames shook his head, knowing that his son would probably have stepped
forward if needed. "I'm sure he will tell me later. We can talk another
time about polotics, then. For now, es there anything te'Guild can do
t'help out Marrid?"
