Briana was sitting in the sun when Star interrupted her daydreaming.

(Briana, M'ressan is asking for volunteers to go to Marrid to help them)

Briana thought about this. She didn't have family here but this was the 
only place she really had ties now that her father was gone. To leave 
here....her home? And to leave the friends she'd made here? Almiron, 
Evelle, Wynn, Reolden, & S'brogh? her classes & her students? She had 
just chosen a home....no, she couldn't go. If they insisted then of 
course she would do her duty, but she didn't want to leave.

(They are not forcing anyone to go, it is strictly volunteer)

(Do you want to go,little one?)

(Not really, Briana. I am begginning to make friends with some of the 
dragons here too...Trendal, Melianth, Alicynth, Iganeth, & Darshan 
especially)

(Then its decided, we stay here)

Briana got up & started doing some excercises, she had been lazy enough. 
She started stretching when Evelle showed up.

Briana went back to doing some simple acrobatic manuveurs. She thought 
about the conversation with Evelle. She didn't know if she would ever 
understand about S'brogh, but maybe after some time....She still 
remembered the hurt & anger that she had felt that day. Then being held 
by Almiron.....

She stopped what she was doing & thats when she noticed David watching 
her & he approached her. He complimented her agility & then went on to 
apologize about the episode with V'rdeen.

"I have been meaning to talk with you & Minty about that day, David. I 
hope you know it wasn't personnal & I know that V'rdeen did some awful 
things, but I had to do what I did" Briana stated. "Btw, how did you turn 
away my kick so easily? I have never had anyone be able to do that?"

"My training" David said "That has always made it easier to interpret an 
opponents next move. So, now, tell me about this equipment"

Briana showed him around the tumbling grounds & then gave him a 
demonstration of the tightrope. He looked impressed. She stood in the 
middle of the tightrope & curtsyed & called down "See you later" I need 
to practice a little more. & please try to explain to Minty for me why I 
did what I did that day."

David called out "see you later & left the practice grounds. Briana 
continued to practice & then it was close to dinner time. She & Star 
quickly flew up to their apartment & she got cleaned up & dressed in her 
blue outfit. She pulled on her blue boots that Almiron had made & 
thought about the fact that she had wanted Almiron to make her some new 
clothes also. She wondered if he would have the time & if she could 
figure out something else to barter with. Oh well, she'd think about it 
later. She combed out her long blonde hair & left it loose & climbed on 
Star who landed near the dining hall. 

(You go eat yourself, silly girl & I'll see you later)

Briana stood there a few minutes in front of the dining hall as Star took 
off, realizing how lucky she was to have joined with Star. She sighed 
with happiness & turned to head for the dining hall.
