(DL) The next morning
Scene: Evelle's and Wynn's apartment
Wynn stretched slowly in bed, his eyes gazing up at the ceiling
above. He must have been tired, for it was a least an hour after dawn.
His and Evelle's exuberance at yesterday's hatching was quite ...
breathtaking. He turned his gaze to Evelle, sleeping quietly next to
him, hands tucked up underneath her pillow. He turned on his side,
gazing into her wonderful face, reaching out to stroke a few stray hair
from obscuring his view of her. Evelle murmured softly, shifting her
legs slightly as she traversed between dream and awakening. To aid her
travels, Wynn leaned over, placing his lips lightly upon hers. He soon
felt fingers trace up his arm, and wrap around his shoulders.
"Good morning, love." He said quietly once their kiss had broken.
"Mmm, still morning? I was hoping it would be later." Evelle
said with a smile.
Wynn laughed softly. "You always wish it was later, my dear.
Why, I do not know, the dawn is always beautiful."
Evelle made a face. "Ugh, I can hardly stay awake as it is."
She gave a yawn, and curled up underneath the sheets.
"Oh no." Wynn smiled, moving over to lie along side her. Her
warm body pressed against his, and their arms wrapped almost
instinctively around each other. "What kind of mate would I be to let
the Queenrider sleep in?"
"A kind one?" Evelle quipped, before a kiss interrupted both
their talking. His fingers glided over her body, knowing very well that
virtually every spot on her body would provide her pleasure.
"Princess, may I convince you to come with me to the lagoon?"
Wynn asked, hand running gently over her stomach.
"Mmmm, you could. But couldn't we lay in bed some more?"
Wynn smiled, kissing her nose. "My lazy, lovely Queenrider. If
I could, I would let you sleep all day if you liked. But today, of all
days, will be busy, so soon after the hatching. We have a little while
yet, and I'm sure I can make things interesting for you at the lagoon."
"You intrigue me, Rogue. Find me some clothes, and I will be
with you." Wynn sighed, rising from bed, knowing full well she wanted
to lay lazily in bed for just a little while longer. She stretched
beautifully, watching her mate gather things from the floor and placing
them in a basket. After a bit, he came back to her side, wearing a
simple jerkin and pants, and with similar light clothes for her. He
leaned over and kissed her, pulling her gently up into a sitting
position. She moaned softly into his mouth, feeling her arms gently
lifted and placed into sleeves. Wynn's hands glided down her front,
enticing and teasing before laying her down again. He kissed down her
neck, lightly nibbling her collarbone, his long arms letting his hands
stretch far down her legs. His lips soon found their way to her
breasts, but he remained only long enough to excite and tease, with a
definite promise of more in the near future. With only a little
difficulty, he managed to slip her legs into the breeches he brought,
and his kisses moved back up from her waist to her lips, his fingers
working slowly to do up the buttons of the shirt he had put on her.
Gently he turned her over upon him, her golden red hair dangling down,
lightly brushing his own face. He caressed her back and lazy bottom,
before pulling up the leggings he put her in. The two lay in each
others arms, a long sensual kiss shared between them. She had to admit
that she had never been dressed by Wynn before, it usually went the
other way, but she found it no less provocative. She wondered briefly
if undressing could ever be as interesting, and smiled to herself.
"Awake now, love?" Wynn asked, beginning to enjoy her pleasant
weight upon him more than he probably should and still leave the
apartment soon.
"Mmm-hmm." She said, sitting up upon him. "Though you're not
quite finished yet." She said looking down at her waist. Smiling, he
reached up and hooked her breeches close.
"Let us talk to our dragons. I have fresh clothes and a
breakfast all packed." Wynn said, sitting up beneath her, embracing her
in yet another kiss.
Evelle slid off him, and the two walked hand in hand to the
dragons' ledge.
Wynn smiled as Malekith raised his head at his approach. "How
is the proud father this morning?" He asked, stroking his dragon's snout.
<It is good to have Alicynth back. She belongs here.> Malekith
sent happily.
<I know how you missed her, little one. Does a dip in the
lagoon sound like a pleasant idea?>
Malekith nuzzled Wynn. <You know that it is. The hatching was
most wonderful, wasn't it?>
"I had told you so last night." Wynn said, smiling. <Are there
any like you?>
<We cannot say until they breath in a few days time. Kaeryth
did not know about me.> Malekith replied. <Though there was a young
black in the clutch, not as dark as I am, but suitably handsome
nonetheless.>
Wynn laughed. "I'm certain of it, little one."
Minutes later, the two riders and their dragons lifted off from
the apartment, lazily gliding over the Warren towards the lake and it's
secret lagoon. All bathed and swam lazily in the early morning light,
delighting in all being together again. Evelle was greatly pleased to
find that undressing was even more exciting than she thought it could
be, and for some time the two were lost to each other.
A while later, the two lay together, Evelle's head laying on
Wynn's chest. The dragon's had long since curled up together on the
warm sands nearby. <Wynn, M'ressan wants to know if you and Evelle will
join with him and the Dragonlady for morning meal?> Malekith said
grumpily, hating to have his nap disturbed.
<Sounds wonderful, you lazy dragon. Nap a few minutes more, and
then we'll be on our way.> Wynn smiled, and turned his attention to
Evelle, stroking her hair. "Shall we breakfast back at the Warren?"
"I thought we had some food already?" Evelle asked, sitting up
to look down at him.
"We do, but M'ressan and Christalla would like to breakfast with
us."
Evelle smiled. "Sounds wonderful, I just hope Christalla is in
a better mood than she has been."
Wynn sat up as well. "Well, we have to talk to each of them,
with the new riders and Queenrider. Looks like our days have become
quite busy again. I do need to see if the new riders will be part of my
Wing, and I have to go over the patrol schedule with M'ressan."
"No discussing business now." Evelle said, kissing him
passionately. "Let's eat first."
"Agreed." Wynn smiled, and they both rose to dress.
[Insert Susan's post - When things get out of hand.]
[Insert slew of recent V'rdeen posts. I will keep out of actually
posting anything about this unless I am needed. Wynn will be there, and
though still harbours bad feelings towards V'rdeen, will accept what he
says, especially if he apologizes to Evelle and she accepts it.
Otherwise, I just feel that too many cooks will spoil the broth ... keep
up the good work with this :)]
Scene: Later that day
"Master Kershod?" Wynn called, knocking on the stout wooden
door. Moments later, the elderly weaponmaster walked out.
"Wynn, lad, 'tis good to see you." The older man smiled. "And
a friend? You're that young leatherworker, Almiron is it?"
Almiron nodded respectfully. "I am he, yes."
"Good to meet you too, lad. Now Wynn, what brings you here?"
"A couple of things, really. Almiron will need to fashion metal
for some of his projects, and I had suggested that you could suggest how
he could go about doing so."
Kershod's eyes opened brightly. "Of course, of course, 'twould
be good to have a fresh face at the anvil. Almiron, feel free to come
by whenever you wish to fashion anything. If I can't teach you a few
tricks, maybe you can teach me a few." He said happily.
Though the man was not much taller than Almiron, and nearly
three times his age, Almiron felt slightly intimidated by the older
man. But his friendly nature began to melt that feeling. "Thank you, I
am honoured. I have brought my sword, as many here have never seen one
like it before. I thought you might like to see it as well." Almiron
replied.
Kershod stepped over to the younger man, and glanced down at the
sword Almiron drew and held out to him. "My, my, what an interesting
design. May I?" Kershod asked, indicating that he would like to hold it.
"Please." Almiron smiled, and Kershod hefted the sword in his
hands.
"Oddly balanced, and a curved tip. More of a slashing weapon,
that is for sure." Kershod shifted his grip on the weapon, testing it's
weight.
"Yes, your swords are better at piercing than mine, but my sword
has a longer cutting blade."
Kershod nodded knowingly. "Well lad, if you are not too busy
with your dragon and your leather, perhaps you would be up to teaching
an old man some new tricks." Kershod seemed almost in love with the new
sword.
Wynn smiled over to Almiron. "Now you've done it."
Almiron returned the smile. "It would be my honour, Master
Kershod." He replied.
"Perhaps a sparring match, I would adore to see this blade
sing." Kershod half-asked, still admiring the blade.
"My skill is meager to your own, I am sure." Almiron said, a
bit hesitantly. It had been a long while since he last practiced, it
might do some good, but sparring against Keldarra's own master seemed a
little much.
"You can spar with me, Almiron, if you like. I've been ignoring
my own practice for far too long."
Almiron thought a moment, and then nodded. He quietly removed
his leathers, not wishing them to be damaged in the sparring, and Wynn
found a sword within Master Kershod's forge. Long and straight versus
curved. Almiron thought back to his sparring with David, but saw that
Wynn held himself very differently.
They bowed to each other, and then began to circle. A few brief
strikes, learning how the other fought, how different the blades were
used. Almiron noticed that Wynn fought differently as well from David.
David's strokes were graceful and accurate, it seemed that David already
knew how the fight was going to go, and proceeded through it with much
style and ease. Wynn's blows were swift and practical. Very little
energy expended, and quite vulgar compared to David's grace, and yet
beautiful at the same time. The swords clanged again.
Almiron's long swings were very different for Wynn, and he liked
that. The last thing he wanted was for things to become predictable.
Almiron seemed more adept at blocking Wynn's blows that he was of
Almiron's, but he was learning. Master Kershod watched with wide eyes,
amazed at the grace of the curved sword slicing through the air. It was
then that it happened, a misstep by one, a rock suddenly loosened under
foot of the other. Then red.
NRPG: I will stop there to help in the suspense :) Boy, another long
one. :)
Lyn: There you go, take it away as you will.
Judi: Hope that wakeup call was all right :) Wondering how Evelle will
take V'rdeen's apology and explanation now.
Also, welcome Betty! Always good to have another Canadian on board ...
hope you enjoy things here with us ... it's been a great world so far :)
