Briana headed for the med center to have the cast removed. She wasn't 
going to ask Almiron after he had been acting so strange over Darlea, but 
he took that out of her hands. Part of her was glad, as she had been 
feeling so useless.

After telling one of the healers what had happened, they removed the cast 
and examined her arm. After finding it healed she was released with the 
advise to go easy on it for a few days.

Briana left the med center and ran into Lori.

"Hi!" Briana said, hugging her friend "Have you heard all the news?"

"Why don't we go sit somewhere and you can tell me all of it" Lori said, 
lacing her arm in her friends "By the way, how did you get your cast off 
so quickly?"

Briana explained about Almiron's powers.

Lori thought to herself "No wonder they wanted him out of the way before 
any assasination attempts"

The two walked on with Briana chattering about Christalla's new baby, and 
M'Ressan being hurt and Feldrik being captured....

"What did you say?" Lori interrupted her.

"About M'ressan being hurt?" Briana repeated.

"No, what else" Lori urged her.

"Feldrik was captured?" Briana again repeated.

"Really? How did that happen?" Lori asked astounded. As Briana rambled 
about the battle and the capture, Lori fumed. Now she wouldn't be paid 
for the stuff she had done. Well, her decision was easier now. She didn't 
have an employer so she didn't have to second guess herself anymore.

Briana then asked Lori if she had heard about Roland's escape.

Lori responded "yes, Michel told me" and suddenly the earth shook. Both 
girls grabbed onto each other trying to keep their balance and suddenly 
it stopped.

"Damn! an earthquake" Lori's face was slightly white.

Briana was concentrating on Starleanna who was panicking, then suddenly 
trumpeting that Evelle was safely back.

"Evelle is back" Briana said quietly to Lori "Now what is this about you 
and Michel?"

Lori contemplated the news about Evelle being back, wondering what had 
happened to Roland. He was the only one who could identify her. She hoped 
he had escaped or had died in the rescue of that Warrenlady.

Lori then realized that Briana has asked her a question. "Michel? Well, I 
really like him." She paused and looked thoughtful "I think I am falling 
in love with him, Bri"

Briana was surprised. Lori had always kept her distance from the men, 
although she had been popular.

"Are you sure, Lori?" Briana asked.

Lori nodded.

"And how does he feel?" Briana asked.

"I think the same, although I haven't seen a lot of him since the night 
before that man escaped." Lori said.

Suddenly Briana had an awful thought. "Michel wasn't with you last 
night?" she asked Lori.

"No, I saw him in the woods where I was swimming shortly after that man 
escaped but then he took off" Lori said.

"Look, I gotta go" Briana said, very confused about the thoughts that 
were tumbling around in her brain.

Lori gave her a hug. "See you later."

Briana walked along thinking to herself. "Michel couldn't have done it. 
Although he has the skills. I heard that both men were taken out with a 
knife and snuck up on." Briana was ashamed of herself, thinking these 
thoughts about her friend. She shook them off but somehow her mind kept 
drifting back to them.

Briana heard later about the rescue of Keev, but she was still so 
exhausted and her arm was hurting. She knew there would be enough help, 
so she just lay on her bed.

(Briana, I just heard some good news)

(What is that, sweetie) Briana thought at her sleepily.

(Dencia's rider is going to have a hatchling by Darshan's rider. They are 
being mates)

Briana sat straight up in bed. That is what was wrong with Almiron and 
Darlea. Poor Darlea. Briana couldn't do anything but be there for her 
friend, but she felt so bad for her. For Almiron too. He hadn't seemed 
happy about what was happening either.
Briana then drifted off to sleep.

*The Funeral*

Lori had stayed back in her apartment. Michel had wanted her to go to the 
funeral but she couldn't. She already felt so guilty about what she had 
done. She couldn't be around the people who had so loved this man she had 
killed. Michel hadn't seemed pleased with her decision but she had been 
adamant.

Briana went to the funeral. She had not known Al'dairan very well but 
this warren was her family now. She would be there for her family.

She noticed Michel there, but he seemed somewhat standoffish so she 
stayed away. Again her mind drifted back to her suspicions.

*The day of the mating flight*

Briana was practicing again. She noticed Lori approaching. She looked 
somewhat worried.

"Hi Lori!" Briana called out.

"Hi, Bri" Lori said "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure" Briana said.

"How long have I been here?" Lori asked.

Briana thought to herself "I think about a month or so, why?"

Lori's shoulders slumped. "That's what I thought"

"Why? What's wrong?" Briana asked.

"I'm late" Lori stated.

"Late for what?" Briana asked, not thinking. Then her eyes widened. "You 
mean....?"

Lori nodded.

"How?" Briana asked

Lori had to chuckle at that. "Well the usual way is...."

Briana blushed and interrupted her. "Michel?"

"He's the only one I have been with" Lori said.

"Lets go over to the med center and get this checked out. It may just be 
a false alarm." Briana said. Lori nodded.

*Later at the med center*

They sat waiting for the test result.

"What are you going to do if it is?" Briana asked Lori

"I don't know. I guess part of that depends on Michel" Lori said "he's 
been acting a little strange lately."

Again Briana had to shove her thoughts away. "But I do think he loves 
you. Star says that Paranth is a little jealous over how much he thinks 
about you."

"I love him, Bri" Lori said

Just then Mila came back. She nodded as Lori looked up expectantly. "You 
are pregnant."

Briana and Lori just looked at each other and stared.

"Oh my god. How do I tell him?" Lori said, her eyes wide as she looked at 
Briana.
