(DL) Dragons and such....
As the sun set over the western mountains, David was still hard
at work with his sword forms. It had been a few days since he practised
so he decided that this free time would be good. He already knew he
could take almost every Blademaster in the guild, all except his father
and mother. They had been the best of their generation, and so it was
passed to him.
The two short swords David held flashed with the sunset. Each
thrusting and slicing so fast they sang in the air. It was like watching
a dance, but one so deadly that a single mistake could mean your life.
The movements, added with the hand to hand style of Sirado, made for a
deadly waltz indeed. Kaylin'sha watched with rapture, feeling every bit
of extacy that David felt whenever he practised. Within the void
everything was focused.
Jumping in the air, David spun around, whipping his back foot out
in an arc faster than the eye could see, and landed with the sword form
'Blooming flower'. Others followed. 'The raging bull' and 'Rising sun'
were executed with precise speed. By this time, Kaylin's wings were
fluttering with excitement.
*You are very good* The fastly growing dragon said.
David finished a movement and paused. 'Thank ye. But yeu will
be the best.' He said as he walked over to his dragon. The onyx scales
glittered with orange and red of the sunset, yet traces of grey were
apparent, scattered about randomly. He scratched Kaylins underbelly
which brought about waves of releived sensation.
*You know just what to do.*
'Aye, and ye know just wat t' say.'
David's skin glistened with sweat from the workout. It hadn't
seemed to last that long, but time passed quickly. It was a good two
hours after M'ressan had dismissed him.
'It is almost time feor dinner.' David thought to Kaylin. E'Is
there a place t'o clean up at?'
*Yes, there are many lakes around the warren. Shall we go to one?*
'Please. EIt would be good 'to wade in some cool water.'
*Here, I will show you the way.* Kaylin said, eager to go
swimming. David nodded and the two set off.
As they wound through the caverns, people stared at the minature
dragon, and approving nodds came from many dragonfolk. They knew these
new riders were the next generation of Keldarra's defence. He got many
complements, and so did Kaylin.
'Are we alost there, Kay' David sent.
*Yes, it s jsut around this bend.*
Few people were out now, many heading to dinner. When David and
Kaylin stepped out into the fading light, a wide lake spanned before his
eyes. The suns golden rays bounced off the water, giving the lake a
semblance of liquid fire.
'It tis' beautiful.' Daivd thought.
*Aye.* Kaylin said, mocking David's accent playfully.
'Ah, so ye are makeing fun o' me, eh?' Daivd said, playing
along. Just as he was about to wrestle the dragon, he heard laughter and
a splash. Someone else was there.
'Who's there?' David thought.
*It is I, Alicynth.* A female voice answered in his head.
*That is the new queen. Evelle is her rider.* Kaylin said.
"Hello!?!" David called out, his voice echoing across the lake.....

NRPG: I hope Evelle isn't too embarressed by David's ignorance of the
warrens. He still doesn't know his way around yet. ;)
