(DL) Dinner, and After

Hedda arrived at the Dining Hall early in the evening. She got some
soup and some meat, with a piece of bread. She picked a seat, grabbing a
drink along the way, and started to eat. It was then that she noticed
someone new walk into the Hall.

He looked to be a couple of years younger than her. He also looked a
couple of inches taller than her 5'5", and he looked a little heavier.
>From his face, or what she could see of it, he looked rather handsome,
and looked like he was not from the area. "Must have travelled across
the waste."

He got some food, then turned to notice her. It was then that she saw
that the right side of his face was ruined by a scar. The shock that
Hedda felt at the sight did not register on her face, however. She
managed to keep it locked up inside.

He came over to her, and she noticed the limp with which he walked. "Do
you mind if I sit here?"

Hedda responded "No, not at all."

"I am Almiron. I am leatherworker."

"The Gods know that Warrenfolk use enough leather to keep armies of
leatherworkers in business. I'm certain you will have no problem selling
wares here." Hedda said with a grin. She then noticed Almiron doing
something. He seemed to be picking the meat out of the dish he had
picked. She shrugged and thought "To each his own."

Almiron asked "Would you like to come see my ware?"

Hedda smiled, "I might not buy anything, but I'll go see if anything
strikes my fancy. Sound all right?"

 "Yes. That would be fine."

Hedda and Almiron continued conversation while both ate, but never did
the subject of Almiron's scars come up. During the dinner, Christalla
approched Hedda. The small woman looked very serious as she said,
"Hedda, I would like you to appear before the Council of Warrens tomorrow
and tell them exactly what you told me about Falagand."

Hedda considered this. Then she said "Yes."

***********

Almiron led the way, taking Hedda to his small apartment where he had
set up shop.

"Please excuse mess. I am in middle of making belt for someone."

He moved from small table to small table, showing Hedda many different
belts that would go with what she was wearing "much better than belt you
have now."

Hedda was amused by this, but did not make a purchase, as she was much
to tired for any negotiating. All she wanted after a long day of drill
was her bed.

Almiron continuted to try and sell her something, and she continued to
politely refuse. Finally she said "I'm very sorry, but it is late and I
am tired. I need to go to bed."

Almiron said "I understand. You had long day. You have long day
tomorrow. Maybe we make deal another day."

Hedda replied, heading out the door, "Yes. Another day."

As soon as she hit the bed she was asleep.

NRPG: Lyn, nothing against Almiron. Hedda just did not feel like
negotiating anything at that point. She will be back at some point.

Chris C: Ok, I'm finally on the next day with you. <G>
