(DL-K) Good Morning
[DL] Darlea
Darlea awoke cheerfully. She had a wonderful visit with her father and was
looking to seeing a smile on his face this morning. She had watched as her
parents had looked at each other all night, and had left them alone to spend
some time together.
As a child she had always wished that her father would live with them in
Keldarra. But as it wasn't uncommon for parents to live apart, she had never
expected them to live together. It wasn't as though she never saw her
father, because he visited her often. He and her mother never spent time
together on those visits and it wasn't until she got older and began to
understand something of male/female relationships that she began to wonder
why they avoided spending time together.
Her own relationship with Almiron had given her an appreciation of the
sexual side of such relationships. She wasn't sure she understood why they
would avoid that, when it was so obvious to her that they longed to be together.
"Makayla, where is Porthios?" she asked coming out of her bedroom and into
the main room.
<He is at the lake.>
Darlea smiled, "Did Daddy take Mama to the lake?"
<Porthios says they are there alone. He and his rider will be back her to
have breakfast with you before they head back to Marrid.>
Darlea frowned, wondering what had gone wrong. Sighing she finished getting
ready and hopped on Makayla to head down to the dining hall. For once her
mother was no where in sight. She spotted Melnora and asked where her mother
was.
"She said she wasn't feeling well this morning so went back to bed."
"Maybe I should check on her."
Melnora shook her head. "No, go spend time with your father. I'll keep an
eye on her. I don't think she's really sick. Perhaps she just needs a day to
sleep in."
Darlea nodded and turned to see D'nar heading in. "Good morning, Sweetie,"
he said to her. She smiled and hugged him. They got their breakfast and sat
down. Darlea started in right away asking what went wrong.
"What do you mean?" he asked, feigning ignorance.
"I mean, why didn't you spend time with mama last night." she said.
"We did, we talked briefly. But she was busy, and I wanted a swim." Darlea
eyed him, suspiciously. He sighed, "Look, Darlea, I'm not going to discuss
this with you."
"I know you sill love her. I watched you look at her all last night."
"Darlea... I already told you..." he began
"I know, I know. I'll not say another word." She sat silently eating. But it
wasn't long before she opened her mouth again, "She still loves you too. I
wish the two of you would stop being so silly about it."
D'nar shrugged, "We dealt with this long ago. It's not something we are
going to deal with again. Both you and I have to accept that."
Darlea nodded, "Alright."
It wasn't long after that that Darlea watched D'nar and Porthios head up
into the skies of Keldarra and then vanish as they teleported back to Marrid.
