[DL] Darlea

Darlea left Almiron in the Medical center, meeting Makayla just outside.
<Would you tell Salinda we're on our way>

<Dencia says they are waiting for us> Makayla told her.

It was a short flight to the site where Salinda and Dencia sat. She found
Salinda laying in the crook of Dencia's foreleg with her eyes closed. At the
rustle of Makayla's wings, the girl opened her eyes, smiling up at Darlea.

"I thought you were going swimming?" asked Darlea.

Salinda shook her head, "No, I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet here.
It's really helped me to relax a bit, and I've needed to the last few days."

"What about the assassins, Salinda? Maybe it's not a good idea to be alone
here."

Salinda chuckled, "I'm not *alone*, I'm with Dencia. Besides, it would be a
long climb up here without a dragon."

Darlea nodded, this wasn't the lake where Almiron had been attacked. She sat
down a short distance from her friend, "I wanted to apologize for running
out on you yesterday. But I don't get to see my father as often as I would
like."

"I understand. I wish I had a father I could say the same thing about."

Darlea instantly felt bad, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you think about
that again."

"It's not because of you, Darlea. I've been thinking about it anyway."
Salinda closed her eyes again as if to try and shut it out. 

"So what did you want to talk to me about yesterday before everything fell
apart?"

Salinda sighed, "It's really not important. Mostly I just wasn't sure I
wanted to go with the wing. I know that's horrible, I just... I didn't feel
up to it. I was afraid I'd let them all down."

Darlea listened understanding that feeling very well. "It's my understanding
that basically it was just a standoff. Though Wynn's missing."

Salinda nodded, "I know." The two sat in silence for a while, listening to
the sounds of the insect life around them. 

"You know, Salinda, I think that we should all be allowed to 'break down'
once in a while." said Darlea.

<Good suggestion.> muttered Makayla.

<Hush, deary.> she said, scolding the small green dragon.

Salinda nodded, but didn't answer. So Darlea continued, "How about we take a
swim and enjoy the warm day?"

Salinda smiled and nodded. Darlea jumped up and was already stripping off
her cloths and running to the beckoning water as Salinda stood. She stripped
down to her under garments and followed the naked girl into the water.
