Briana squirmed out from beneath the weight that held her in place on the
ground. She looked around to find out what it was. She drew a breath
inwards when she saw it was R'mar.

	"R'mar!  R'mar, are you all right?"

	Then she saw the dart sprouting from the base of his neck.

	R'mar shifted suddenly.  His eyes opened and tried to focus on
her, but the irises rolled back in his head.  His mouth moved, words
whistling almost inaudibly to Briana's ears.

	"I love you."

	And then his body was limp against hers.

Briana's eyes widened and she opened her mouth to scream for help, when
suddenly Almiron was there. He rolled R'mar onto his back after pulling
the dart out and knelt beside him, touching his lips to the injured mans.
Briana watched as color flowed back into R'mars face.

(Star, get the healers here quickly!)

(Aethnod is already on his way.)

Briana shakily got to her feet. She felt Darlea's arms go around her,
holding her as she shook. "She would have killed me."

Just as Darlea was about to ask who, more people arrived. Christalla and
M'ressan were there and Briana went over to them to fill them in.

She quickly told them about the note she had obtained from V'rdeen.

"Why didn't you bring it to us immediately?" asked Christalla.

"I was headed to give it to you or M'ressan, when all this happened."
Briana said. It was essentially the truth, she had just wanted to see what
it said before she handed it over...and it had almost gotten her killed.

M'ressan frowned as he saw Briana wince. "Are you hurt?"

"I think my shoulder is sprained." Briana said. "R'mar landed on me."
She looked puzzled. "He's part of them, but he saved my life. If it had
not been for him, I wouldn't be here now." She puzzled over his words to
her. "He said he loved me."

M'ressan looked like he was about to say something, then he changed his
mind. "You need to go to the med center and get that looked at."

Briana nodded. She headed for Star.

"You shouldn't fly with your shoulder like that" M'ressan said.

Briana looked at him. "Flying is the only place I feel safe. I will be
fine." And with that, she swung herself up one handed and was gone.

Briana waited in the room she had been placed in to be seen by someone.
She had not been there long when someone slipped into the room.

"What do you want?" she asked, backing up slightly, wondering if this was
someone that SHE had sent after her. Then she recognized her as being the
girl who S'brogh had appeared to have some interest in at one point before
he left. She relaxed slightly.

"I wouldn't normally bother you at a time like this.. but it's important
that I know if V'rdeen told you anything about who the vandals might be...."

Briana was not about to tell anyone anything. She didn't know who to trust
anymore. "I have told Christalla and M'ressan everything I know."

Shae opened her mouth to ask something else. 

Briana interrupted. "Please....I don't want to talk about this. Please
go."

Shae's face fell but she nodded. "I understand. I hope you are alright."
and then she slipped out the door.

Briana watched her go and then realized how much danger she might be in in
this room by herself.

(Star, meet me outside the med center.)

(But, you're hurt)

(I could be dead if I stay here)

Briana opened the door and looked outside. Suddenly, she saw her, there in
the hallway. She opened her mouth to scream but nothing would come out.
Then Briana saw Michel head for her. She headed down the hall to help him,
but it was over before she got there.

She stood there looking at D'jer as his blood stained the floor at her
feet.

She couldn't take any more of this. She started to kick Celeste's unmoving
body.

"Bitch!" she screamed. She kicked her again. "You and your kind don't
belong here!" Suddenly someone pulled her back as she drew her foot back
again. She looked into M'ressans eyes, and then pulled away. "She deserves
to die!" She then ran out of the med center where Star was waiting.

She quickly pulled herself up one handed again, ignoring the pain in her
other shoulder.

(Go, Star, get me away from here for awhile)

And they blinked out.

NRPG: Briana will be back for the meeting and the resulting combat. She
just had to get out of there for awhile.
