GUILD OF SWORDS 1.0: What is the Guild of Swords? 1.1: Guild Rules 1.2: Structure 2.0: RANK 2.1: Novice 2.2: Inductee 2.3: Intermediary 2.4: BladeMaster 2.5: Ruleing Council 3.0: Metal Working 4.0: Sirado (Sirado'ka) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.0 What is the Guild of Swords? The Guild of Swords is actually a craft guild who specializes in the forging of steel, iron, and other metals into useable tools and weapons. The reason it is called 'The Guild of Swords' is because of the secret art of Sirado'ka (see sec. 4.0). The chapter house is located in the city of Seign, 20 miles south of the capitol Ralengaurd. The Guilds wares are sold throughout the DragonLands, espessialy in Warrens about the area. They make everything from leather buckles to halbreds. The Guild is relatively strong in the political structure of the LandBound, being the primary provider of weponry. Their Ruleing Council is the political power in Seign, despite Lord Mikael's insistance that he is. 1.1 Guild Rules The rules for The Guild of Swords are strictly followed. Any who break them are sent out in disgrace. 1: Respect of Life. Any who kill another without reason suffer the same fate. 2: Respect of Authority. Those who dishonor their master are disgraced. 3: Code of Silence. Nothing that is learned by the Guild is to be told outside the Guild. The penalty is death. All other rules are reflections off of these three. 1.2 Structure The politcal structure in the Guild is followed by rank. (see sec. 2.0 Rank) 2.0 Rank Rank is the power structure of the Guild of Swords. There are five different postions one can hold, each one higher than the other. 2.1 Novice A beginner in training, Novices are the newcomers to the Guild. To become a novice, one must be sponsered by a member of the Guild, and take the oaths for the Three Rules (see sec. 1.1). They are usually born into the guild, but any person is able to join. Novices start their training with learning how to work metals and practice Sirado (see sec. 4.0). The uniform of a Novice is a white tunic with gray pants, tied by a black leather belt. 2.2 Inductee A Novice is raised to an Inductee when he/she has become adept in Metal Working and Sirado. Training becomes more vigarous, and the Inductee is shown how to forge weapons. An Inductee's garb is a white tunic with black pants, tied by a black leather belt. 2.3 Intermediary An Inductee is raised to an Intermediary when he/she has mastered the arts of Metal Working and Sirado. Training continues in these areas and the Intermediary starts learning Sirado'ka (see sec. 4.0). The Intermediary also starts to teach Novices. An Intermediary wears a gray tunic with black pants, tied by a black leather belt. 2.4 BladeMaster The Intermediary is raised to a BladeMaster when he/she has become an expert in all forms of Metal Working, Sirado, and Sirado'ka. He/she demonstrates their worthiness by forging their own set of swords and displays them to The Ruleing Council. If The Ruleing Council accepts the swords, one becomes a BladeMaster. A BladeMaster's uniform is a black tunic with black pants, tied by a black leather belt. 2.5 The Ruleing Council The Ruleing Council is elected by the Guild to enforce laws, represent the Guild, and carry out all official actions. Five BladeMasters are elected to this office, and all have equal power. It is common for The Ruleing Council to be the five eldest BladeMasters. A Council Members uniform is the same as a BladeMaster's, but with a gray stripe across the collar. 3.0 Metal Working Metal Working is the trade represented by the Guild of Swords. It is the art of forgeing metal into various instruments (i.e. Swords, Tools, Armor, etc.). 4.0 Sirado (Sirado'ka) Sirado is like a martial art, most similar to Aki'jujitsu. It is the use of the hands and feet as a weapon. It usually takes one 8 years to master, and there is always more to learn after that. Sirado'ka is the application of sword forms to regular Sirado. The closest representation of a BladeMaster is a Samari, yet the uniform and sword styles are different. Sirado'ka takes mastery of Sirado and an additional 5 years to master the sword. Sirado teaches disipline and strength of mind. A hidden secret of
